  • Commander Bennington "Ben" Biraka was a Human male serving in Starfleet in the 24th century. Bennington "Ben" Biraka was born in 2327 and was a graduate of Starfleet Academy, class of 2347. In addition to his medical degree, he held command-line qualifications in several areas, including security, operations, navigation and tactical. Dr. Biraka was part of the medical team that developed the medical implant treatment for the Federation hostages that were subjected to auto-neural stimulation torture by the Cardassian Obsidian Order in 2365. Dr. Biraka won a Silver medal in Low-gravity Equestrian Jumping in the Federation Olympics, Stardate 37082. Dr. Biraka served as the first officer of the USS Righteous from 2359 until at least 2367 when the ship disappeared and was presumed destroyed in the Battle of Wolf 359. He was very personable, which made him perfect for his career as a ship's counselor. He also had a take-charge personality. He had the habit of spouting large amounts of psychobabble while in command of the Righteous bridge. He was particularly annoying to Q, whom Biraka kissed on the forehead. The Righteous disappeared during the battle and was presumed destroyed until it reappeared in 2377. (ST video game: Borg)
