After the Second Clone War was ignited during the Battle of Athloopa, Darth Monarchist directed a plan to reawaken the original Confederate Droid Army. This plot succeeded and allowed their army to exceed the military strength of the New Republic. When Mustafar was taken and converted into the Planetary Energy Harvester, designs for prototype EnHar variants were developed, and many droids based on the EnHar technology were created to defend the PEH, some of which were exported offplanet. When the Separatists established a secret mining base to extract and purify Novilium-428 on Tatooine, the Novilium line of vehicles was developed, including the Supernova.
