Light is very cheerful, and seemingly oblivious to how much Shadow hates him. He is happy to allow you to pass after you complete the puzzle. It is given as a reward after the quest by Brother Samwell, and it can be worn, be spoken to while in your inventory, and switched to Shadow. If lost, it can be reclaimed from the Statue of Death in the citadel. On reclaiming it will be removed from your inventory, bank, equipment or even keepsake box if you had one already. The mask is upgraded after completion of the Dishonour among Thieves quest. This upgrade gives the mask, when worn, a 1 in 30 chance in combat that a wight ranger will spawn and fight for you. The mask cannot be used with Dreadnips and the wights will not appear in PvP. If you destroy the mask in its upgraded form, you can still reclaim it at the Statue of Death, but you will need to re-buy the upgraded from Moia for 10,000 coins, after the Dishonour among Thieves quest. The mask can also be worn in the pocket slot, thus saving space for a helmet being worn. To do this, right-click on the upgraded version of the mask and click Switch. This will give you the option to `Switch to pocket slot`. Returning the mask works vise versa, Selecting the `Switch to mask` option.
