Ella gritó y forcejeó mientras veía cómo su novio terminaba en el suelo, recibiendo patadas aún después de quedar inconsciente. Finalmente, los agresores se alejaron y dejaron atrás a la angustiada chica, que al comprobar el estado de su novio, corrió en busca de ayuda. Tiempo después, la joven volvió al lugar con la policía, apresurada por el grave estado de Manuel. Sin embargo, no encontraron al muchacho por ningún lado. Ya no estaba, y para desconsuelo de su novia, nadie pudo encontrarlo... Pero él sí los encontró a ellos. Aquella misma semana, dos de los responsables del ataque desaparecieron misteriosamente sin que nadie se diera cuenta, y nunca les volvieron a ver. Días después de las desconcertantes desapariciones, otro de los involucrados tuvo un grave accidente automovilístico. Murió minutos de agonizar luego de que su vehículo quedara atrapado bajo el enorme camión sin conductor que le había atropellado. Los dos que quedaban no soportaron la culpa, sumada al miedo por los inexplicables accidentes que habían costado la vida de sus compañeros, y se entregaron ante la policía.
