The runabout was subsequently hijacked by the android, later discovered to be Noonien Soong, but shot down by Admiral Andell's Starfleet forces by using an ion cannon. The runabout crash-landed in an unpopulated marsh near the coast. (TNG - Cold Equations novel: The Persistence of Memory) By March 2384, the Roanoke had been repaired and was deployed, under the command of Lieutenant Commander Havers, to conduct a search of Tirana III for the missing Federation Security Service interceptor, Sirriam. (TNG - Cold Equations novel: Silent Weapons) Although the vessel's class wasn't specified, given the series and time period it was likely a Danube-class. Although never mentioned as such in the novel, the USS prefix is also speculation.
