  • Engines are propulsion systems that make the ships in the game move. Speed of a ship is determined largely by the sum of the speed ratings of the engines placed on the ship.
  • INTAKES are the hydrogen ram scoops on the front of the spacecraft which fuel it by gathering spaceborne hydrogen. Upgrades alter the effectiveness and the profile of the vehicle; the more effectively a ship takes in fuel the more efficient its engines. The tradeoff is that, unless countermeasures are installed, this also increases the radar signature. The appearance of the ship is altered as well: more primitive intakes look like physical fan blades, others glow different colors as heat capacity increases.
  • ENGINES is a Thomas/TUGS parody series.
  • This is a group of pages which are executables or venues which can be used to manage information. The executables are usually those which can reside on the user's machine, or are hosted on the local intranet of the user. The venues are such things as wikis, or other internet sites which allow a user access and edit privileges, and are used to communicate, collaborate, or to message each other (including such things as forums and chat rooms.
  • An engine is a fuel powered mechanical device for providing power to an RC driveline. This is not to be confused with a motor, which is an electric motor. Interchanging the terms can be very confusing in RC, because models can be powered by either one.
  • The room housing the coolant tubes vital to the function of the engines are some of the best protected on any vessel; AI troops tend to camp the room with more frequency than the others. However, much like the life support systems, these coolant tubes can be repaired if damaged, though not if they are destroyed completely. It only takes a few moments to fully repair them with the standard tools of any faction's engineer.
  • Glest is more than just a game, it is a 3D RTS engine, meaning it can be customized based on the mods used to create the feeling of an entirely different game. Combined with the open-source nature of Glest, this makes it highly versatile. However, the original Glest fork is no longer being developed, with development having instead spread to the MegaGlest and Glest Advanced Engine forks. These two forks expand further on what Glest had, and add new features, making them the most common choice of development for modders and players today.
