  • Berlin Wall — одна из четырёх сетевых карт, входящие в DLC First Strike.
  • East Germans knew there was more freedom, better living standards and better life generally in the West so many East Germans wanted to move over. That wasn't so easy after the wall was built. Armed soldiers prevented East Germans fleeing to West Germany and countless East Germans were shot trying to cross over the wall. The West Germans called the wall, "Die Schandemauer" (the wall of shame).
  • The Berlin Wall was a structure in Berlin, Germany, whose collapse marked a pivotal turning point in the Cold War between the United States of America and the Soviet Union, and presaged the ultimate dissolution of the U.S.S.R. (Deadline) Secretary of State Ethan Kanin remarked that the possibility of terrorists obtaining Soviet nuclear assets was what the U.S. had been fearing since the Berlin Wall fell. ("Day 8: 9:00pm-10:00pm")
  • The Berlin Wall (named after the German barrier during World War II) is equal to E100#^^##100,000,000 = E100#^^#>#^^#>#^^#>...>#^^#>#^^#100 (100,000,000 #^^#'s) in Extended Cascading-E Notation. The term was coined by Sbiis Saibian.
  • Berlin Wall East Side Gallery The border between East and West Berlin is opened and daily half a million people cross the border from one part of the city into the other. Many East Berliners go into the cinema or discos in the West, they even work in the West or they go shopping in the West. Women get the first seamless panty hoses in the West, tropical fruits are only available there. At the same time the leaders of the Communist parties of the Commecon meet in Moscow from August 3 until August 5, 1961 and they decide to close the open border between East and West Berlin.

  • Tori wrote, recorded, and copyrighted "Berlin Wall" in 1990 alongside "Mother", but the song did not make it on Little Earthquakes. When asked about the status of "Berlin Wall" by PopMatters in 2012, Tori commented that "Someone in the music industry had heard it and it wasn’t his kind of thing, and so that dissuaded me. That just kind of spooked me, so I put it away."
  • The Berlin Wall was originally constructed in 1962 as a rival to the Great Wall of China. However, due to a violently turbulent history involving death, destruction, a Cold War, and Communism, the Berlin Wall fell like a ton of bricks in 1989. Poor structural integrity was found to be the cause, and the unified German government was forced to pay 20,000 Deutsche Marks in compensation to those injured. As such it has been removed from the #2 spot on the "Truly Great Walls" list and downgraded to a measly #6, behind Hadrian's Wall, the Wailing Wall, and WalMart.
  • The Op-Yop was a toy marketed in the 1960's by a company based in Royal Oak, Michigan called Kramer Designs. The company's original location was an office on Adams in the neighboring community of Birmingham. The history we could find was based on a Time Magazine article in 1968 where it was stated that a million of the Op-Yops had been sold and another million were expected to sell by Christmas. In my travels, I have found some additional information including an internal memo relating to some six months worth of advertising that was done on the Soupy Sales Show with Soupy doing the commercials shot in Detroit. There were also memo's to retailers advising them to stock up on the toy to be in sync with the Soupy Sales ads. I tracked down the original molder who made the parts and talked to
  • The Berlin Wall () was a barrier constructed by the German Democratic Republic (GDR, East Germany) starting on 13 August 1961, that completely cut off (by land) West Berlin from surrounding East Germany and from East Berlin. The barrier included guard towers placed along large concrete walls, which circumscribed a wide area (later known as the "death strip") that contained anti-vehicle trenches, "fakir beds" and other defenses. The Eastern Bloc claimed that the wall was erected to protect its population from fascist elements conspiring to prevent the "will of the people" in building a socialist state in East Germany. In practice, the Wall served to prevent the massive emigration and defection that marked Germany and the communist Eastern Bloc during the post-World War II period.
  • The Berlin Wall was a construction that divided Berlin into East and West. On March 14, 1974, Roberta Lincoln and Gary Seven conducted a mission on the Eastern side of the wall and were chased along toward the wall by East German soldiers. During the chase Corporal Erich Kilheffer thought that they might be heading towards Checkpoint Charlie, a border crossing, but the pair disappeared before then.

I tracked down the original molder who made the parts and talked to some home workers who assembled them at their homes from 1967 through 1968. The toy was labeled as a psychedelic sensation and was skin packaged on 4-1/4 inch by 14 inch printed chipboard. More can be found out about the recent reincarnation of the op-yop at WWW.op-yop.com

The Berlin Wall was officially referred to as the "Anti-Fascist Protection Rampart" () by GDR authorities, implying that neighbouring West Germany had not been fully de-Nazified. The West Berlin city government sometimes referred to it as the "Wall of Shame"—a term coined by mayor Willy Brandt—while condemning the Wall's restriction on freedom of movement. Along with the separate and much longer Inner German border (IGB), which demarcated the border between East and West Germany, it came to symbolize the "Iron Curtain" that separated Western Europe and the Eastern Bloc during the Cold War. Before the Wall's erection, 3.5 million East Germans circumvented Eastern Bloc emigration restrictions and defected from the GDR, many by crossing over the border from East Berlin into West Berlin, from where they could then travel to West Germany and other Western European countries. Between 1961 and 1989, the wall prevented almost all such emigration. During this period, around 5,000 people attempted to escape over the wall, with an estimated death toll of over 100 in and around Berlin, although that claim is disputed. In 1989, a series of radical political changes occurred in the Eastern Bloc, associated with the liberalization of the Eastern Bloc's authoritarian systems and the erosion of political power in the pro-Soviet governments in nearby Poland and Hungary. After several weeks of civil unrest, the East German government announced on 9 November 1989 that all GDR citizens could visit West Germany and West Berlin. Crowds of East Germans crossed and climbed onto the wall, joined by West Germans on the other side in a celebratory atmosphere. Over the next few weeks, a euphoric public and souvenir hunters chipped away parts of the wall; the governments later used industrial equipment to remove most of the rest. The physical Wall itself was primarily destroyed in 1990. The fall of the Berlin Wall paved the way for German reunification, which was formally concluded on 3 October 1990.
