When Kelly offers an alternative escape plan because she doesn´t trust the army´s intentions, he sides with her, and leads her, her daughter Molly, Ricky, Jesse and Drew to the hospital. They manage to fly away, but the shockwave from the nuclear explosion causes turbulences, forcing them to crash. Dallas awakes, dazed, to find a group of camouflaged troops surrounding the group. Dallas delivers the gun to them in return for medical help for Ricky. Only he, his brother, Kelly and his daughter survived the event in Gunnison.
