Dungeon Exploitation- It's important that players refrain from exploiting any discovered flaws, especially during sieges. Reports that provide adequate evidence that someone is 'intently' exploiting the game will be investigated thoroughly. Multiple Sieges - Any attempts to use the same character in multiple sieges per weekend will be considered an exploit. You can siege multiple times with different characters. Dungeon Monopolies- Do not funnel revenue from multiple dungeons into one guild or use alt guilds to prevent others from sieging your dungeon. Dungeons are for everyone, not a select few. Since there are only a few sieges per week, we cannot tolerate a guild that is using subordinate guilds to own multiple dungeons or prevent others from sieging a dungeon.

A Player Association (PA) has at least 5 members, one of which is the PA Leader. A Guild Hall was once needed to create and manage the PA, but upgrades have since been installed that have removed this need. After a few years working/learning with his master, some crafts sent their apprentices on jouneymanship for a year and a day, to learn skills from other masters. The journeyman carries with him a letter from his guildmaster to identify him. During this period the journeyman may not visit or even come near his hometown. Whenever the master thinks the apprentice is ready for it he is required to make a "masterpiece", by which he is judged. This judging is done by his own master as well as the other masters of that guild. When the apprentice passes this test, he may call himself a master of the craft. He also earned the right to marry and set up his own business.

  • A guild is an association of characters, with eligibility for a guild hall. Guilds are a typical feature of fantasy multiplayer games. New players do not have a guild, so they explore the world and meet many other players. They eventually select a preferred group of players to adventure with. These players join together in a "clan" or "guild". In Oberin, each member of a guild receives a guild tag on the server. The guild tag shows membership in a guild; identify a player, and look in a Description window, to see the tag. GMs assign guild tags to characters. These are the ways of the guilds of Oberin. * A new guild requires a minimum of five characters, who must choose a name of the guild. These characters assemble somewhere in Oberin and receive their tags from a GM. (Guilds in Oberin Play Guide) * Each guild decides its own purpose and rules. These might include the role of the guild in Oberin, the leadership of the guild, the guild ranks, the required behavior of each member, and the rules for admitting new members. * Most guilds have a single leader of the guild. Some guilds have officers below the leader. * Existing guilds may recruit more members. First the guild decides which character to admit. Then in a typical case, the admitted character meets the leader of the guild, who calls a GM to get the tag. * A guild may have a guild hall. * Each character may join at most one guild. A character may leave one guild to join another guild. A player with two characters may have them join different guilds. * GMs may force the disbanding of any guild of less than five members. (Forum thread: Guild Requirements)

Each guild headquarters has all the standard NPCs (e.g. healer, salesman, trainer, etc) and will be safe from guards while inside. If you gain entrance to a guild without permission (e.g. teleporting the watchman away), you may use a scroll of incognito or a disguise kit to reset the status of the guild to neutral. Even after expiry you will be able to use guild service as if you were a member, excluding quests, the Thieves' Guild fence and reserving spellbooks in Mage's Guild. If you're using incognito, don't Save & Exit inside a guild after incognito expires or the guild NPCs will be hostile the next time you play. You can change guilds at any time you want, simply by completing the recruitment test for another guild. Switching guilds deletes all progress in guild quests and nullifies rank.

  • A Guild was a feature similar to teams removed from LEGO Universe sometime before the start of alpha testing. Like teams, guilds had a private chat, and leaders, who could kick members from the guild. However, unlike teams, guilds were not disbanded when all the members logged out. Additional features of guilds included guild leaders being able to set a name for the guild upon creation, members being able to see when other guild members were online, and what worlds other members were in. While guilds were available in the pre-alpha as of April 2009, they were not present in alpha, and never were re-added to the game. Despite this, a non-working guild button could be seen in the list of options after interacting with another player until late beta. Some things, such as Johnny Umami, a poll on the LEGO Universe website, and a developer screenshot of a guild being created in the modern game, indicated that guilds were planned to be re-added to the game at some point, likely in the Kingdoms update. However, due to the closure of LEGO Universe, this never happened.

In addition to the main public guild, the Union of the Golden Chalice, which is present in all towns except Ghor, there are two private guilds only accessible after completing specific quests. These can only be accessed in certain cities.
