Bet tells Ken and Deirdre why she's in Weatherfield; she's had a two year relationship with a bloke called Phil Bennett. Phil borrowed £100,000 off all his friends including Bet to open a night club. The club was open a week. She and his friends are suing him for their money and the case is in Manchester. Bet tells Ken that if she loses the case she'll be debt up to her neck with all the legal fees.
