  • Hot Rod was at the battle of Korriban where he defeated many Sith Sorcerers but like all of the Autobots he was deeply injured by Darth Grievous's sith magic. Hot Rod at the end of the Transformers Wars was seen racing with the other Autobot Cars on the race tracks on Cybertron and being hailed as a hero.

  • Hotrod speeders were a type or make of speeder. Urnon Mossu drove a stolen Hotrod during his attempt to steal a collection of antique Twi'lek pots from the Galactic Museum during the Rise of the Empire era.
  • Hot Rod dreams of great heroics, but acts like an immature adolescent. Impulsive, friendly, not too good at following orders. Often goes off on thrill-seeking adventures. He carries two photon lasers that temporarily electro magnetize an enemy robot's microcircuits. Speed 330mph, range: 150 miles. He can be hot-headed, but is always well meaning, admirable lad and a brave and honorable fighter. His altmode is that of an advanced Cybertronian speedster, a mode definitely made for racing.

  • The Hot Rod is a powerup that drastically increases the car's acceleration to a dangerous amount; it also tweaks the suspension, making the car's front lift up while driving. The increased speed and difficult turning mean this powerup can only be safely used in a straight line, and even then, if a hard obstacle appears ahead it could spell damage. For fun, players usually add this cheat along with Gravity From Jupiter to cancel the suspension effect.

Unfortunately tragedy strikes and Frank is diagnosed with a fatal heart condition. • Hot rods are typically American cars with large engines modified for linear speed. The origin of the term "hot rod" is unclear. One explanation is that the term is a contraction of "hot roadster," meaning a roadster that was modified for speed. Another possible origin includes modifications to or replacement of the camshaft(s), sometimes known as a "stick" or "rod". A camshaft designed to produce more power is sometimes call a "hot stick" or, here, a "hot rod". Roadsters were the cars of choice because they were light. The term became commonplace in the 1930s or 1940s as the name of a car that had been "hopped up" by modifying the engine in various ways to achieve higher performance.
  • The term "Hot Rod" first appeared in the late 1930s, when kids from southern California would race their modified cars on the vast, empty dry lake beds northeast of Los Angeles under the rules of the Southern California Timing Association (SCTA). The activity increased in popularity after World War II, particularly in California, due to returning soldiers, many of whom had been given technical training in the service. The original hot rods were old cars (most often Ford, typically Ford, Ford 1928-31, 1932-34 Ford) that had been modified by to reduce weight and improve aerodynamics. Typical modifications were removal of Convertible tops, Hoods (vehicle), Bumpers (automobile)s, Windshields, and/or Fenders (vehicle)); lowering the chassis; and modifying the Engine by Engine and/or replacing w

He often acts without thinking in an effort to do the right thing, which gets himself and his friends in trouble. But he's not afraid when trouble does arrive, and is a brave and honorable fighter and friend. Wheels and Tires were changed for improved Traction and handling. Hot rodder's modifications were considered to improve the appearance as well, leading to show cars in the 1960s replicating these same modifications along with a distinctive paint job.

It allows up to four players simultaneously, and the player competes in races with three other cars. It is possible to upgrade the car at a Parts Shop. The game is derived from a similar game, Super Sprint, released by Atari a few years earlier. The concept of this game is fairly different from many other racing games. Every time a player falls off screen, they will be penalized by having gas subtracted from their gas meter. If the gas meter reaches "0", the game is over. The player can pick up flashing targets symbolized with a "G". By picking up the target, 20 units gas will be added to the player's gas meter. If the player successfully crosses the finish line, they will be rewarded additional units of gas. After every race, the player will then go to the Parts Shop. From there, with whatever money they have earned from races, they can purchase upgrades for their car. The types of upgrades include three front or rear engines, three types of bumpers, three types of spoilers, and two types of tires. However, the selection of tires is abudant, and include radial tires, speed tires, spike tires, and snow tires. There's a total of 30 different races spanning across ten different environments, which includes busy highways, dirt roads, a beachside course, a mountain course, farmlands, snowy terrain, a desert, a construction zone, a shipyard, and city streets. There are 3 racers per environment. Every third race, the finish line takes the players to a stadium for a victory ceremony. Afterwards, the players find themselves in a new environment. The home computer game music was made by Ben Daglish. The catchy "Shop" theme used in this game would also be used in later Sega racing games including Turbo Outrun, the Sega Genesis version of Super Hang-On, and the Game Gear version of GP Rider.

The operation needed is too expensive, so Rod and his gang set out to raise the money by performing the greatest jump he has ever attempted to save Frank's life. And so he can finally kick his ass when he's better. * Ambiguously Gay: Jonathan is seen reading a muscle fitness magazine at one point and seems to care more about his best friend Sullivan than Denise. * Amusing Injuries: This movie is very slapstick. * Animal Battle Aura: Rod will call apon a random animal spirit whenever he does a jump. * Badass Mustache: It's taped on, though. * Brick Joke: Rod randomly asks Denise who would win a fight between a grilled-cheese sandwich and a taco. She says the taco, but only because it would fight dirty. When Rod "dies" after his big jump, he has an Imagine Spot where a giant taco beats a giant grilled-cheese sandwich after whacking it with a steel chair. * Bring My Brown Pants: Doubles up as a Chekhov's Skill. * Chekhov's Skill: Rod asks Denise if there's a tai chi move that can make a man lose control of his bowels. He then goads her into displaying it on him. Rod then uses it on his stepdad in the films climax. * Circle of Shame: When Rod's movie is shown at the theater and he realizes everyone's laughing at how incompetent he looks. * Creator Cameo: Akiva Schaffer shows up for a moment as Dave's acid-dealing friend Derek. * Defeat Means Friendship: Pretty much the whole reason why Rod and Frank fight each other * Drowning My Sorrows: Rod. * Girl Next Door: Denise * Heroic BSOD: Rod. He starts acting like an adult and buying many bottles of alcohol. * How Dare You Die on Me!: Rod's reaction to finding out that Frank is dying, because he wants to fight him * Jerkass: Rod and Frank to varying extents. Both Played for Laughs though. * Denise's current boyfriend. Rod is a Friend to All Living Things. He laughs maniacally while he runs over a squirell purely For the Evulz. * Kick the Dog: After Rod finally gets his stepfather to admit defeat, he throws in a Finishing Move anyways. * Lame Rhyme Dodge: A failed attempt by Rod when he suddenly backtracks on his brief moment of having enough nerve to compliment Denise. Instead of replacing it with something benign, he replaces it with something much worse: * Man Child * Made of Iron: Rod, despite the many accidents he's involved in he never receives any long lasting injuries. Subverted at the end when he "dies"... * Mood Whiplash: The Crowning Music of Awesome that turns into a mass riot. * Motive Rant: Wendever Rod has a mic he will start ranting about how much he wants to kill Frank. * Overly Long Gag: Just how high WAS that hill that Rod tumbled down? * BABE! WAIT! NO BABE BAAAABE NO NO BABE NO NO NO BABE NO BAAAAAABE! * The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: The reason why Rod wants to give Frank a new heart, so he can rip it out of him, yes he says this, a lot * Precision F-Strike: Wouldn't be Lonely Island without at least one f-bomb. Though in this case, it's not said by one of the dudes, but by a woman who tells Rod, "get the fuck off my lawn". * Production Posse: The Lonely Island directs and stars, and SNL fans will recognise Bill Hader and Will Arnett as well. * Stupid Statement Dance Mix: COOL BEANS! * "Well Done, Son" Guy: Rod, to hilariously insane levels. * You Say Tomato: Rod tells his crew that his safety word is "huwisky". His stepbrother wants to know why he's pronouncing "whiskey" so weirdly, which leads to Rod pronouncing a string of words starting with 'wh' (and one that just starts with 'w') in the same way until his stepbrother gives up. According to Word of God, this was inspired by a skit on Gang Starr's album Moment of Truth.
