Devourer Devourer

Hardened Leather BootsUnknown edit Locations Found Locations Found: Embalming Room Long HallwayUnknown edit They say the tale of Baba Yaga was devised by a man who happened upon a devourer. If so, a disclaimer is required: the tale was softened. It provides only a faint idea of what can happen to a stray traveller who should have the misfortune of passing near a devourer's lair. Devourers continue to be used after the Brood War, and remained in use during the Second Great War. The Terran Dominion studied their remains at the Valhalla installation. Devourers were a regular sight among the zerg's aerial and stellar forces well into 2512. Under the reign of Overqueen Zagara, Devourers were often modified to transport and launch objects other than corrosive acid. The Devourers of the Abyss are giant fish that live in the deep parts of the Infinite Ocean. They eat everything on their path and are unstoppable, not even Sirenix powers are effective against them. Perhaps it's a mutated offspring of an unfortunate gecko flushed down the drain? Devourers were small insect Rahi that were capable of eating their way through any inorganic Protodermis. They were very fond of Rahkshi armor. It is unknown weather or not they migrated with the other species of Rahi to Spherus Magna or they are extinct along with the Rahkshi. Devourer is a mothership alien found in the Zeta Gate and serves as the main alien in the penultimate and some of final waves in the Zeta Gate. Before its official release during mid-late October 2011, it was a major source of speculation within the Dark Orbit community. Devourers resemble giant two-tailed scorpions and are slightly larger than a human. Devourers prefer to hide underground and will only burrow their way to the surface when their victim comes within close proximity. Devourers typically burrow out of the ground in packs, with each pack consisting of a mix of melee and ranged attackers. While underground, a devourer is inert and undetectable (i.e. they do not show up on a character's minimap, and show no visible signs of being present). Furthermore, once surfaced, a devourer cannot burrow back into the ground. Furthermore Devourers ... Devourers were fiends who acted in the service of Orcus. They were used to create armies of undead by consuming the bodies and souls of humanoids. Lesser demons could be promoted to devourers by proving themselves to Orcus. A devourer created new undead by bringing a humanoid creature to the brink of death, and then trapping its victim inside its ribcage. While there, the devourer tortured its victim's soul with telepathic noise until death, after which an undead would come out in its service. The Devourer is a larger version of the Giant Worm and a weaker version of the World Feeder. It can be found in The Corruption. However, once one has targeted the player, it can follow the player out of The Corruption. The Devourer will spawn at night or in deep chasms where Shadow Orbs can be found. In order for enemies such as Devourers and The Eater of Worlds to spawn outside of The Corruption, 500 Ebonstone blocks must be nearby. They do not take damage from lava and they drop Worm Teeth, Coins and Rotten Chunks. Devourers are creatures found in the Twisting Nether. A creature called Arcane Devourer appears in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. They are fully described in the Appendix Three of Manual of Monsters, where they appear to serve the Burning Legion and come from the Twisting Nether, however the validity of the source is disputed. For some warriors, defeating the enemy is not enough. They possess a primal urge to consume their enemy, obliterating them entirely and using their strength to fortify themselves. It matters not whether the enemy be alive or dead, although when alive, their prey provides a fresher meal and more entertainment. The Devourer was a Rakatan Ship used by Predor Tul'kar before the time of the Galactic Republic. Devourers are a mutated strain of Zerg Mutalisks used in anti-air warfare. They use acidic venom to harm and hinder enemy forces. For more information see Devourer on the parent site

The source of the devourers are slime creatures of unknown origin that over the cause of generation have soaked that much glooth residue that they became something new. The driving force of these creatures is an insatiable hunger and their digestion relies on incredible strong fluids. In the past the tiny ancestors of the devourers were used in Rathleton in waste disposal and they were deliberately allowed to roam the sewer system. First incidents with the nearly mindless creatures brought the officials to rethink that strategy. But it was already too late to stop the spread of the devourers. Even worse several extermination campaigns lead to an increased survival of the fittest evolution of the devourers and in few generations the slime creatures had doubled in size and fierceness. As a cannibalistic species they begun to further their own evolution by eradicating the weak and sick which lead to further selection. Some scientists speculate that the devourers are still evolving with each generation and that they will eventually grow even further with no limits. There are rumours about devourers that fused together is fearsome fights and continued as even larger and more dangerous versions of themselves. Even more alarming is the fact that the devourers are seemingly no longer dependent on glooth residue as they have not only spread outside of Rathleton but newly hatched devourers have travelled as blind passengers on ships and in cargo to different places and created new colonies. Wherever devourers are encountered officials are eager to exterminate the threat to prevent them from gaining a hold in populated areas. Devourers are not picky in their diet. Their powerful digestion system enables them to dissolve almost everything and they seemingly know no fear or pain. For some reason they prefer living food over dead matter nd attack most beings without hesitation. Since they have some kind of preference chain they will ignore anything else if they deem something as 'tasty'. As it seems, humans are considered as incredibly tasty by their primitive instincts. Devourers are considered as extremely dangerous and the words 'run, the devourer comes' has become a common phrases in plagued areas. Given his resilient nature and omnivorous appetite only caution has yet prevented further spread of the vile creatures but it's sadly just a matter of time when this threat to everything becomes commonplace.

n38:abstract
Devourer is a mothership alien found in the Zeta Gate and serves as the main alien in the penultimate and some of final waves in the Zeta Gate. Before its official release during mid-late October 2011, it was a major source of speculation within the Dark Orbit community. They say the tale of Baba Yaga was devised by a man who happened upon a devourer. If so, a disclaimer is required: the tale was softened. It provides only a faint idea of what can happen to a stray traveller who should have the misfortune of passing near a devourer's lair. When travelling in regions known to contain devourers, take care not to rush towards a visible enemy (regardless of whether or not it is a devourer) to engage it in close combat, as a pack of hidden/underground devourers may be inadvertently aggravated. Often the visible enemies serve as bait for a much more dangerous devourer ambush. To circumvent the standard devourer ambush tactics, always be sure to approach visible enemies slowly (i.e. run forward two or three steps, pause, then run forward a couple more, pause etc.) while keeping an eye out for devourers burrowing to the surface, or preferably, draw the visible enemy towards the party using long-range weapons (e.g. longbows). When finally engaging the visible enemy in close-range combat, try to remain in areas characters have already traversed. A character may be one step away from aggro-ing more hidden devourers. Devourer ambush-points are not random, so it is worth noting where they burrow in a particular area, especially if running, so that that fewer groups can be aggravated or even be avoided altogether. Devourers, depending on their type, primarily use either melee or ranged attacks to inflict piercing damage and supplement these attacks with sporadic magical attacks. Some Devourers have reduced armor against fire damage or cold damage. Furthermore Devourers ... * are fleshy creatures. * are vulnerable to bleeding and disease. * leave a corpse behind. * are not undead. * can be knocked down. Not much is know about this creature that is reminiscent of a giant lizard. Perhaps it's a mutated offspring of an unfortunate gecko flushed down the drain? Devourers are creatures found in the Twisting Nether. A creature called Arcane Devourer appears in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. They are fully described in the Appendix Three of Manual of Monsters, where they appear to serve the Burning Legion and come from the Twisting Nether, however the validity of the source is disputed. Hardened Leather BootsUnknown edit Locations Found Locations Found: Embalming Room Long HallwayUnknown edit Devourers are a mutated strain of Zerg Mutalisks used in anti-air warfare. They use acidic venom to harm and hinder enemy forces. For more information see Devourer on the parent site The Devourer is a larger version of the Giant Worm and a weaker version of the World Feeder. Like other worms, each segment of the Devourer has its own HP, including the head. Killing one part of the Devourer kills the whole thing, although a glitch can occur where even when you kill a part of it, it won't die. Similar to the Bone Serpent, each part of the Devourer has a chance to drop loot. Using explosives (especially Grenades, which require less timing than Bombs) to kill multiple segments at once is the best way to maximize your drops. Any explosive will kill it in one hit. They do not take damage from lava and they drop Worm Teeth, Coins and Rotten Chunks. __NOEDITSECTION__ __NOWYSIWYG__ Hit Dice: 12d12 (78 hp) Initiative: +4 Speed: 30 ft. The Devourers of the Abyss are giant fish that live in the deep parts of the Infinite Ocean. They eat everything on their path and are unstoppable, not even Sirenix powers are effective against them. For some warriors, defeating the enemy is not enough. They possess a primal urge to consume their enemy, obliterating them entirely and using their strength to fortify themselves. It matters not whether the enemy be alive or dead, although when alive, their prey provides a fresher meal and more entertainment. Devourers were small insect Rahi that were capable of eating their way through any inorganic Protodermis. They were very fond of Rahkshi armor. It is unknown weather or not they migrated with the other species of Rahi to Spherus Magna or they are extinct along with the Rahkshi.
