  • Weequays were a race of humanoids who came from the Outer Rim planet of Sriluur, near Hutt Space. Their home was a harsh desert planet, leading to the species' tanned skin tone and rough, sandy, wrinkled skin. Their eyes were dark and slightly recessed into their skull. See Weequay for more.

  • Their verbal communication was unsophisticated, but they had a wonderfully expressive language conveyed by giving off pheromones and smelling each other. This led to amusing situations, such as being unable to communicate in hippies' homes where patchouli incense filled the air, let alone near sewers, fishing docks, garbage dumps, silage, or any other smelly environments. Oddly enough, Jabba Desilijic Tiure, one of the galaxy's smelliest denizens, had his palace patrolled by several Weequay guards, who usually lost their pheromone sense within a few weeks of working there. It would be the equivalent of having a telephone conversation in a wind tunnel.
  • Average Height: 1.7 meters Average Lifespan: 50 years Weequay are leathery-faced, swarthy-skinned humanoids distinguished by their wiry physiques and topknots of long, stringy hair. They are physically tough, with well-honed reflexes. The homeworld of the Weequay is now lost, but was believed to be a desert world with beautiful indigo dunes. For the past four thousand years, the Weequay have dwelt along the Outer Rim, mostly in an enclave on Nar Shaddaa.
  • Weequay have gnarled, coarse skin that allowed them to blend in with the deserts of their homeworld. Because it was thick and tough, the skin of the Weequay also provided an measuer of protection against the elements. Weequays communicated with each other through pheromonal discharges, but these exchanges only seemed to work within individual Weequay clans. To other races, they were simply smelly beings. The older they age their horns under their chin grows One of the best-known Weequay was Hondo Ohnaka.

It would be the equivalent of having a telephone conversation in a wind tunnel. Weequays were also notable for their weird-ass polytheistic religion, which included the moon god Quay. Weequay religious rites were brutal and often involved murder, cannibalism, incest, rape, flagellation, self-immolation, and watching The View. Quay spoke to his followers through a ritual device called the "quay," which was a small sphere with a selection of prerecorded answers imprinted on a voice chip. Whenever a question was posed to the quay, it would respond with "signs point to yes" or "my sources say no" or "it is decidedly so" or "portents vague, ask again later." The bit about the quay is totally canon, too. Hondo Ohnaka led a pack of bad-ass Weequay pirates around the galaxy. They captured Count Dooku once and would have captured Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker too, but they got drunk and forgot about them.

For the past four thousand years, the Weequay have dwelt along the Outer Rim, mostly in an enclave on Nar Shaddaa. Thanks to a well-developed hoarding instinct and a racial tradition of serving as mercenary troops to the wealthy Hutts, the Weequay are usually reasonably well off. They are extremely gregarious, often traveling in small packs or large bands, and it is said that they can communicate among their own kind without speech.

  • The Weequay are a sentient species native to Sriluur in the Outer Rim. During the Jedi Civil War they were a very common sight on the Human centric and xenophobia planet Taris where they were limited to the Lower City and they were often found as members of the Black Vulkars gang. Tanno Vik, a companion of the Trooper is a Weequay. Often quiet and enigmatic, Weequays can be found throughout the galaxy, from the lower levels of Coruscant to the distant desert flats of Tatooine. They are a humanoid species with coarse, leathery skin and bald heads. By tradition, a Weequay wears a braided topknot on one side of his or her head. Hailing from the arid world of Sriluur on the remote Sisar Run, Weequays are a laconic people deeply rooted in ancient traditions. Much of their culture is structured around the reverence of a pantheon of gods, one of the foremost being Quay, the God of the Moon. The Weequays keep a wide array of trinkets and totems to facilitate communication with their gods. Swindling off-worlder entrepreneurs have taken advantage of this cultural trait, and infested Sriluur with countless useless baubles said to divine the intentions of the deities. Weequay society is clan based, and a Weequay's identity defers to a clan. Often, individuality is so secondary that Weequays do not take proper names, unless leaving Sriluur or dealing with off-worlders. Weequays do not need names to identify one another, as their pheromonic methods of communication can convey a great deal of information without words. Though some may view their ways as quaint and primitive, Weequays have built large cities on Sriluur, such as Dnalvec. These cities enjoy much trade from the busy Sisar Run. Most Weequay cities are built around a thal, a religious shrine to which devoted followers leave offerings of foods or valuables. The close proximity of Sriluur to Hutt Space means that many Weequays are employed or enslaved by Hutt crime lords as bodyguards or enforcers. Such underworld careers have led to Weequays being found throughout the galaxy. Weequay expatriates are easily identified by their topknots. Custom dictates that a Weequay grows a braid for each Sriluurian year off planet. Upon returning to Sriluur, a Weequay shaves off the braids. Source SWTORStrategies

The older they age their horns under their chin grows In general, Weequays do not have individual names, as the concept of individuality was not present in their civilziation. Only a handful of Weequay were known have adopted a name, most often those that had traveled offplanet. As a people, the Weequay were quiet and dangerously violent by nature, and often found employment as soldiers, guards and mercenaries for the Hutts. They were, for the most part, nomadic, moving across the surface of Sriluur in search of food and water. Some clan units managed to establish settlements on the coastlines, where they erected religious shrines to honor their gods. The Weequay preferred to remain low on the technological scale, and worshipped the moon which orbits Sriluur and its god, Quay. The name "Weequay" literally meant "follower of Quay." The Weequay appease the god Quay by sacrificing a large beast after battling it. The beast most often sacrificed was the Bantha. In order to ensure that they remained in Quay's good graces, each Weequay carried a small sphere that was believed to contain Quay's essence. This sphere was common throughout the galaxy as a random-outcome generator used as a toy, but the Weequay regarded its ability to answer questions as a sign of Quay's existence. One of the most interesting things about the Weequay was their written language, which was formed from stones that were woven into long braids of hair to create symbols and characters. The Weequay lived in relative peace with their planetary neighbors, the Houk, for many years, but the racial tensions between the two races have erupted several times into all-out war. The last of these wars was resolved just prior to the Battle of Yavin. One of the best-known Weequay was Hondo Ohnaka.
