Rayz and Waffe received word that the Sith holocrons of Darths Ramage and Chosis were coming up for sale on the Coruscant black market, and returned to the capital covertly to obtain the valuable items; it is unknown whether they were acting on the orders of Darth Talon or pursuing their own agenda. After briefly attempting to find the holocrons themselves, the two Sith instead took to following former Jedi Eche Parunam, trusting she would lead them to the holocrons. The Twi'lek did not disappoint, and Rayz and Waffe tracked her to the warehouse where Synix Fer'faloon had hidden the holocrons. She temporarily escaped from them, and as they raced to catch up, the catwalk was bombed by Rahli, leaving a chasm too wide to cross. Forced to detour, the Sith only caught up with Parunam after she had been mortally wounded by Rahli and Wek Lekatro. They closed on her, only to sense danger. Darth Waffe, seeking to become the Sith Master himself, attempted to injure Rayz and leave him, but he had acted before becoming powerful enough, and Rayz crippled him with a lightsaber strike. Leaving his apprentice to be consumed by the grenade Eche detonated with her dying breath, Rayz rode out the shockwave with only minor injuries, escaping the scene before the Jedi arrived.
