Synopsis
  • Inspired by Perry White to strike out on his own and do some real investigative reporting, Jimmy Olsen, with the help of his Newsboy Legion friend Big Words, draws out the super-powered ex-mob torch Arclight. A battle with Superman ensues, and the Man of Steel absorbs all of Arclight's, energy, seriously incapacitating himself in the process. Emil Hamilton is able to extract Arclight's energy, healing Superman. Jimmy rushes to the planet to present Perry with his story, but Ron Troupe has already written a piece on these events, and Perry refuses to pull it. Jimmy is furious, and quits the Daily Planet.
