  • The Cooking Station is needed to cook Food that has different useful effects (buffs) on player-characters when consumed, and also this food can be fed to Pets if player-characters want to harvest from their Pets a little while later. The crafting-recipe for the Cooking Station is unlocked after grabbing/crafting a Plow. You can craft the Cooking Station in your Crafting Menu (default key "Q") or at Crafting Tables (that still exist in worlds created before R22 on September 16th 2015), using: The first recipe, included with the cooking-station, is for Soup.

You can craft the Cooking Station in your Crafting Menu (default key "Q") or at Crafting Tables (that still exist in worlds created before R22 on September 16th 2015), using: * 1 Coal, extracted from Coal Nodes in Mountains or the Fossil layer, or found in Treasure Chests * 4 Stone Rods made of Stone, Limestone or Bedrock in a Processor or found in Stone Treasure Chests * 2 Obsidian (bars) made from extracted Obsidian Ore in a Forge * 2 Stone Slabs made of Stone, Limestone or Bedrock in a Processor To use the Cooking Station you have to place it on safe ground and activate it (right-click or "F" (default key). Either use right-click on ingredients in your inventory to put them into the Cooking Station or drag & drop them (which sometimes won't work so well). Cooking Stations can only be crafted by players, they cannot be discovered anywhere in the world currently (as of R27 in January 2016). Currently there are four recipes that you can use: Soup, Pie, Bread and Sandwiches. Depending on the ingriedients you will use for these recipes and then insert into the slots of the Cooking Station, different types of food will be made. You will not need to search for special crafting-recipes to make rare types of Food. The first recipe, included with the cooking-station, is for Soup. Making/taking an ordinary, simple Soup will then unlock the recipe/s for Pie. Special types of soups will not unlock this recipe. Getting Wheat (growing from Wheat Seeds) for the first time will unlock the recipe/s for Bread. Baking an ordinary Bread in the Cooking Station will then unlock the recipe for Sandwiches. Note: Crisphead Lettuce and Turnips count as "Vegetables". Sometimes also Horned Melons can be used as ordinary Vegetables, sometimes using Melons will create special types of Food, you can give this a try yourself.
