  • Akodo Gamaro was a bushi of the Lion Clan. After the Scorpion Coup the Akodo family was disbanded and he became the ronin Gamaro. He was disgusted with samurai and led a bandit gang in the Spine of the World Mountains. Gamaro raided caravans, and from one of his attacks he seized Goseki's Daisho, the Ancestral Weapon of the defunct Goseki family. Gamaro took the blades as his personal weapons, which would become the target of a quest set out by a minor courtier, Otomo Banu, in 1126. Groups of samurai sought the swords to gain the award that Banu offered, the control of the disputed city of Toshi Ranbo.
