Its only appearance was made during the Attack of X, where Dr. Light fused with Circus, but he was unable to get to X, due to the door's small size. Dr. Light also used Circus in the storyline "All Good Things" to fight the merged form of Nate, Proto Man, and Mynd. Circus appears as a recolor of the Maverick Flame Mammoth from Mega Man X.

Gillian Taylor was certain that there would be a media circus when George and Gracie were shipped out of the Cetacean Institute. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home) While presiding over a hearing that would decide whether Quinn had a right to be euthanized, Kathryn Janeway warned Q that she would not have the proceedings turned into a circus. (VOY: "Death Wish") B'Elanna Torres asked Seven of Nine if she remembered the way a particular Jefferies tube on USS Voyager had looked before she had turned it into a Borg circus. (VOY: "The Gift") Citing Leonard and Roy as examples, The Doctor compared Reginald Barclay's workplace to a three-ring circus. (VOY: "Life Line") In the final draft script of TOS: "Court Martial" , prosecuting attorney Areel Shaw accused defense attorney Samuel T. Cogley of attempting to turn Captain Kirk's court martial into a circus. This remark was in response to Cogley urging the court to adjourn and reconvene onboard the USS Enterprise in order to question the starship's computer. Cogley replied to Shaw's accusation, "Yes! A circus! Do you know what the first circus was, Lieutenant Shaw? An arena... where men met danger face to face, and lived or died. In that sense, this is a circus... for in this arena, Captain Kirk will live or die... for if you take his command away he is a dead man."

Without a permanent base to live in, the heroes would travel in circus disguises and entertain villagers, particularly in and around the Emerald Hill Zone. They were forced to drop this act when Super Sonic destroyed the caravan. Another travelling circus appeared in the Marko's Magic Football story. The circus had arrived in North Sterlington and was situated close to the Toy Tower. Marko had just been given the responsibility of defeating the evil Colonel Brown and visited the circus to acquire some help. However, the clowns at the circus also worked for Brown and tried to attack the hero. A hidden sniper managed to kill Marko but, thanks to an Extra Life, he was resurrected and vapourised both the sniper and a clown. He was forced to flee when more clowns chased after him. Jetta Maxx of the Eternal Champions originally masqueraded as a circus trapezist but was killed when her act was sabotaged.

So, when and elephant, tiger, or any other animal does not do exactly what a human performer would want to be done, the animal is whipped. Such violent methods are not necessary. We don't whip dosgs when they bark, do we? We don't poke them with shark hooks when they fail to correctly give us a high-five or sit down. That is proof that circus animals do not need to be treated the way they so often are.
  • The Circus ability allows Kirby to use many circus-related moves. • This map takes place inside a common Circus (Labelled "CF Circus") at night, when everyone has already gone and only the soldiers are left behind. Apparently the animals have been evacuated as well, leaving the mutants less hosts to infect Notable spots: * Circus tent: The main arena, includes one Jumping pad at the middle that leads to the rooftop or some railings/platform on the top. There are various spectator seats inside the tent, which may aid parkourers from evading mutants attack. * Circus rooftop: Upper area, accessible by 4 jumping pads from outisde or the main one inside. The Human Canon or rope sliding from the Tower can help soldiers get here quickly as well. * Human Canon: Anyone going inside this will be shot up onto the Circus tent. * Tower: Accessible by 2 partially broken ladders that requires nearby Jumping Pad to get to. A decent spot to camp as long as soldiers can cover both ladders carefully, but Assassin's grenade may be a big threat. Escape by rapelling down to the Circus rooftop of just jump off the tower if needed be. * The Cage: Has 2 entrances that's remotely controlled by two switches, one outside and one inside. Mutants can open the cage from outside but the direct path requires jumping, which gives time for soldiers to re-close the gate. It's possible to sneak attack from the bottom up however. * Cage's rooftop: Accessible via a nearby jumping pad or from Circus' roof, a decent spot to camp and help out other soldiers inside the Cage. * Empty tent: There are various one around the map, with our without crates to hide. Partially useless since Havoc / Devil Terminator can spot you easily.

  • The Circus is a group of performers, including but not limited to acrobats, clowns, animal acts, jugglers, and daredevils who perform in a troop, often in multiple rings or arenas, and led by a Ringmaster. The Circus dates back to ancient Rome, where it consisted of horse and chariot races, and China where they consisted of primarily acrobatic acts. The first western circus opened in Philadelphia in 1793, but it was P.T. Barnum who was the pioneer of what audiences are familiar with today. Upon his death and subsequent merger of his circus with that of James Anthony Bailey, a more familiar circus was born, with a large canvas tent, human oddities for a sideshow, and multiple rings housing continuous acts. In 1919, the Barnum and Bailey show merged with the Ringling Brothers show, to form the quintessential American circus, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. The modern circus is an amalgam other influences as well. Bands of Gypsies often brought with them circus skills and trained animals while traveling Britan, and Antonio Franconi, the founder of the French circus, is often credited as a co-creator of the modern circus. Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show was also an precurser to the circus we are now familar with. While often touted as an evening of excitement and fun, not all is always happy with the circus. Clowns were often used as a distraction to the audience when an accident occurred (or an act flopped). Stephen Sondheim's song "Send in the Clowns" is a metaphorical looks at this stage practice. With the advent of more theatrical stages, clowns became pure comic relief, and have even provided a launching pad to a successful career outside the circus, as was the case for Bill Irwin. Animal cruelity has shrowded the circus for years. With animal acts involving Lions, Tigers, Elephants and more, animal activists have been concerned over their housing and training. This concern became the focus of a Dinosaurs episode titled "Charlene and Her Amazing Humans", where Cavelings are mistreated to perform on cue. The sideshow also became an intrigal part of the circus, with "freaks" (such as Tattooed Ladies or gimmicky acts (such as the Flea circus) luring people into spending additional money for the secondary show. Aside from the Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey Circus, other famous circuses include Cirque du Soleil and The Big Apple Circus, and famous acts have included Emmett Kelly and Gunther Gebel-Williams. The Muppets have visited the circus on numerous occasions.
