Elias found Ruriko in 2376 on an unnamed planet in the Gamma Quadrant. She was the only surviving drone on a crashed Borg ship (in fact the assimilated USS Valkyrie) and was in a state approximating suspended animation in her alcove. Vaughn transported her to the USS Defiant and ordered Dr Bashir to begin removing her implants to start the process of resorting her back to humanity.
