He carries two photon lasers that temporarily electro magnetize an enemy robot's microcircuits. Speed 330mph, range: 150 miles. - The Hot Rod is a powerup that drastically increases the car's acceleration to a dangerous amount; it also tweaks the suspension, making the car's front lift up while driving. The increased speed and difficult turning mean this powerup can only be safely used in a straight line, and even then, if a hard obstacle appears ahead it could spell damage. For fun, players usually add this cheat along with Gravity From Jupiter to cancel the suspension effect.

- Hot rods are typically American cars with large engines modified for linear speed. The origin of the term "hot rod" is unclear. One explanation is that the term is a contraction of "hot roadster," meaning a roadster that was modified for speed. Another possible origin includes modifications to or replacement of the camshaft(s), sometimes known as a "stick" or "rod". A camshaft designed to produce more power is sometimes call a "hot stick" or, here, a "hot rod". Roadsters were the cars of choice because they were light. The term became commonplace in the 1930s or 1940s as the name of a car that had been "hopped up" by modifying the engine in various ways to achieve higher performance.
- The term "Hot Rod" first appeared in the late 1930s, when kids from southern California would race their modified cars on the vast, empty dry lake beds northeast of Los Angeles under the rules of the Southern California Timing Association (SCTA). The activity increased in popularity after World War II, particularly in California, due to returning soldiers, many of whom had been given technical training in the service. The original hot rods were old cars (most often Ford, typically Ford, Ford 1928-31, 1932-34 Ford) that had been modified by to reduce weight and improve aerodynamics. Typical modifications were removal of Convertible tops, Hoods (vehicle), Bumpers (automobile)s, Windshields, and/or Fenders (vehicle)); lowering the chassis; and modifying the Engine by Engine and/or replacing w
- HOT ROD is the all-American boy Autobot. Not too sweet, not too sharp, not too snotty... basically a typical adolescent who has dreams of doing great things and being as heroic and important as Optimus Prime and other famous and revered Autobots. He tends to follow rules until they bug him - and he sometimes learns, to his regret, that disobeying wasn't exactly smart. He often acts without thinking in an effort to do the right thing, which gets himself and his friends in trouble. But he's not afraid when trouble does arrive, and is a brave and honorable fighter and friend. In robot or automotive mode, Hot Rod is sometimes hot headed, but always a well-meaning, admirable lad and popular with all who know him. In vehicle mode he can reach speeds of up to 210 mph, and in robot mode carries tw
