| abstract | - Mark Bickerton (born 1963) is a senior storyliner on Coronation Street. He took up the post in 2009, but has a long history with the series as a story associate, working on stories including Richard Hillman's reign of terror, and creating characters including Cilla Brown and even having the distinction of naming Great Dane Schmeichel. Prior to his involvement with Coronation Street, Bickerton worked as a freelance writer for Family Affairs and Hollyoaks - where he was also a story consultant and story editor. In 2007, Bickerton wed 'Yana Lumb' actress Jayne Tunnicliffe, whom he met on the set of Coronation Street.
