After Kai Farage was fired from the party due to poor leadership, a leadership election was held soon after, with Sturgeon coming first with a landslide victory in May 3854. Sturgeon announced she was stepping down as party leader in early 3866 after much thought, but stayed on as leader until the next was elected, the winning candidate being Charles Davison Under Sturgeon's leadership, Choice began its "healing process" after Kai Farage's poor leadership of the party. The 3859 election saw Choice rise from fifth place to third place, despite making losses in terms of votes. However, other parties such as the Liberal Alliance and Hosian Socialist Party made greater losses, and as such this election was seen as somewhat of a success for the party, with Choice members being enthusiastic about Sturgeon's continued leadership. Since beginning her leadership of the party, she has helped reconnect with voters and offered more up to date policies than predecessor Kai Farage along being more pragmatic and compromising than party founder Ensor Taylor, which became more necessary in her time as party leader than previously due to the rise of more conservative parties such as the Cavalier Party, and fall of more centralized parties. In the Luthori General Election 3861, Sturgeon lead Choice into coming second place and their highest ever result. Despite the Cavalier Party coming first, Choice managed to form a coalition with the Progress Party, Liberal Alliance and the Hosian Socialist Party in a joined effort to keep the extreme right Cavalier's from coming back into power, with Margarot Sturgeon becoming the head of government, in the form of Imperial Seal-Bearer. Sturgeon has been seen mostly as a centralist and less libertarian than a large chunk of her party. However she still has populist views, which is an important ideology within the party, despite her views being less extreme than Taylor's. Sturgeon lived a long healthy life, however after retiring as Choice leader she mostly withdrew from the public eye, living to a long age of 112 before dying of natural causes.
