- Damn, this is getting fun! Maybe it was the caffeine I consumed tonight, maybe it's the fact that I was listening to The Urge on the way over to the studio, maybe it was just the perfect alignment of the stars. Regardless, the fact is, we had a killer show! This is the one that sets the standard for all others to come. It's a little lewd in places, a little silly in others, but there is no argument that we're finally coming into our own.

- An NBC Today Show takes money from tech company's, such as Apple, Sony, HP, etc, and Tom is irate that he is never offered money from vendors, not that he would take it. Apparently, theres a reported shadowy organization of people who are paid to mention products. NBC fully knows about it, and does not object, and state that it is hard to find editors who are not affected in this way. This shocks Tom and Molly. Don't trust the today show for tech news! Negative news surrounding Firefox, including 2 severe vulnerabilities. Mozilla is issuing fixes the next day, where IE has patches every month, if ever. Molly thinks that if Firefox gets popular enough, more flaws will be found. Tom debates this, and points to the Linux/Mac issue on the same concept. In more browser news, Opera, who had tabs before anyone else, has issued version 8. Tom has always had little bugs with Opera, so prefers Mozilla. Molly agrees, citing keyboard combo's, and predicts its death. New Samsung P207, that Molly saw at CES, has voice recognition that will allow for voice-text messaging. the phone, about $80, is carried by Cingular. Molly thinks that is ridiculous, as what is the point of text messaging with your voice? Tom, with a 9 button phone, thinks that it is good if you are in some place where talking is no issue, and you do not want to pluck at keys. Apparently, speech recognition is very bad back in 2005. Apparently, robots ride camels. No more said on the matter. - Brenna, Bulbasaur en Andrew zijn nog steeds op weg naar Pewter City en ze zijn nog steeds verdwaald. "Over de helft he?" zei Andrew boos. "Dan moeten we wel de weg weten." "Misschien lukt het me als je stopt met klagen" grauwde Brenna terug terwijl ze de kaart voor de tigste keer bestudeerde. Opeens hoorden we geruzie achter de bosjes. "Wat is..." zei Andrew, maar hij stopte, omdat hij te nieuwsgierig was om nog te praten. "Laten we niet met anderen bemoeien, Andrew." zei Brenna en pakte stevig de arm van Andrew vast om hem vooral niet dichterbij de bosjes te krijgen. Andrew trok zijn arm terug en Brenna wankelde, maar bleef wonder boven wonder staan. Andrew keek over de bosjes en zag twee jongens van allebei rond de acht jaar. De een had een Weedle voor zijn voeten en de ander had een Caterpie op zijn schouder. "Een Weedle, hè?" Weedle, de rups-Pokemon, zijn hoofdstekel kan makkelijk een grotere Pokemon vergiftigen, ondanks dat wordt hij snel verslagen. De jongens keken op, wanneer ze het geluid van de Pokedex hoorden en renden naar Andrew toe en vergaten even het akkevietje. "Bulbasaur, ik denk dat het wel even duurt voordat we in Pewter City zijn." zei Brenna en Bulbasaur bevestigde dat met wat gemompel. "Is dat een Pokedex?" vroeg de jongen met de Weedle. "Ja," bevestigde de andere. "Dan ben jij een trainer." "Eehhh... Dat klopt" zei Andrew alsof het niks bijzonders was. "En kijk, een Bulbasaur!" zei degene met de Caterpie. "Pfff... Charmander is toch veel sterker." zei de andere, "En die evolueert in Charizard, de coolste Pokemon ooit. Mijn broer heeft een Charmeleon, ik kan niet wachten tot hij evolueert." "Mijn broer heeft een Ivysaur, die evolueert in Venussaur en die droogt die Charizard van je broer helemaal af. Met je Weedle erbij." "Hou mijn Weedle erbuiten en ga weg met die slappe Caterpie van je." "Genoeg!" riep Andrew. "Als jullie denken dat jullie zoveel weten over Pokemon, waarom battlen jullie niet." Brenna kuchte even en zei: "Deze battle is tussen - eehhm..." "Mijn naam is Daniel" zei de jongen met de Caterpie "En de mijne is Sander" zei de andere. "OK, Deze deze battle is tussen Daniel en Sander. 1 tegen 1. De battlers hebben beide aangegeven met wie ze willen vechten en mogen dat niet meer veranderen. Begin!" "Caterpie, Tackle" "Poison Sting, Weedle!" riepen de twee om de beurt. Weedle sneed met zijn hoofd naar voren door de lucht. Caterpie ontweek de scherpe punt op Weedles hoofd op het nippertje en ging zelf in de aanval. Caterpie beukte met zijn volle gewicht - voor hoever je van gewicht kunt spreken - tegen Weedle. "String Shot" riepen ze allebei en de twee rupsen spuwden allebei een soort rag naar elkaar en ze kwamen er allebei vast in te zitten. Ze probeerden allebei los te komen, maar hoe meer ze beweegden, hoe verder ze verstrikt raakten. "Beide Pokemon kunnen niet meer vechten, deze battle eindigt in een gelijkspel." zei Brenna. "Mijn Caterpie kan nog wel verder." protesteerde Daniel. "En mijn Weedle is nog verre van verslagen." voegde Sander er aan toe. Op dat moment kwam er heftig gezoem van achteren. "DUIKEN!" riep Brenna en op het nippertje ontweken wij een horde Beedrill. Beedrill, de wesp-Pokemon. Zijn angels zijn scherp en zeer giftig. "Ze nemen Caterpie mee" constateerde Daniel. "... en mijn Weedle" zei Sander. "Dacht het niet. Pidgey, ik kies jou." zei Andrew en Pidgey kwam uit zijn Pokeball. "Pidgey, Gust" Deze aanval lukte, maar niet bij de Beedrill die Caterpie en Weedle met zich mee nam. In plaats daarvan smakten er een aantal andere Beedrill tegen de dichtstbijzijnde boom aan. Ze kwamen furieus terug. "Butterfree, nu!" zei Brenna, terwijl ze de Pokeball van haar nieuwste aanwinst gooide. "Butterfree, Sleeppowder." Butterfree strooide een fijn poeder en de Beedrill vielen in slaap. "Ha," zei Daniel. "Een Butterfree tegen vijf Beedrill." Brenna trok Butterfree terug. "Maar dit is ook niet de eerste de beste Butterfree." "Wat doen we nu?" zei Daniel. Hij staarde depressief naar de grond. "We vinden die Beedrill wel terug, dat beloof ik." trooste Andrew." Sander snikte. "Dan moeten we wel opschieten, Beedrill zijn erg gevaarlijk." zei hij. "Ik denk dat ik wel weet waar ze zijn." zei Daniel. Na een tijdje kwamen we aan bij een open veld. En ja hoor, niet ver vandaan zagen wij in een holle boom een bruine en een groene gedaante. Probleem: De boom was omringt door Beedrill. "Hoe komen we daar ooit doorheen?" vroeg Andrew zich af. "We moeten wat bedenken." zei Brenna en ze ging naast Bulbasaur zitten. Daniel en Sander keken naar de boom. Ze zagen er erg bedroefd uit. Plotseling begonnen ze allebei richting de boom te rennen, in een wanhopige poging Weedle en Caterpie terug te krijgen. "Nee!" riepen Brenna en Andrew tegelijk, maar het was al te laat. De jonge trainers waren dichterbij de boom, dan bij Brenna en Andrew. Inmiddels hadden de Beedrill de twee ook al opgemerkt en begonnen op hun af te komen. "We moeten ze helpen." zei Andrew en hij riep Pidgey. "Butterfree, Sandshrew, nu!" "Bulbasaur, Growl, Pidgey, Sand-Attack." "Sandshrew, jij ook Sand-Attack." Bulbasaur begon te grommen en Pidgey fladderde met zijn vleugels om een soort zandvlaag te maken, Sandshrew deed er nog een schepje bovenop door er meer zand in te gooien. De groep Beedrill spleet in tweeen. Er bleef echter nog een aantal Beedrill over. "Butterfree!" zei Brenna, "gebruik je Sleeppowder nog een keer." Butterfree gebruikte SleepPowder die de Beedrill slaperig maakte en Sander en Daniel de gelegenheid gaf om hun Pokemon te krijgen. Snel graaiden ze hun Pokemon weg uit de holle boom en zo snel als ze konden renden ze weer weg. Echter ze waren nog niet uit de penarie. De vier trainers renden snel voor de Beedrill uit. "Dit is niet goed" zei Brenna. Opeens viel Sander. Hij liet Weedle uit zijn handen vallen, die een meter buiten zijn bereik viel. "Weedle!" riep hij. Daniel keek achterom en viel ook. Hij liet zijn Weedle vallen. "Jullie moeten echt leren lopen" zei Andrew. Op dat moment zagen de vier dat de Beedrill op de rupsen afkwamen. "Nee!" riepen Sander en Daniel. Op dat moment werden de twee rupsen sneeuwwit. Ze schitterden in een vaag soort licht. De witte gedaante werd iets groter en toen het witte licht oploste, kwamen er twee nieuwe Pokemon uit. "Vet! Caterpie evolueerde in een Metapod" zei Daniel. "En mijn Weedle evolueerde in een Kakuna." zei Sander. "Sorry dat ik jullie feestje moet storen, maar we worden nog steeds achtervold door een op hol geslagen horde Beedrill" zei Brenna. "Butterfree, Sleeppowder, nog een keer." Butterfree deed nog eens zijn Sleeppowder. De een na de andere Beedrill viel in slaap. Maar ook Butterfrees energie raakte op. Hij werd moe van het uitstroeien van de Sleeppowder. Maar Bulbasaur stapte naar voren en deed zíjn Sleeppowder aanval. Deze aanval wiegde de andere Beedrill in slaap. "Goed zo, Bulbasaur, je hebt die Sleeppowder echt onder de knie." zei Andrew en hij aaide over Bulbasaurs kop. "Nou weg wezen hier." zei Andrew. Brenna en Andrew trokken onze Pokemon terug (behalve Bulbasaur) en liepen van de Beedrill weg. Na een rustig plekje gevonden te hebben, praatten we na over het afgelopen avontuur. "Fijn dat Metapod weer terug is" zei Daniel. "En mijn Kakuna dan?" zei Sander. "Jullie waren erg indrukwekkend." zei Brenna. "Ik kan niet wachten tegen jullie te vechten wanneer Metapod en Kakuna weer evolueren." "Komt goed." zei Daniel. "Zullen we SAMEN trainen dan?" vroeg hij aan Sander. "Is goed, dan worden wij net zo sterk als zij." Sander wees naar Andrew en Brenna. "Dan bereiden wij ons voor." zei Andrew. "Bulba" zei Bulbasaur. Brenna en Andrew namen afscheid en stapten voort richting Pewter City, totdat ze ontdekten dat we op een heuvel stonden naast een kleine stad: Pewter City. "Dat is Pewter City" zei Brenna. "Zo ziet het er wel uit" zei Andrew. "En daar zal mijn eerste Gym Battle zijn" We hoorden gezoem van achteren. En gekrijs. We keken achterom, we zagen dat de Spearow én de Beedrill ons gevonden hadden. We zetten het op een lopen. Richting Pewter City...
