Based in Ontario, California and affiliated with the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings, the team will play its home games at the Citizens Business Bank Arena. It is a relocation of the existing Manchester Monarchs AHL franchise, joining several other AHL franchises to form a new AHL Pacific Division in California. The Reign will replace the ECHL team of the same name, which began play in 2008 and will continue to do so until the end of the 2014–15 season, after which they will move to Manchester, New Hampshire to play as the Manchester Monarchs.
