Indra, "la que cuida", es la líder de las doncellas que cuidan por el bienestar de la Diosa Viviente, una posición para la que fue preparada desde su nacimiento. En su juventud causó accidentalmente la muerte de su padre dándole a beber un cuenco de leche en el que una pequeña pero venenosísima serpiente había caído y muerto ahogada. El padre de Indra muere envenenado a pesar de los esfuerzos de su hija, y desde entonces la muchacha se culpa de su muerte. El incidente es mantenido en secreto, pero de alguna manera que no ha sido revelada Ramar se entera de lo sucedido. left|230pxAños después Indra, ahora convertida en una hermosa mujer de voluntad férrea, es sobornada por Ramar, quien necesita de sus servicios para secuestrar a la Diosa Viviente. Indra sabe que si su papel en la muerte de su padre es descubierto ella será condenada a muerte y tirada a una jauría de perros furiosos, y así, muy a su pesar, accede a obedecer las órdenes de Ramar y a dejar abierta una puerta en la casa de la Diosa Viviente por la que Ramar accede a secuestrar la niña. right|230pxUna vez Ramar está dentro de la casa Indra intenta asesinarlo, pues sabe que ningún tribunal la condenará por atacar a un intruso. Sin embargo Ramar se da cuenta a tiempo, golpea a Indra y procede a secuestrar a la Diosa Viviente y asesinar a las doncellas que la cuidan. Después del secuestro es Indra quien da la voz de alarma. Al ver a sus compañeras doncellas muertas y saber que la Diosa Viviente se encuentra en poder de Ramar por su culpa, Indra cae en una profunda depresión, y presa de los remordimientos intenta suicidarse. Kalimán interviene y le ofrece un trato: si ella se convierte en su aliada para capturar a Ramar, él intercederá a su favor en cualquier futuro juicio. Indra decide confiar en Kalimán, y así se convierte en su aliada. Cuando Ramar regresa de la Isla de la Muerte para obligar a los maestros lamas a coronarlo rey de Kaliasana, Indra decide expiar su culpa, y a la primera oportunidad se lanza contra él esgrimiendo un cuchillo. Ramar se da cuenta a tiempo del ataque, y después de desarmarla decide hipnotizarla y hacerla creer que se ha convertido en serpiente. Además le pone veneno en los dientes que deberá usar para atacar a Kalimán. Cuando ella y Kalimán vuelven a encontrarse, Indra, siguiendo las órdenes telepáticas de Ramar, intenta morder a Kalimán pero es descubierta. Kalimán la libra entonces del control mental de su enemigo pero le pide que finja haber tenido éxito en su misión. Kalimán realiza entonces un experimento de actus mortis, y cuando Indra informa a Ramar y lo lleva con Kalimán, él queda convencido de la muerte de su enemigo y lo encierra en un ataúd. Inicialmente Kalimán tiene problemas para salir de ahí, pero logra comunicarse telepáticamente con Indra quien lo ayuda sin titubear. En este enfrentamiento Indra prueba ser una valiosa aliada de Kalimán, quien por primera vez logra capturar a Ramar, aunque solo temporalmente. Eventualmente la Diosa Viviente es rescatada por Kalimán y retornada al cuidado de Indra por un par de días. left|230pxSin embargo Ramar no está dispuesto a desistir de su propósito de desencadenar una guerra religiosa y envía a su esclava Vanesa, ahora convertida en una estatua de metal, a que ataque a Indra y vuelva a llevarse a la Diosa Viviente. Indra, furiosa ante su impotencia decide orar a la diosa Kali, y un haz de luz que sale de la frente de la diosa ilumina un cuchillo en el suelo. Indra toma esto como un portento que le indica que Kali quiere que ella intente de nuevo asesinar a Ramar, y de nuevo intenta acuchillarlo cuando el personaje viene a coronarse rey de Kaliasana. Ramar vuelve a descubrirla, y harto de los constantes ataques arteros de la muchacha la hipnotiza y le ordena clavarse ella misma el cuchillo de Kali en el corazón. Indra muere apuñalada por su propia mano y cae a los pies de Ramar. Han är inte tros ha besegrats av någon annan Systemherre, och definitivt ingen Systemherre hävdar hans få kvar världar.
