- The chapter starts out with a view of the Hitachiin twins. It is the first day of summer vacation and the two are sleeping in. Suddenly, the phone starts ringing. When Hikaru asks Kaoru to pick up the phone, Kaoru responds sleepily that the ringtone is just Tamaki calling, and the two wake up with annoyance that Tamaki is bothering them on the first day of summer vacation. After answering the phone, they're greeted with a loud burst from Tamaki, claiming that his "daughter" (Haruhi) has gone missing.

Once he starts thinking of Morgif as a living thing instead of a sword, he manages to gather the courage to pull it out of the water. Yuuri's hopeful that his approval ratings are going up and Conrad informs Yuuri that Gwendal couldn't possibly hate him - because Gwendal likes cute things, much to Yuuri's surprise.

- The chapter starts out with a view of the Hitachiin twins. It is the first day of summer vacation and the two are sleeping in. Suddenly, the phone starts ringing. When Hikaru asks Kaoru to pick up the phone, Kaoru responds sleepily that the ringtone is just Tamaki calling, and the two wake up with annoyance that Tamaki is bothering them on the first day of summer vacation. After answering the phone, they're greeted with a loud burst from Tamaki, claiming that his "daughter" (Haruhi) has gone missing. Similarly, all the other Host Club members get calls from a distressed Tamaki who has created a crazy story about Haruhi's "disappearance". He claims that she went bankrupt and was sold into slave labor, and not surprisingly, no one believes his imaginative tale. Kyouya nonchalantly states that Haruhi went to Karuizawa, which puzzles Tamaki even more. Meanwhile, it's shown that Haruhi is actually working at a pension house in Karuizawa, helping out with chores there and spending a relaxing, fresh summer break at Karuizawa. Haruhi feels bad about not telling the Host Club about her stay at Karuizawa, but merely brushes her concerns off in her head. As she is happily hanging up laundry, predicting how the summer will be her best summer break yet, Tamaki suddenly appears in a helicopter, asking about her safety through a megaphone, with the helicopter blowing all her laundry away. Haruhi dryly changes her mind about the summer being the best ever; instead, she tells herself it will be the worst. Later, when all the Host Club has gathered inside the pension, they meet the owner, Isao "Misuzu" Sonoda, a friend of Haruhi's father and another transvestite. Misuzu states that Haruhi's father left her here because he was on a business trip and was worried for her safety. Also, Haruhi was simply looking for a place to stay and earn extra cash. The conversation leads to the other Hosts remarking that this is the reason why Haruhi didn't want to go on a vacation with them, to places like Bali and Switzerland. Tamaki fumes as he rages about how he toils to make the Host Club a family, yet they all individually invited Haruhi to exotic trips. Tamaki grows even more despairing when the twins show him their cell phones and Haruhi's, on which Tamaki isn't listed as a friend. In response to the Host Club gathering, Haruhi tries to get them to leave and allow her to work in peace, but they ultimately decide on spending some of their vacation at the pension. The Host Club quickly cooks up a game, in which they will work for Misuzu at the pension and whoever Misuzu chooses as the best worker(s) will be allowed to stay at the pension for free. Tamaki and Honey set off to repair a rickety old fence, while the twins dazzle incoming guests with their charm, and Takashi shows off his manliness and stoic demeanor by completing difficult jobs with ease. Misuzu walks around giving or taking away "refreshing points" based on how their work strikes his fancy, with whomever gathers the most points winning the vacant room for the night. Tamaki's fencework comes off as a dud, as he has no idea about what he's doing and only worsens the situation by trying to look "refreshing" while working. Meanwhile, everyone else's work is not going much better and Misuzu deducts points for their inadequate results. As the competition ensues, Haruhi asks Kyouya why he isn't participating, to which he replies there's no point, then continues to reveal that everyone has a summer home in the area, exasperating her. Kyouya tells Haruhi who he thinks will win, stating that Honey is more cute than refreshing and that Tamaki gets too passionate about these things. He adds that Takashi looks refreshing while doing anything, but since Honey will probably soon drop out, he will as well. Therefore, he concludes, the twins will win, as they are reasonably capable and refreshing at the same time. Tamaki then tries to look refreshing playing with his dog, Antoinette, but ends up digging himself deeper in his dilemma, losing fifty "refreshing points" while the twins win ten for feeding the dog with style. Tamaki resolves to win the competition, claiming his relationship with Haruhi depends on it. Kyouya tells Tamaki he is acting pitifully, but drops a vital clue by remarking that "choosing the right song" might help, inciting Tamaki to play the piano for the guests. Things start to look up for Tamaki; but as Haruhi converses outdoors with Kaoru, a guest pushes open a stuck window which comes unhinged and plummets towards the pair below. Kaoru saves Haruhi by pushing her away and wrapping her tightly in an embrace to shield her from the splintering glass, a shard of which cuts his cheek. Hikaru rushes over to assess Kaoru's injury and the two play up their "love for one another." This so touches Misuzu that he gives them 100 refreshing points and deems them the winners of the competition. It's later shown that the twins had planned their winning techniques and Tamaki loses the competition with great regret.

Yuuri and Wolfram discuss Julia, the young general from Grantz, and the three witches. Josak eventually returns with a flyer for a job asking for people at the end of their lives.

It is also the eighteenth chapter of Phantom Blood.

- Misaki and the other staffs of Maid Latte are invited by Satsuki’s sister Nagisa to visit her Beach House. The moron trio , at Maid Latte, are disappointed because the shop is closed. Misaki and the others are surprised to see Aoi (dressed as a girl again), whose father has sent him to the beach house to become more "manly". Nagisa snatches his wig saying that this kind of appearance isn’t allowed. Also, Takumi was invited by Satsuki to act as a bodyguard. He holds Misaki's head saying that if she drowns in the sea, he would prefer to be the one to give her the mouth-to-mouth respiration. Misaki gives him a tight slap and heads out to swim. While the other girls are wearing their swimsuits, they are surprised to see Misaki in her school’s swimwear. Disappointed, Takumi decides to head back to the house, but is interrupted by some girls, who try to invite him to play beach volleyball. Takumi simply ignores them, with Subaru commenting that he really isn’t interested in any girl other than Misaki. At the beach house, Nagisa tells everyone that her shop isn’t very popular because it is quite far from the crowded area. Aoi says that it’s better if the shop gets torn down so that he can return home (which makes Nagisa angry). Misaki notices that Satsuki and the others are suddenly surrounded with "dark auras". They wear a maid apron and decide to go and attract customers. While Misaki is worried, Nagisa says that it’s fine as long as everyone is enjoying themselves. Aoi is forced to do the cleaning work and Misaki offers help. Misaki pats him which makes him blush and he calls her ‘black old lady’ and runs away, leaving her speechless. On the other hand, Takumi feels hot lying in the balcony and decides to go inside. He is surprised to see Misaki wearing a swimsuit with an apron (borrowed from Nagisa). Misaki freaks out because she just finished changing without even a mere idea that Takumi was there. Misaki is about to leave when Takumi kisses her from behind, much to her shock. He smiles and states that if she goes out, everyone will see the kiss mark. Satsuki is surprised to see Misaki wearing the apron over a normal T-shirt. She apologises and shouts at Takumi to help out as well. At night, Misaki and the others are eating barbeque, when Honoka narrates a scary story related to the beach, scaring Misaki. Once a couple decided to suicide by jumping off the cliff but the guy had another lover. The women jumped off but was betrayed as the guy was only faking. Her body was never found. Honoka tells that after that incident, a young couple came to see the starry sky and they saw a woman covered in blood climbing up the cliff. Misaki completely freaks out. Nagisa and the others decide to go to the hot spring but Misaki stays back because of the Kiss mark on her back. After everyone leaves, she blames Takumi (who also stayed behind). Takumi asks if Misaki is afraid of ghosts to which she replies that there is nothing like that. Misaki notices that everyone has forgotten their tickets. She decides to follow them. On her way, Misaki tries to convince herself that ghosts don’t exist but she notices some light behind her. Shocked, Misaki turns around and finds Takumi who grabs her hand. She sits down with relief, taking deep breaths. Takumi notices that Misaki is trembling and hugs her, making her blush. Misaki demands him to let her go but he refuses. Misaki tightens her grip (holding his shirt). Aoi comes over and is shocked to see the two hugging. He asks if that they are making love which makes Misaki annoyed. He further says that Misaki should admit her feelings towards Takumi. They reach the hot spring and Misaki is told by Satsuki that the tickets she found were extras and they didn’t need them. Takumi drags Aoi to the men’s bath, with the latter one replying that he hates it.
- A Dance of Swords is the 18th chapter of Lost Fable. The final battle begins! Talon and Runa engage Basara together, fighting him with everything they got. Despite gaining the upperhand in a two-on-one fight, Basara unleashes the cursed sword and another ability that catches them both by surprise.
- The chapter opens with Koyuki attempting to study, but he ends up reading manga instead. After reading manga, Koyuki practices his guitar playing. Later at school, a rumor is going around that Momoko used to work at a lingerie pub. While at school, Koyuki is in the bathroom at the same time as Hyodo. Hyodo asks Koyuki to hit him since he must want to. Koyuki hits him and they part on friendly terms. The story fast forwards to April and Koyuki's first day at his new high school. Saku and Chiba (who is a senior) attend the same high school. While Saku and Koyuki are walking on the school grounds, Koyuki spots one of his middle school classmates being bullied by club members. Koyuki interrupts them and his classmate, Kigata, runs away. The club members tell Koyuki that he has to sell the tickets that Kigata was supposed to sell. After band practice one day, Koyuki mentions to Ryusuke that he'd like to buy his own guitar instead of borrowing Mr. Saitou's. Ryusuke takes him to a music shop and they look at the guitars. They then go to another store: Yngwie Instruments. While there, Ryusuke uses the money he was supposed to use to restock the fish pond to buy a new guitar. The store owner, Takano, plays the guitar for them before he hands it over. Ryusuke begins playing the guitar, capturing everyone's attention. Taira comes into the store. He's known Takano for a while and talks to him. Ryusuke and Taira go to find Koyuki and find him staring at a Telecaster. Takano agrees to give Koyuki a loan if he wants to buy the Telecaster. Koyuki thanks him. Koyuki starts working in a restaurant. He finds it hard work, but he needs the money. While Koyuki is taking a break behind the restaurant, he sees a girl fall over. Before he can do anything, he's called back into work. On his way home, he sees a billboard with Yoshito featured on it. At school, Koyuki is having trouble with the club he rescued Kigata from. They want him to sell the tickets that Kigata was supposed to sell, but Koyuki doesn't have the time to sell them. They corner Koyuki in the music room. Chiba interrupts the confrontation and takes down all three of the club members. Chiba tells the club that if they mess with Koyuki or Saku, he will beat them up again. The chapter ends with Eddie Lee calling Ryusuke to inform him that he received the exact same number of bullets in the mail as there are bullet holes in Lucille.
