Quark informed the Tarahongians and Barbo was imprisoned in a Tarahong detention center. They released him in 2369. (DS9: "The Nagus") This species was only mentioned in dialogue. According to Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets I") and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), there was a star system named Tarahong, which might possibly be the system of origin for this species, in the Alpha Quadrant. The system's primary was an A-class star. In the late 24th century, it was an independent system. According to StarTrek.com, the Tarahongians were from the planet Tarahong (pronounced "tair-uh-HAWG").
