  • Tirion, known fully as Tirion upon Túna, was the city of the Ñoldor in Valinor in Aman. It was from here that Finwë ruled, and where his sons Fëanor, Fingolfin and Finarfin lived. J.R.R. Tolkien's original name for this city - until the final development of his many tales of the First Age, as accounted in The History of Middle-earth - was Kôr.
  • Tirion is the easternmost settlement on Arkus Isle, and the capital of that "province". It is a port village that sees some trade from the Apenic Sea. The only road west leads to Thoran.

Desweiteren wurde in den Gärten, unterhalb des Turms, ein Sämling des Baums Telperion, einer der zwei Bäume von Valinor, angepflanzt, der Galathilion genannt wurde. Seine Sprößlinge waren später in ganz Eldamar verbreitet.

  • Tirion, conosciuta anche come Kôr o Kortirion, è una delle città della terra benedetta di Aman costruita poco dopo l'arrivo dei Noldor a Valinor sulla cima del colle di Túna. Questa città fu la capitale dei Noldor e qui vissero Finwë e i suoi figli Fëanor, Fingolfin e Finarfin fino all'Ottenebramento di Valinor e alla Fuga dei Noldor. Quando Turgon costruì nel Beleriand la propria città di Gondolin si ispirò a Tirion e vi profuse tutta l'arte del suo popolo. Dopo la morte di Finwë e la partenza di Fëanor e Fingolfin la città venne governata da Finarfin, il figlio più giovane della Casa di Finwë.
