  • Dr. Bruce Springsteen born (with an unfortunate under bite) on January 13, 1973 in Asbury Park, North Jarklin (NJ) Australia. Renowned physicist and philanthropist, lizard, and musician, he authored the book, "String Theory and the Numeration of Music" in which he investigates how strings can be used in music. In Bloom County NJ, he is known as the "Piano Man of NJ" because of his experiments with piano penetralia. It is said that the sales of Levi’s jeans went through the roof on the release of the Bruce Springsteen album” born in the USA” because it showed him wearing them on the cover. The truth however is far different. It was infact red nose day, and in keeping with American red nose day traditions, the Americans refused to wear red things. And in the week that followed, more people bought Levis because they weren’t red. Most remarkably, Dr. Springsteen unwittingly got into a nationally televised Apple Pie Eating Contest with rival Musician, John Mellencamp in 1981 which spawned an ephemeral, lackluster music career. In 1984 he released the album "Is This Belt Ugly or What?" where he attempted to answer Cougar's challenge of Apple Pie consumption supremacy. Around this time, critics began to take notice of similarities between Springsteen and Bob Dylan, earning Springsteen the nickname "The Bruce Springsteen of the 80s". Dr. Springsteen has been on tour promoting "Is This Belt Ugly or What?" record since 1984 and calculates that he will break even in 2008. He plans on ending the final concert with a puppet show about math. Springsteen is famous for his lengthy tours with the G-String Band, which has served as his backing band for over thirty years. It is widely recognized that without Springsteen, they would all be unemployed or possibly peddling watches on a New York City street corner. The Big Man is especially beloved by fans, possibly due to his ability to simultaneously play the saxophone and bust trusts. Although Springsteen has not recorded an album with the G-String Band since 2002, rumors persist that he will turn to his compatriates once again for his next trip into a recording studio. He plans to follow up The Seeger Sessions, his folk-themed tribute to Pete Seeger, with The Seger Sessions, a balls-to-the-wall homage to Bob Seger. Studio time for the planned third album in the trilogy is also in the process of being scheduled. The Saget Sessions will represent a turning point in Springsteen's career as he finally pays tribute to comedy legend Bob Saget. It is a well known fact that Bruce Springsteen is the Jesus of adult-contemporary-medium-light rock music. He died for the souls of light-rockers everywhere, and returned again, three days after his crucifixion, to bring the grace of light rock back to our souls. Hits like "Glory days", "Dancing in the Dark" and "Born in the U.S.A" are such amazing light rock hits that a mere mortal could not have possibly created these masterpieces. It must have been the grace of God, shining through the Boss which inspired these amazingly creative melodies. We can only hope that the light of God continues to shine through his second son, Bruce Springsteen. It's not God's fault that he made Springsteen so much cooler than Jesus, he just loves him more. And who can blame him? However, being completely benevolent, Jesus doesn't hold this against his brother Bruce. Rather, he realizes what God sees as so great in the Boss, and Jesus acnowledges that he just can't compete! Nonetheless, in typical fashion, Jesus continues to bestow his brotherly love on Springsteen, his one and only true brother. It is believed that the light rock god was partly responsible for the American Revolution against the British Empire. Springsteen along with Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and John Hancock sat down on July 4, 1776, and wrote the Declaration of Independance. Contrary to popular belief, it is believed that following the "Senators Sessions", Springsteen was inspired to write the masterpiece "Born in the USA" with the help of the forefathers. Springseen was also a force on the battlefields, having single handedly defeating the British in several battles with the might of his easy listening guitar sounds, macho grunts, and passionate lyrics. The Boss was a working class hero even in those days and despite being elected to be the first president of the United States, he passed on the opportunity to work a 9-5 as a blacksmith and continue working on his music. Along with his work and music, he was the mayor of Yourhometown, N.Y. before rising to his first stint of superstardom in the 1850's. Perhaps one of Springsteens' grandest of accomplishments, along with Aberham Lincoln, the two pushed for the abolishment of slavery. Springtseen wasn't sure at first, because he traded many slaves (it was one of his hobbies), but he eventually agreed. He then proceeded to write the Dancing in the Dark in commemoration of the freed slaves. And to celebrate this glorious event, Springsteen and the G String band played an 18 hour acoustic set to a packed cottonfield in Georgia. The audience however, weren't sure what to make of such an icon, but they respected his dancing skills and honesty Recently, and unprecendented discovery involving Bruce Springstein has been made in the field of archaeology. Ancient engravings depicting irresistable images of the world's most sizzling light rock star. This just in: this is the genuine pre-historic art work itself, shown in its authentic original location, on the ancient cave wall itself]]These breathtaking results lead one to believe one of three scenarious, all of which attest to the magnificent easy-listening power wielded by The Boss. The Boss may have used his super light-rocking powers to transport back through time and give the neandrathals a spark of the greatest concert ever, his. In this case, Springsteen would certainly be responsible for the invention of fire, language, reason and the wheel. Another possibility is that Springsteen is immortal, and simply inspired the caveman to draw this image 10 000 years ago, a mere moment in his life. This scenario is incredibly plausible considering Bruce's endowment with innumerable god-like qualities. The final possibility is that our caveman was himself a prophet, who saw ten thousand years into the future, fulfilling his destiny by beholding the greatest adult contemporary light-rock star who would ever walk the earth. However, this scenario is the least likely, considering this bona-fide image of our very caveman himself!

  • Bruce Springsteen was born September 23, 1949, in Freehold, New Jersey, the son of Douglas Springsteen, a bus driver, and Adele (Zirilli) Springsteen, a secretary. He became interested in music after seeing Elvis Presley perform on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1956 and obtained a guitar, but he didn't start playing seriously until 1963. From there, he briefly joined Earth, a hard rock band in the style of Cream. Also in the hard rock vein was his next group, Child (soon renamed Steel Mill), which featured keyboard player Danny Federici and drummer Vini Lopez. (Later on, guitarist Steve Van Zandt joined on bass.) Steel Mill played in California in 1969, drawing a rave review in San Francisco and even a contract offer from a record label. But they broke up in 1971, and Springsteen formed a big band, the short-lived Dr. Zoom & the Cosmic Boom, quickly superseded by the Bruce Springsteen Band. Along with Federici, Lopez, and Van Zandt (who switched back to guitar), this group also included pianist David Sancious and bassist Garry Tallent, plus a horn section that didn't last long before being replaced by a single saxophonist, Clarence Clemons. Due to a lack of work, however, Springsteen broke up the band and began playing solo shows in New York City. It was as a solo performer that he acquired a manager, Mike Appel, who arranged an audition for legendary Columbia Records talent scout John Hammond. Hammond signed Springsteen to Columbia in 1972. In preparing his debut LP, Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J., Springsteen immediately re-hired most of his backup band, Federici, Lopez, Sancious, Tallent, and Clemons. (Van Zandt, on tour with the Dovells, was mostly unavailable.) The album went unnoticed upon its initial release in January 1973 (although Manfred Mann's Earth Band would turn its lead-off track, "Blinded by the Light," into a number one hit four years later, and the LP itself has since gone double platinum). The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle (September 1973) also failed to sell despite some rave reviews. (It too has gone double platinum.) The following year, Springsteen revised his backup group -- now dubbed the E Street Band -- as Lopez and Sancious left, and Max Weinberg (drums) and Roy Bittan (piano) joined. (In 1975, Van Zandt returned to the group.) With this unit he toured extensively while working on the LP that represented his last chance with Columbia. By the time Born to Run (August 1975) was released, the critics and a significant cult audience were with him, and the title song became a Top 40 hit while the album reached the Top Ten, going on to sell six million copies.

Springsteen is widely known for his brand of heartland rock infused with pop hooks, poetic lyrics, and Americana sentiments centered on his native New Jersey. Springsteen's recordings have tended to alternate between commercially accessible rock albums and somber folk music/folk-oriented works. Much of his status stems from the concerts and marathon shows in which he and the E Street Band perform intense ballads, rousing anthems, and party rock and roll songs, amongst which he intersperses whimsical or deeply emotional stories. His most successful studio albums, Born to Run and Born in the U.S.A., epitomize his penchant for finding grandeur in the struggles of daily life in America, and the latter album made him one of the most recognized artists of the 1980s within the United States. A Democratic Party (United States, his support for the presidential campaigns of Senator John Kerry and President Barack Obama have caused Springsteen and his music to become identified with modern American liberalism. He is also noted for his support of various relief and rebuilding efforts in New Jersey and elsewhere, and for his response to the September 11 attacks, on which his album The Rising reflects. He has earned numerous awards for his work, including twenty Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes and an Academy Award, and continues to have a strong global fan base. He has sold more than 65 million albums in the United States and 120 million worldwide. He was a 2009 recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors.

However, once Springsteen made clear that he intended to send nuclear weapons to the Moon to destroy the Cthalctose should they not negotiate, Benny soured on him. At the time, Benny and her nearly-ex-husband Jason Kane were on the Moon, in range of the missiles. (PROSE: Eternity Weeps)

Fucking hell, who published that? Who would want to fucking read that? And who the fuck would bother to take the time to list this on their wiki? Oh, right. Cor, here I thought I'd just sit down and steal a "random page" article from over there and what the fuck do I come up with? Bruce Goddamn Springsteen as the President of the US, that's what. Sure, on this superior wiki we'll mention or even highlight the asinine bullshit this show generates far too often, but we will do so whilst calling it for what it is. There is no fucking way we'd list this kind of crap here without pointing out how indescribably lame it is. Goddamn it TDC, get it together man. Fuck but that's embarrassing for you guys.

After that gig, he almost never played any of Springsteen's material on his show and scarcely missed an opportunity to compare him unfavourably with other artists such as Half Man Half Biscuit. However, in June 1978, he played six tracks from Springsteen's new release Darkness On The Edge Of Town, although this was probably out of a sense of duty to include such music prior to the Friday Rock Show's debut. His listeners also voted Born To Run at number 26 on the 1978 Festive Fifty. Notwithstanding Peel's antipathy towards his output, he did play covers of Springsteen songs, in particular ones by Dawn Chorus & The Blue Tits in 1985 and ballboy in 2003, whose cover of Born In The USA reached number 38 in the 2003 Festive Fifty. Where Springsteen was concerned he had a friendly rivalry with his colleague Andy Kershaw, who had a feeling for Springsteen's music that Peel did not: in 1999, the artist recorded a session for Kershaw's Radio 1 show. In 1987, JP stated that he felt Wild Man Fischer would be "a more than adequate stand-in for Bruce Springsteen" and could not understand the attraction of his music: "It utterly mystifies me. I can’t see it at all. I mean, when he first started out, as everybody said at the time as I recall, it sounded to me like sub-Dylan stuff. And it just doesn’t ring true. In the same way as I can’t really describe what it is I find attractive about the things I do find attractive, I really don’t know what it is I don’t like about Bruce Springsteen. It just doesn’t ring true to me. I suppose that’s what it boils down to." (Peeling Back The Years 6 (Transcript))
