  • Users have the capacity to separate their spirit, life force, and or mental essence from the body by entering a trance and sleep type formation, with this they gain access of traveling to the Astral Plane.
  • [[Category:]] Astral projection was a necromancy spell that projected the caster and his/her companions into the Astral Plane. Formerly, this spell was called the astral spell and was a member of the alteration school.
  • Astral projection is a psychic ability wherein one travels outside of the body, either to somewhere in the real world, in a dream world, or on the Astral Plane, by projecting one's consciousness outside of the physical form. * Soul Travel
  • Astral Projection is an Evolved Human Ability which allows the user to project their consciousness into a corporeal, astral body.

  • Astral Projection is the magical separation of the spirit from the body. It is accomplished by means of stretching the soul so that the spirit can travel around while remaining connected to the body, thus preventing death and soul sleep. Both are a danger to the astral projector if done improperly or the hold on the stretched soul is lost. Astral projection is also known as spiritual projection, aethereal/ethereal projection, ethereal form, skinchanging
  • Astral Projection is a quite rare ability to extend at least a portion of your body outward to the astral world. Projecting one's true self can be harmful and chaotic to the outside world, like when angels extend their true form. If a human completely leaves their body, they become much like a living ghost, gaining all the powers that ghosts do (Super strength, Teleportation, Telekinesis etc.) but only after plenty of practice.
  • Astral projection is the ability to project one's consciousness to the astral plane, not the physical as that is another form of projection. This is not to be confused with mental projection.
  • While in "astral mode", powers are dormant. However, some advanced users have mastered the skill to use their powers whilst astral projecting.
  • This ability can be used to project one's consciousness to a temporary new body, which can be in any location, without any maximum limit to the distance from the original body. When the ability is used, the original body will fall unconscious, and remain so until the astral form returns. The new astral body is solid enough to interact with its surroundings, but cannot be harmed - if any damage is done or any threat is posed, the astral form will reflexively return to the original body. It is usually severely difficult to use other abilities in astral form, but it is possible to train oneself to do so, with enough effort and time.

  • Astral Projection is the act of separating one’s soul from their body while still incarnate. A silver cord keeps the soul from separating from the body. Souls have greater freedom outside of their body while still incarnate than they do after death. A silver cord connects the astral body to the physical body at all times. Some experts do not see it, however; therefore, the silver cord may be a manifestation of our minds to reassure us that we will not get lost in the astral world.
  • A number of reasons could cause astral projection, though most cases often involved the user being subjected to violent trauma or injury along with external factors such as the influence of a Hellmouth, the intervention of higher beings, mystical substances or a curse. Magical practitioners could also voluntarily achieve astral projection via spells. According to Tara Maclay, astral projection was similar to accessing the nether realm, something very intense.
  • Astral projection (or astral travel) is a paranormal interpretation of an out-of-body experience achieved either awake or via lucid dreaming or deep meditation. The concept of astral projection assumes the existence of another body, separate from the physical body and capable of traveling to non-physical planes of existence. Astral projection is often experienced as the spirit or astral body leaving the physical body to travel in the spirit world or astral plane. Often it is a form of telepathy or magic.

The only people who could sense the presence of astral projection were fellow force-sensitives. Several "prophets" of the combined races, Korribanite, Massassi, and Original Sith, could utilize this Force power, which is how they knew outside events.

The user will then build up a large amount of spiritual chakra and project it outwards creating an identical clones blue in coloration. Unlike the normal shadow clone technique these clones are completely invisible to others and serve mainly as markers to drastically expand the range of the user's sensory abilities to profound distances. While the user is communicating with their clones the user is put to sleep. Even though the user is in a slumbering state when communicating with their clones, the user has access to each of their clones senses and the information they gather, allowing them to sense anything their clones senses through their 5 senses and their ability to sense chakra. Unlike normal clones, the clones produced by this technique are only dispelled by the user and will remain existent as long as the user wills it. The clones can also immediately appear any location the user has ever been by thinking of the area they want to place the clone. These clones can also phase through any solid objects and can bypass sensory barriers without being detected. Being a master of this technique Dan Katō (DP) has reached the full potential of this technique by being able to make up to 6 clones which is considered very rare do to the chakra cost and most people only being able to make two at most. He can also use his astral projections to possess multiple targets at once and take control, gaining access to his target's memories, thoughts, and sense as well as being able to kill them by degrading their insides.

A soul traveling in this manner is aware of its surroundings and can move freely, as in a lucid dream. Experienced souls are able to travel to any location on any plane, and particularly powerful ones can even affect their physical surroundings. Because the life of the body is sustained by its connection with the soul, it will die instantly if the silver cord is severed. For this reason, those undergoing astral projection ward their silver cords with powerful spells and keep all their senses trained on their surroundings, lest some prowling fiend sever it to claim its tethered prize. The silver swords of the Githyanki are also capable of cutting the silver cords of astrally-projecting travelers - a frightful thought, given that all trans-planar astral projection crosses through their native Astral Plane.

Several "prophets" of the combined races, Korribanite, Massassi, and Original Sith, could utilize this Force power, which is how they knew outside events. This power is considered to be dangerous, because the user is rendered helpless when it is in use, and even if they could respond, it would take awhile for them to "return to normal". So most Jedi, Sith, and Dark Jedi do not use or know of this strange ability.

  • Astral projection is the act of willfully traveling outside of one's own physical body. The concept of astral projection dates back thousands of years in the beliefs of the ancient Chinese as well as other human cultures. Circa 2376, a method was devised on planet Vrinda for individuals to create astral projections of themselves, as well as to give those projections physical reality. This development lead to a wave of violence and fear, as such projections could enter places no physical being could, and then act on the physical universe. The device also had the effect of endangering the mental stability of its users. The technology used on Vrinda was ultimately destroyed by Carol Abramowitz. (SCE eBook: Age of Unreason)
  • Astral projection was a psychic power that involved the mind (or soul) leaving the physical body and entering the astral plane. Humans developed a method of astral projection which allowed for psychically travelling to different planets as opposed to doing so in starships. (TV: Image of the Fendahl) The Sixth Doctor described the astral plane as a "collective illusion." The mind traveled out of its body into the universe's subconscious, dimensions of etheric mental energy that mirrored the physical world. It was notoriously tricky and beguiling, and took great will power to return from. (AUDIO: Point of Entry) The Fendahl had such enormous energies that it was able to project itself from the Fifth Planet to Earth before being trapped in a time loop, possibly ravaging Mars along the way. (TV: Image of the Fendahl) The Osirans were capable of mentally projecting themselves, and also designed psi-projectors which let them travel through space using only the power of their minds. (TV: Pyramids of Mars, PROSE: The Sands of Time) For several decades before 1996, the Great Intelligence was trapped in the astral plane through the Second Doctor's actions, only escaping briefly by destroying its own locus. (HOMEVID: Downtime, PROSE: Downtime) Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart entered the astral plane within his dreams. There he met Daniel Hinton who warned him to trust no one, because a lot of people were under the influence of the Great Intelligence. The astral plane was the only place in which Daniel Hinton was free from the Great Intelligence's influence. He went there by using black magic. (HOMEVID: Downtime)

  • You and up to eight willing creatures within range project your astral bodies into the Astral Plane (the spell fails and the casting is wasted if you are already on that plane). The material body you leave behind is unconscious and in a state of suspended animation; it doesn’t need food or air and doesn’t age. Your astral body resembles your mortal form in almost every way, replicating your game statistics and possessions. The principal difference is the addition of a silvery cord that extends from between your shoulder blades and trails behind you, fading to invisibility after 1 foot. This cord is your tether to your material body. As long as the tether remains intact, you can find your way home. If the cord is cut —something that can happen only when an effect specifically states that it does— your soul and body are separated, killing you instantly. Your astral form can freely travel through the Astral Plane and can pass through portals there leading to any other plane. If you enter a new plane or return to the plane you were on when casting this spell, your body and possessions are transported along the silver cord, allowing you to re-enter your body as you enter the new plane. Your astral form is a separate incarnation. Any damage or other effects that apply to it have no effect on your physical body, nor do they persist when you return to it. The spell ends for you and your companions when you use your action to dismiss it. When the spell ends, the affected creature returns to its physical body, and it awakens. The spell might also end early for you or one of your companions. A successful dispel magic spell used against an astral or physical body ends the spell for that creature. If a creature’s original body or its astral form drops to 0 hit points, the spell ends for that creature. If the spell ends and the silver cord is intact, the cord pulls the creature’s astral form back to its body, ending its state of suspended animation. If you are returned to your body prematurely, your companions remain in their astral forms and must find their own way back to their bodies, usually by dropping to 0 hit points.

We give out a vibration depending on our mood; if we are depressed, we give out a low frequency that will allow negative entities to see us, and may be drawn towards us to feed off that energy. If we are happy and confident, then we give off a higher frequency. So lower frequencies equal lower planes, and higher frequencies equal higher planes. Anything that you can imagine is possible when you astral project. If you wanted to visit a different planet, you could. If you wanted to fly over cities, you could. People experience astral projection either spontaneously by illness, sleep, surgical operations, sleep paralysis, or it is induced by practicing meditation. People sometimes mistake lucid dreaming (Being aware that you are in a dream and being able to control what's in it) for astral projection. The difference is that when you astral project, you are actually going to these places. When you lucid dream, you're obviously still dreaming. People astral project for many different reasons: for spiritual beliefs, to gain knowledge and interact with the other side, or some people may just be curious. We astral project every night when we sleep, we are just not consciously aware of it.
