abstract
  • Universities are places where qualified people can go to get challenging education in difficult subjects. Universities give degrees and diplomas to show that their students have completed the courses successfully. Most university students go there directly after finishing school and getting whatever qualifications they need for university entrance. Older people sometimes go to university as well. Universities are safe-zones for liberals with very low levels of Republicans. The younger generations are more liberal. Students and lecturers at universities are usually too intelligent to be Conservatives. However, Pensacola Christian College, Bob Jones University and Liberty University are safe-zones for conservatives where liberals are banned and expelled. Don't go to either of these colleges, their rules are out-of-porportion. For example, if you leave campus to go to a movie theatre, you are expelled. They also let rapists stay and abuse victims are told to repent or be expelled (sometimes both happens). Again, DON'T go to Pensacola Christian, Bob Jones or Liberty University. If you are at a university, never join the college republicans; they claim to be adding to the diversity of the campus, but their "catch the illegal immigrant" games/signs prove otherwise.

Heroes can find campuses in Steel Canyon, Croatoa, and Founders' Falls. Villains can find a campus in Cap au Diable. A series of tutorial missions for the invention system can be completed through Admissions Officer Lenk in Steel Canyon's University for heroes or through Dean John Yu in Cap au Diable's University for villains. Completing the tutorial awards the Inventor Badge. The character will also receive salvage and a recipe to create a level-appropriate Standard Invention Origin Enhancement. It is used to research, which is crucial to furthering one's empire. * In game quote:It is normal for any lord to surround himself with wise and educated men. The University helps discover the secrets of complicated advances much faster, and more importantly - cheaper, to make them a bit more affordable. -Necessary to research other technologies.-Decreases the time for research by 0.45 times for Version 4 realms and by 0.25 times for all other Versions.-Decreases the price for research by 0.02 times for Version 4 realms and by 0.05 times for all other Versions*.* The formula to calculate the decrease in price is: (Base price of the technology)/(1+coefficient*whatever university level you have).
  • Universities were institutions for higher learning. The city of Theed, on the planet Naboo, housed several universities that trained artists, educators, and politicians. The University of Bar'leth was located in the Core Worlds. During her studies at Reena University, Ansibella Delu worked on the propaganda poster Count Dooku: Words of Truth.
  • As a building incapable of attacking or producing units, the placement of a University must not be given much thought. All it needs to do is provide researches and optimally stand until it's done doing so. Once all necessary technologies have been researched, the University is a completely useless building and can freely be deleted. As the University provides essential technologies for defensive structures and missile firing units, it should be built as soon as enough wood is available, especially when a turtling strategy is chosen or the player goes heavy on ranged units. Ballistics and Chemistry are the most important technologies here and as such, their research should be prioritized.
  • The University is a type of Town Building. The University may only be built by 7 of the races, namely the High Elves, High Men, Nomads, Orcs, Beastmen, Dark Elves and Draconians. They are referred to as "the 7 advanced races" solely because of this ability. A town must already contain a Sages' Guild in order to construct a University. The University's base construction cost is File:Icon Production.png . The University itself provides File:Icon Research.png per turn, applied directly to the current Research effort undertaken by the town's controlling wizard. It is not much of an investment, given that the University has an Upkeep Cost of File:Icon Gold.png , but the cumulative effect of having many Universities can be quite noticeable. More importantly, the University's primary function is to unlock up to 5 additional buildings for construction - all of which are extremely useful. This includes the War College, Oracle, Mechanicians' Guild, Wizards' Guild and Bank. The University is only one component in unlocking each of them, but without the University none of these important buildings is available at all. This is why only those races that have access to the University can develop their towns to truly awe-inspiring productiveness. As mentioned above, the University requires an Upkeep Cost of File:Icon Gold.png per turn for its maintenance. If you're pressed for Gold, a University can be sold back for File:Icon Gold.png .
