  • The Yakuza, a.k.a. The Poison Fists of the Pacific Rim is the Japanese Mafia. They were hired by the Springfield Investorettes to take on the Springfield Mafia and ended up in a massive fight between the two on the front lawn of the Simpsons' house. One of the members in the fight was also quiet, which Homer (correctly) deduced meant that he was extremely skilled with fighting (although he was unable to witness his taking down multiple Mafia men due to Marge forcing Homer inside). The same quiet member eventually ended up shoved through the kitchen window during the fight and then left through the front door to return to the battle, although not before politely apologizing and requesting that the Simpson family forgive him.

  • Yakuza (やくざ or ヤクザ), also known as gokudō (極道), are members of traditional organized crime groups in Japan. Today, the yakuza are one of the largest organized crime phenomena in the world. In Japanese legal terminology, yakuza organizations are referred to as bōryokudan, literally "violence groups". Yakuza members consider this an insult, as bōryokudan is a term which can be applied to any violent criminal. In the Western press they are sometimes called the "Japanese mafia," by analogy with other traditionally Italian-Sicilian organized crime groups of the same name.
  • In the Western press, yakuza are often called the "Japanese Mafia," due to the similarities their organization bears to Sicilian crime groups, which include eating a lot of pasta, and end there. "Yakuza" literally means "bad hand" in Japanese, a reference to the disproportionately large amount of time Japanese gangsters spend spreading their willies with cream cheese and manually pleasuring themselves. In order to access their genitals with ease, many yakuza wear only diapers. Some modern yakuza have abandoned criminal activity altogether in favor of lurking in bagel shop restrooms and wildly masturbating. Bagel shop owners hate yakuza.

Far before any working courts existed in Japan, Yakuza existed. If your clan's chief couldn't or wouldn't help in a dispute that you had with someone, you could turn to the local Yakuza for help. They solved the problem in return for an amount of money. This is true even today. However, be prepared for the problem to be solved, frequently, in a more brutal manner than if you had turned to the police.

One of their main headquarters was the Mitsugi Casino run by Oyabun Mitsugi himself. When not ruling the streets, the Yakuza enjoyed placing large bets on dice games until the Four Elements returned, demanding that their leader allow the ninjas to catch Musashi. Air insulted the Yakuza, now knowing that the Yakuza's efficiency was below average. One Yakuza member took offence and brandished his sword, but was told to withdraw.
  • "Yakuza" (ヤクザ) is a general title that refers to Japanese crime organizations. As a word it can be used in either plural or singular reference, such as describing one individual, or the organization as a whole. Similar in scope of operation to the American and Italian Mafia, the Japanese Yakuza is responsible for a variety of both legitimate (such as various agricultural and charitble works) and illegal business activities (prostitution, drug, and arms smuggling to name a few), albeit with a much higher presence and level of acceptance in public society. Famous for elaborate, full body tattooes ("irezumi" or 刺青 in Japanese), the various Yakuza groups hold equally complicated codes of honor, conduct, and rituals.

  • The Yakuza (ヤクザ or やくざ?), also known as gokudō (極道?), are members of traditional organized crime syndicates in Japan. Rising to power in the urban centers of medieval Japan as an answer to the intensely hierarchical and honor-bound Samurai, to this day, the Yakuza are known for their clandestine activities and an intricately organized and ritualized criminal culture of their own. A culture perhaps most readily signified by their custom of elaborate ceremonial tattooing and ritual mutilation, such as the cutting off of fingers or fingertips, known as Yubitsume (指を飛ばす, "finger shortening").

  • Japanese mobsters, often called "the Japanese Mafia" in the West, euphemistically as "anti-social organizations" and "violent groups" by most Japanese, and "ninkyo dantai" ("charitable organizations") by themselves. The term refers solely to the members of crime organizations, not to the organizations themselves, which may take many different names. The yakuza insist that their organizations originated in Robin Hood-style outlaw groups and vigilante groups during Japan's feudal era, but scholars believe that they are in fact descended from roving bands of Ronin who harassed and extorted the local peasantry. Yakuza resemble The Mafia in that they are very organized crime syndicates, with strict codes of behavior and etiquette, and encompass many levels of ritual and formality. Unlike the Mafia and the Chinese Triads, though, they are not secret societies, and often operate openly, even so far as to maintain offices and carry business cards. Like their Western counterparts, though, they derive most of their profit from extortion, protection rackets, human trafficking, and the like. Yakuza like to maintain that they provide a service to the community, which in return owes them both respect and money. A consequence of being ultra-violent while maintaining a strict honor code is that in fiction they sometimes get to have Samurai traits, or at least katana. The stereotyped yakuza character matches the real-world profile fairly closely: he is heavily tattooed (so identified with delinquency that many bathhouses forbid people with tattoos on the premises), male, and may be missing a finger (either as a loyalty test or as punishment, one reason Four-Fingered Hands are rarely seen in Japanese media). He wears an expensive suit and dark sunglasses, and walks with a distinctive swagger that announces his profession. While he claims a benign interest in the community, he is as likely to be as violent and destructive as his Western counterpart, especially if he feels he is not receiving the respect he deserves. Yakuza are so prominent in Japanese culture that they have even spawned an entire genre of films which are as distinct from western gangster films as the yakuza are from western gangsters. While many of these films are little known in the west, movies like Tokyo Drifter and Battles Without Honor and Humanity pioneered many tropes that western audiences have since come to associate with martial arts and action pictures, and their influence can be detected in productions as diverse as Kill Bill and Cowboy Bebop. Female yakuza are very rare in the male-dominated Japanese society, but if one appears, she is definitely a Dragon Lady. As Japan Takes Over the World is quite typical for the genre, expect Yakuza to to appear quite often in most cyberpunk fiction. See also The Mafiya, The Mafia, The Irish Mob, The Triads and the Tongs, The Cartel, The Syndicate, Mafia Princess. And then there's also the film The Yakuza and the videogame Yakuza, also known as Ryu ga Gotoku. Examples of Yakuza include:
  • The Japanese mafia. Tulley owes the Yakuza hundreds of thousands of dollars as he tries to find the Elando Cortez.
  • Yakuza (やくざ or ヤクザ) also known as gokudou, are members of traditional organized crime groups that originate from Japan. In Japanese legal terminology, yakuza organizations are referred to as boryokudan (暴力団, "violence groups"), which more traditional "samurai heritage" Yakuza members consider an insult as boroyokudan is applied to any violent criminal. Unlike many organized crime groups, like the Triads and the Mafia, which evolved from secret societies, the model of the Yakuza was the machi yakko (町奴, "town servant"), vigilantes protectors within the community (Although many citizens also view them as kabukimono or crazy ones, for their propensity toward violence, vulgar slang, and bizarre appearance) or the masterless samurai ronin. As a result, at least in the JIS and it's protectorates, Yakuza groups maintain open offices, often with a wooden plank on the front door displaying the group name and their emblem. Yakuza members often wear sunglasses and flashy suits so that their profession can be immediately recognized by civilians (堅気, katagi). Members typically wear insignia pins on their suits, and, if needed, can display their tattoos or customized cyberware.
  • Yakuza is a character theme, generally flavored a scoundrel that rejects conformity and order. Despite being scoundrels, they likewise abide by a code of honor.[Dr404] It is designed for martial classes with Charisma as one of their used attributes.
Historically, many Yakuza clans trace their family lineages far back into the feudal periods of 1700s Japan, with some affiliations claiming direct connections to a warrior class known as Ronin. Other names and titles for the organized crime elements of Japan also exist, such as Boryokudan (an unfavourable handle, popular with law enforcement agencies), and ninkyo dentai (popular with admirers, supporters, and actual members of the Yakuza itself).
  • Yakuza (ヤクザ), also known as gokudō, are members of traditional organized crime syndicates in Japan. The Japanese police call them bōryokudan (暴力団), literally "violence group", while the yakuza call themselves "ninkyō dantai" (任侠団体 (or 仁侠団体), "chivalrous organizations"). Yakuza was named after the worst gambling hand, ya (8), ku (9) and za (3).
  • The Yakuza is a Japanese criminal organization that appears in Grand Theft Auto 1, Grand Theft Auto 2, Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Advance and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. They are a reference to the Yamaguchi-Gumi Yakuza family and have appeared more times than any other gang in the Grand Theft Auto series. They appear as a neutral gang in GTA III, while in GTA: LCS they appear as the main group of minor antagonists alongside the Diablos.

In Predators, Hanzo is a member of the Yakuza.
  • Yakuza (Japanese: 極道), are members of a transnational organized crime syndicate in Japan and the United States. The Yakuza call themselves "Harukichi-gumi" (任侠団体} after their founder. The group is notorious for their strict codes of conduct and very organized nature, though this has dwindled due to the new generation of recruits. They have a large presence in Japan and a slight presence in America with an estimated 33,000 members. Due to the modern age, the Yakuza are forced to lower their standards when recruiting new members. In the past, choice recruits came from the traditional bakuto gambler and tekiya peddler classes, but today a rebel spirit and a willingness to commit a crime for an oyabun are all that is necessary to join the western Yakuza ranks. The new members currently come from the Bosozuku, street punks known for their love of music and motorcycles.

  • (Males should contact Nerio and females should contact Shika for information on the faction) The Yakuza Organization The Yakuza see themselves as Machi-yakko, the people's rescuer and helper. For Yakuza it doesn't matter where you come from or from which class of society you belong. You can become a member anyway. Yakuza takes care of the misfits in the society. Yakuza members can be youths that have been abandoned by their parents, youths that not have managed the high pressure from the school, refugees from Korea, China etc. Their boss becomes like their father and their comrades like brothers. Yakuza offers not just companionship but also money, status, authority. A part of a group where you feel useful and needed. There are no thresholds or requirements in order to become a member. But when you are inside there is obedience to the superiors.

He's by far the only rilux not to harm anyone, that he looks to as friends or family. He will be a great help to everyone to know about the Rilux themselves. However, he may be the greatest ally or the deadliest foe, and it looks though no one trusts having a Rilux on board. but Grace will convince everyone that Yakuza is the best card they have to knowing their enemy and possibly the first special Rilux of the century to be helpful to mankind. Yakuza will grow to be something useful or even greater than the unit has ever seen in such a creature. Could Yakuza be the one that will save Tobias's life and everyone else from the rilux and many greater threats?

  • Following the defeat of their master, The Void, at the hands of Joe Musashi, the Four Elements began to work for the Yakuza, controlling gambling, drugs and vice on the streets of Tokyo. The Elements were successful in bringing in Musashi, but Air's plan was to capture him but not subdue him in an attempt to teach Mitsugi of the Shinobi's power. Musashi awoke from his state of prana and attacked the casino boss, leading to him ordering the Yakuza to kill the spy. Saito, a Yakuza member, proved the least effective when he killed one of his own colleagues. The rest faired little better, with Shinobi single-handedly beating them all down before escaping through the skylight. At the request of Mitsugi, the Yakuza joined the Elements on a hunt for Musashi. The alliance found their way to the region of the Roofworlders but were soon ambushed by Musashi's new friends. The fight proved tough for the criminals, with many of them pushed out of the battle by the skilled roof dwellers. Even the trained ninjas found things tough, but a lucky shot by a retreating Yakuza managed to hit the shoulder of Kotomi-sensei. Four members later returned to continue the battle, but were all captured and knocked unconscious before it could even begin.

Z jednej strony reprezentują mroczny podziemny półświatek, kontrolując i animując lokalne działania przestępcze.
