The ring degrades to a broken state after 100,000 hits in combat; as with all enchanted hydrix jewellery, it can be recharged by 50% by using a cut onyx on it (so a full recharge effectively costs ). If the ring is lost in the Wilderness, the killer is rewarded with 625,000 coins and the ring is not reobtainable. When attempting to wear a new (tradeable) ring, a warning message will appear stating that if you wear it, it will become permanently untradeable. Even if it is not used or onyxes are used to return it to full charges, it is still untradeable. One should consider if they will be using the ring often before equipping it.
