| abstract | - Hida Ryhodotsu of House Koebi was the eldest son of the Koebi Daimyo, vassals of the Crab Clan. They served the Hida family with loyalty and honor for centuries, and Kaiu Kenru even recommended to Hida Kisada that they be given minor clan status. In 1123 Ryhodotsu returned from tendering taxes to the Crab when he found that the villages of the Koebi and his castle, Shiro Koebi, were gone. A monsoon had wiped them all out. With anger, bitterness and despair Ryhodotsu wandered Rokugan seeking a purpose. With him he carried one of the two ancestral Koebi Jitte which would have been his inheritance. The other jitte was lost in the storm, and Ryhodotsu sought it.
