  • Half the keep is up already, or so it sounds, for the noise of doors opening and slamming echoes down the main corridor--the sharp cracks of the newer ones, and the whining groans of the doors on hinges hundreds of years old. Sleepy servants dart in and out of chambers, some bearing burdens, some simply tagging along behind the workers, but all headed, antlike, for the outer door. The corpse mounted his horse with a light jingle of tackle. "Thank you, little bird."

  • Homecoming is the first story in chapter 25 of Sluggy Freelance, Changes. Riff, Torg, and Bun-bun return home after their foray into the Punyverse, but everything has changed in the months they were away. Aylee has bought the whole apartment complex and turned it into office space and employee apartments, so the three have no homes. No one even sees Aylee these days. Zoë could no longer college without her scholarship, so she now visits one at home in Nebraska, where she also visits her family. She first thinks her mother has seen her tattoo, but that turn out to be a misunderstanding (and embarrasing for Zoë). She also meets Clem, a guy she once went on a single date with and who now thinks he is her beau. Yet she finds her life is becoming normal, and she's relieved to hear that Torg and Riff are home safe.
  • Homecoming is the twenty-second episode, and season finale of the twelfth season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
  • On Thanksgiving, David returns to his home in Colorado where he reunites with his sister and estranged father. There, he must resolve past conflicts with his father while working to save his family's farm from a devastating plague and an unscrupulous developer.
  • The film begins with Jane Cleaver and David Murch, driving on a remote road. When they see a man, using a stool, crossing the road, David is about to hit the bricks but Jane takes over, screaming it is "one of them". She forces David to run the man over, decapitated the man in the process and eventually crashes the car. The head on the wind screen, is still alive however and screams before it is thrown off by the wipers, confirming her suspicion that it was a zombie. When an army truck arrives, it unloads more zombies, to which the two run towards the car. Jane starts to arm herself once she realizes that they can't get away. She starts shooting the zombies, slowing them down but unable to stop them. David start to ramble, about how sorry he is for everything, ignoring her insulting words toward him as he loads his own gun. He aims the weapon on the back on her head, and with a last apology, he fires. The movie cuts back to four weeks earlier, as narrated by David. On Marty Clark show, David met Jane Cleaver and the films starts again during this meeting. During the talk show, one of the talking points is a protest of anti-war activists, who were arrested for causing disorder. While, David addresses the point fairly and balanced, Jane starts to insult these protesters, claiming that Marty Clark shouldn't give them airtime to begin with. The next talking point is about a mother who heckled the president, with the question: "Why did my son die?", a question that was left unresolved. She explains that her son died because of the lies about WMD's and safety and that at the very least, she and others have the right why their family members had to die. David addresses this point, by telling the story of his brother, who allegedly died in Vietnam. He continues by expressing the wish that her son could return. That he could return and tell everyone how proud he was, to have died for his country, protecting its people. This display of prwar propaganda shocks the mother but she is cut off, before she can react. After the show, Jane and David go out for some drinks, where she expresses her amusement and surprise by his speech. She mocks the sincerity of his words, while relevating her own actions as "it is all game". They make clear that neither of them believes that the audience are really intellegent and sees them as easily manipulated. David continues by teaching her some of his tricks, where she shows signs of nymphomanic traits. They continue their evening with an BDSM session in David's hotel room. During the session, he gets called by Kurt Rand, who complemented him for his speech and inform him that they want to use the speech for the president's campaign. The only catch is, that they want to frame it like the president came up with this phrase and he only repeated it. He agrees, as Jane continues the session, by dripping hot wax on him. Later, they watch the speech of the Republican president candidate on the television. In the speech, he repeats the wish uttered by David but unlike with David, he gets his wish granted. Within 48 hours, the first soldiers actually starts returning! As new caskets are brought in, one of the soldiers guarding them, has to take care of a journalists, who wants to take pictures of the coffins. When he is reported to be inside, the second soldier goes to investigate and is spooked by noises. These noises are soon revealed to come from inside the coffins and shortly after, the first soldiers start to rise again, cornering their living colleague, who in shock, tries to shoot them. As they are dead, this has no effect. The second soldier turns up and in an attempt to save his friend, he accidently kills him instead. Just as this soldier reloads, one of the zombie soldiers tells to "be at ease, soldier," before passing him. David is driving with his mother next to him, when he is called by the news, but he refuses to go on the air again. He drives his mother to the cemetary, where he learns about the zombies firsthand. As he sees a man digging a hole on the cemetary, he believes it to be a vandal, but quickly learns it is an undead soldier and soon, more come to them. Surrounding them... Believing them to be hostile, he drives off as one of them grabbed him. They escapes the cemetary, accidently ripping off the arm of the soldier, only to discover that this has become very common. He is called to see one of these zombies, which is strapped to a stretcher in a lab. It is shown that the zombies can't be killed, as Kurt demonstrates in the lab but it is clear that they can feel the pain. He also explains that severed limbs can act autonomous as the soldier's leg kicked a doctor, after amputation. Kurt believes that they returned due to a supernatural cause. Kurt starts to dream of using these undead soldiers in the army. David asks Kurt what he thinks they want, why he thinks they return. This becomes clear the next day, if one of the soldiers, Robert Bundy enters the voting booth and makes it clear he wants to vote. Using his dog tag as identification. After he voted, Robert collapses on the floor, lifeless as before. This leads the President's team to use this in their propaganda, claiming that the zombies have returned to vote for their president. Jane Cleaver spins the story as proof of an Omen of God, proving that God is on the side of the president. The rest of the team is impressed by how Jane handles the situation and they already can taste the victory. David is so sure about this and as his narration continues, he reveals that is indeed not the case. As Jane and he are eating take-away chinese, he's called. It is revealed that one of the zombies is a "talker" and currently giving an tv interview. And to their horror, his words aren't in favor of the war. Claiming that people died for a lie, the zombie sergeant makes his intentions clear, namely that they would vote for everyone who wants to stop the war. With this reveal, the discourse chances completely. Where the resurrection of the soldiers was hailed as a sign of Heaven at first, it is now described as a curse from Hell, with the message that their right should be revoked, under the guise of public health. Jane, who was in favor of them voting earlier on, now claims that they shouldn't be allowed to vote and even go so far to call them turncoats. She continues by calling forth a witch hunt. But the zombies didn't go, and people started to become supportive to their cause and understand their pain. It does however also scare people, who don't trust the undead. Searching for an excuse to round the undead up, Kurt Rand gets crazy but Jane doesn't see the problem. Kurt continues by claiming that their numbers are dropping the polls. When David mocks the situation, Kurt makes clear that it would heavily impact their campaign, as the undead are getting to the living. When asked why none of the soldiers that returned support the war, David makes the statement that the ones who supported war are at peace and have no reason to return. The whole situation leads to a confrontation between David and Kurt, as both see only their side of the story, one against the war they started and the other still in support. When the discussion reaches his boiling point, David gives Kurt the idea to find a soldier who is in support. They go to the prison camp where they held the zombies and get the deceased soldier Gordon, whose mother heckled the president all those months ago. Kurt sees her as the cause of this all and her son as the ideal solution. Trying to blackmail the soldier, they forces him to agree with a scripted letter, namely by holding his mother at gunpoint. Instead of signing the paper however, he attacks Kurt, grabs his head and bashes his head against the table, killing him. David blames himself for what the returns of the soldiers, while Jane makes it clear that she wants to move up in life. With Kurt dead, he will be replaced by a woman named Kathy, leading to be replaced as well. As the support of the zombies increases, David tries to make clear to the Republicans are in favor of the zombies voting. Marty confronts him however with an article on a Liberal blog when the latter started about his veteran brother, Philip who died in Vietnam. The name of this brother lacks on the memorial, and no matter how David squirmed, it is revealed that his brother didn't die in the war and was even discharged from the army, after Vietnam... David, being sure that his brother died in the war, visits his mother for answer. She reveals to him that she and his father lied to him and that Philip was completely changed when he returned. It is revealed through a flashback that Philip was suicidal and almost killed himself before a young David came to ask him to help their mother with the groceries. Young David did find the gun however and accidentally shot his brother, thoughting it all to be a game. But with reality catching up with David, he realizes that he was in fact the murderer. As his mother expresses her desires to see Philip again, David realizes that he made hundreds of Philips with their lies. As the dead are voting against their President, the Republican campaign leader, Kathy, makes clear that if they want to win, they have to cheat. By doing this, they managed to win the Presidential elections. At the party that follows, Jane reveals that she will replace David but before anyone can react, a loud noise deafens them. This last lie have enraged the deceased so badly that they all are returning from the dead. The deceased of all wars: World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War... All have come back for revenge. The movie cuts back to the where the intro left off, namely with Jane shooting at the zombies and David making his excuses. He aims his gun and kills her as he is surrounded by the zombies. Too late does he realize that he has no bullets left to commit suicide. One of the zombies confronts him, revealing himself to be a Talker and tell him that they are disappointed by his inaction and his false promises. When David asks them to do what they are planning to do, the Talker as him to join their cause. It is revealed that amonst the zombies, is his brother Philip. After the Zombie Philip breaks David's neck, David join their cause and together they have taken over Washington, forcing the new president and his administration into exile.
  • Homecoming is the fourteenth episode of the fifth season of Baywatch.
  • The soldier pines and fir trees of the Hinterlands kneeled before the blue sky. Birds twittered in their branches and the wind sighed through their needles. The ground swished with the sounds of wolves prowling. There was a crescendo of hoofbeats as a pale horse appeared, bearing a dessicated rider. It exited from the narrow path that climbed the eastward facing cliffs and turned west. The deathless horse shook its head and moaned a painful sort of whinny, a crude parody of the life it once had. The rider sat hunched on his horse, breathless. A baleful moaning echoed across the Hinterlands, drowning out the sounds of the primitive and savage Owlbeasts as they hunted. "The ravine has always howled," the troll had said in the beach-front village below, "since before the Scourge. But then, it was a sacred place. Wolf's Mist Ravine we called it. Now it is just the Plaguemist Ravine." The rider, his face covered by a hood asked in a low, measured voice, full of calculating hatred, asked, "And beyond?" "Caer Darrow," the troll said. He continued working on his fishnet, trying to avoid staring at the ruin of the corpse's left cheek and empty, clawed out eyes. The corpse mounted his horse with a light jingle of tackle. "Thank you, little bird." The troll shuddered. He hated that one. Always the Forsaken were coming to this village to aid their allies in the Hunt, but this one was different, driven somehow. He knew the deathless one was seasons below him in experience, but the others in the village shook their heads when he spoke of doing something. There was something about him, they said. What he lacks in skill, he gains in hatred. And relentlessness. The rider spurred his horse on, past the Overlook cliffs, into the needled carpet of the Hinterlands. He flew past the stalking Howlers, the Trolls, the Elves. He sprinted on, following his unbeating heart. The Plaguemist Ravine greeted him with a long, mournful sigh. The rider entered the narrow ravine and rode on. His grip tightened on the reigns as he went on, every hoofbeat pounded in his mind. The ridges rose steadily on either side, closing about him, and threatening to topple over and crush him, until at last the ravine spat him out like a soaped Argus. The great brown expanse of water still called Caer Darrow stank by means of greeting. Nibblez knew it well. Just as now, at last, he knew the great foreboding manse rising out of the one major island. The Scholomance. Nibblez's hatred waxed seeing it. He hated it, because he hated HER and he knew SHE was inside. Seeing it at last, with a clear mind, for the first time in its new form, cowed him. As much as he hated her, he was afraid of her as well. The dark, empty windows stared out across the lake like Nibblez own eyes, and he felt exposed. He shrank back into the shadows and stared longingly at the school. "Soon, little bird," he said. "Soon."

  • by Sinnea ((By way of explanation, this is just a quick little ditty I dashed off to help illustrate the differences between the Alternate Universe timeline that Sinnea came from and the modern World of Warcraft world based timeline, and is all in good fun ;) )) There were no grand peals of bells, no celebrations as the forgotten son of the Elven people returned to the place that had once been his home. His heavy metal boots ringing out on paths laid with loose stones, casting a long shadow enhanced by the black cloak that unfurled from his shoulders like wings, he removed the helm he wore and his long black hair danced in the light breeze. He nodded slightly to the pair standing before him, watching him with a touch of apprehension. At his sides Sentinels stood, their bows at the ready but undrawn, for the moment, waiting for the slightest command to skewer him. A sardonic grin spread the lips of Illidan Stormrage, who had now dubbed himself The Destroyer. "Is this the grand welcome I receive? As you can see, I come alone, in a gesture of peace and unity..." He bowed low, with a mocking flourish of his hand. Malfurion growled softly, but Tyrande laid a gentle, staying hand on his arm. "He cannot harm us here, like this. It is possible he has changed, my love...and if not, he is easily stopped," she murmured close to his ear, although the glance she cast at Illidan betrayed her anxiety. "We must try and think the best of those we love, and not the worst." Malfurion narrowed his eyes as he looked Illidan over. "You have been a traitor to our people, brother...do you truly come here now, after all that you have done, with a message of peace?" Illidan's gaze flickered from Malfurion to Tyrande, and his stance shifted slightly, the corner of his grin twitching up a bit higher, as if relishing a delicious secret. "I have indeed come with a solution to the conflict between Medivh's forces and the Kal'dorei people. But first, my brother...do not be so stand-offish. Forgive me my former trespasses, and let us embrace." He held out an arm to his brother, his hands empty. Malfurion and Tyrande exchanged a cautious look, and then Malfurion sighed. "Very well..." He strode forward, unobtrusively calling the powers of the earth upon himself to protect him from any poisons or blades that Illidan might produce. Illidan spread his arms wide to embrace his brother...but as he did something happened. A wave of sensation came over all those present but him, the violet eyes of the assembled Kal'dorei flickered and they fell, stricken, to their knees. "No..." Malfurion said, pained and clutching his chest, feeling the scream of the World Tree itself as it was assaulted from its very roots by sickness, corruption, rapidly spreading through it. His body wrenched in sympathetic response, trying to lend his strength to the Tree, to help it fight back the corruption... Shadowed against the wall of the Temple of the Moon, Illidan strode forward, a huge blade in his hands. The runes along its length flared to life as with a single thrust he drove it into Malfurion's body. Malfurion gasped in disbelief, his golden eyes going wide as his brother ran him through, and as Illidan wrenched the blade back again, giving it a cruel twist, he fell forward against the steps. The force of the collision snapped one of the deerlike horns adorning his brow off, and it bounced until it came to rest at the foot of the stairs. Tyrande cried out in agony, reaching out towards her lover's slain body, her own likewise fighting back against the corruption that was rapidly spreading throughout all of their people. With a cruel grin Illidan approached her, standing over her, holding the blade that still ran with Malfurion's blood. "And you...Tyrande...you who cast me aside, betrayed me, turned me away so many times..." He murmured, his voice full of menace as he leaned forward. Tyrande gazed up at him, her eyes which had once held sympathy and forgiveness for him now full of nothing but hate. He reached towards her and she doubled over, gasping as forces moved through her, changing her, her skin paling and her eyes glowing a sickly yellow-green. "You...will serve me..."

Mówi, że sam ledwo uszedł z życiem, gdyż Ethan próbował go zabić. Muzyk próbuje uderzyć porywacza, lecz Ethan z łatwością przygniótł Charliego do drzewa i przekazał swoje żądania: „Przyprowadź Claire w wyznaczone miejsce zanim zajdzie słońce.” W innym wypadku Etan będzie zabijał każdego dnia jedną osobę. Jack, Locke, Sayid i Charlie przemyśleli sytuację. Nagle hałas budzi Boone’a. Gdy Lucy wychodzi z pokoju, Charlie chowa do kieszeni posrebrzaną papierośnicę. Dyskusja Jacka i Locke’a. Gdy ten się zjawia Jack taranuje go, lecz gubi broń. Jack ukazuje zupełnie inną stronę siebie. Udaje mu się pokonać wroga, gdy reszta podbiega z pomocą. To czas, aby znaleźć odpowiedź na kilka pytań, lecz nagle w stronę Ethana padają wystrzały. To Charlie użył broni, którą zgubił Jack. W obozie Jack pyta Charliego dlaczego to zrobił. Charlie puka do drzwi. W obozie wszystko wraca do codziennego porządku.
  • The episode begins with Claire and her friend Zach walking into the high school amphitheater with lunch as Claire's former cheerleader friends wait anxiously for the results of the Homecoming Court vote. Claire downplays the entire ritual, but Zach encourages her to check the posting and see if she had won. To Claire's surprise, she has been voted Homecoming Queen, with her main rival, Jackie, merely a member of the court. Astonished, Claire and the rest of the cheerleaders turn around to see much of the student body proclaiming congratulations and support for Claire. She later discovers that Zach had been campaigning for her, working to win the "unpopular vote" by letting everyone know that Claire is not like the popular Jackie. Jackie, however, spoils the moment in an attempt to deflate Claire's victory by poking fun at Zach. Claire, beginning to see the importance of Zach's friendship to her, promptly punches Jackie in the face. D.L. and Micah have stopped at a local diner as they flee from Las Vegas. Micah compares them to Batman and Robin, though D.L. jokes that he refuses to wear tights. A police car pulls into the lot as D.L. leaves the car to get a paper, and he becomes nervous, lowering his cap and turning to return to the vehicle when he sees that Micah is gone. Elsewhere, Jessica is testing a long-range Army sniper rifle at a firing range. She stresses the need for range on the gun; the seller replies that the rifle works up to 400 yards. A glance in the car mirror shows a nervous Niki, but Jessica only smiles, stating that it's time to go hunting. Mohinder, meanwhile, remains in India, puzzling over the dreams he recently had and the identity of the boy within them. He seeks out and ultimately finds the child, who states that he does not come to people, but they instead to him. He tells Mohinder that he already has the answers. Later that night, Mohinder has more dreams and realizes that his father was only trying to protect him when shunning his son from continuing his research. Mohinder decides to continue his father's work, discovers the password to the computer (his sister's name, Shanti) and is rewarded with a list of people with abilities who Chandra Suresh identified before his death. Nathan Petrelli obtains Isaac's painting from Mr. Linderman and views it with Simone. To protect Peter from the painting's predicted events, Nathan splashes the work with black paint and leaves. Peter arrives later and sees the ruined work, but Simone reveals a digital photograph of the painting, which shows a man, whom they presume to be Peter, lying on the cement outside a school, a pool of blood forming around his head. Simone tells him where the school is located and to be safe. Peter calls Ando to tell Hiro that he must get to Odessa, Texas, where Claire lives, and Ando promises to tell Hiro (who unfortunately jumped to six months in the past while trying to save Charlie from Sylar). Isaac himself is still in the care of Eden and Mr. Bennet, but his latest work of the future gives no answers to Mr. Bennet. Eden protests the abuse of Isaac and his talents, but Mr. Bennet is adamant that he will do everything to protect Claire from Sylar. Peter finally arrives in Texas and discovers that Hiro is in the past and unable to help him. Ando protests that Peter must not go after learning that Petrelli is essentially powerless without the presence of another hero. Peter, however, rejects staying behind and leaves the diner for an uncertain fate as Ando waits for Hiro. Zach enters Claire's bedroom via a ladder because her father grounded her from attending the homecoming game, after she punched Jackie. The two have a heart-to-heart about their friendship and embracing their "inner freak." Claire realizes that she hasn't been the best friend to Zach but vows to make it up to him, as he urges her to be comfortable with who she is. Zach convinces her to sneak out and attend the homecoming game. As Claire makes her way to the locker room in the school to change, she talks briefly in the hallway with Peter, who had just seen a display commemorating Jackie's heroics and doesn't realize that Claire is actually the cheerleader he is meant to save. In the locker room, Claire confronts Jackie about her false act of heroism in saving the people in the burning train. Suddenly, the lights in the locker room flicker and Sylar grabs Jackie from behind, believing her to be the cheerleader he is after. Claire arrives to see this (as shown in the image above) and tries to stop Sylar but is telekinetically thrown against the wall. As she is regenerating, Sylar lifts a finger, making a line across Jackie's forehead as an incision appears. Blood begins pouring down Jackie's face as she softly moans in pain. Claire rises fully healed and Sylar sees that his initial target was incorrect. Before Jackie dies, she softly tells Claire to run as Sylar throws Jackie's dead body to the ground. Peter and Mr. Bennet have heard the girls' screams and run to assist Claire; Peter arrives first in the hallway. He attempts to hold Sylar off; however, the serial killer uses his telekinetic powers to rip off locker doors and hurls them at Peter (similar to a painting of Isaac's). Peter then retreats to the amphitheater as Claire flees the growing shadow, a scene reminiscent of another one of Isaac's paintings. Peter orders Claire to get help as he faces Sylar himself. The serial killer appears in front of Peter, the two grapple, and both fall to the ground below as a pool of blood forms around Peter's head, just as Isaac's painting depicted. Claire finds Peter, who begins to heal himself due to Claire's presence. Sylar is nowhere to be found, but Claire finds comfort in finding someone with powers like her. She soon finds her father, who takes her home as she begins to confess her powers. Meanwhile, Sylar runs through the woods and is confronted by Eden, who uses her manipulation abilities (along with the help of the Haitian) to render the killer unconscious. Peter is found by the police and arrested for Jackie's murder. The final minutes of the episode show Micah and D.L. deciding to go back to Las Vegas to help Niki/Jessica, as Jessica takes aim at D.L. and fires a shot. Before the outcome is seen, the shows jumps back six months to show Hiro arriving at the diner, informing Charlie that he has arrived to save her life.

  • Jake and Rose were nominated for Homecoming King and Queen for their school's upcoming Homecoming dance. An opportunity Jake believed it to be perfect to pursue and further his relationship with Rose. Meanwhile, they also had to work together to stop the Huntsman as he neared the end of his plan to use the crystal skulls to destroy all magical creatures. At the same time Trixie and Spud had mistakenly kissed inside the "kissy kissy closet" at school. Spud had assumed he was with Stacey, while Trixie thought she was with Kyle Willkens. Unfortunately the Huntsman found out Rose was cooperating with a dragon, revealing her as a traitor to their Cause. He then forced her to betray Jake on Homecoming night as the Huntsclan had captured the last Aztec Skull. The Huntsman was then able to take possession of the Skulls Jake had previously captured and attacked the Homecoming Dance, the roof of which being where the Skulls had to be used. The Huntsman learned the American Dragon's true identity as Jake, Haley, Fu Dog, Gramps, Sun Park, Trixie, Spud battled the Huntsclan. Jake was able to shatter the Huntsman's mask, revealing his true face, but subsequently he and his friends were defeated. As the Huntsman prepared to use the Skulls to destroy all magical creatures, Rose knocked him out at the last moment. She stepped in to make her own wish; calling for the destruction of all Huntsclan instead. One by one the members of the Huntsclan rose into the night sky and were destroyed. Which included the Huntsman. However, HuntsBoys 88 & 89. seeing what was happening, renounced the HuntsClan and thereby escaped the same fate by having quited at the last minute. Rose too was embraced by the wish and was lifted into the air. When Jake tried to hold her down she explained she was okay as it would be the only way for Jake and magical creatures to be safe from the threat of the HuntsClan. After she was pulled from Jake's grasp and continued to rise to her destruction as well, he grabbed the main Skull and hastily added his own wish for her to have never been taken by the Huntsclan. Rose disappeard and there wass no sign if it had worked or not. He then destroyed the Skulls in anger before flying off. The next day, Jake met Rose outside the school. Only she had no memory of him. They also were not to have a chance to get to know each other from scratch as she was moving to Hong Kong with her family. However, Jake decided as long as she was alive and happy, he was too.

  • As the blades began to rain down on the village all were halted as they got close. It was not like they hit a solid barrier, but rather as though all of their acceleration had been completely halted. As Shenron likely expected from the village he once ran, it was quite well protected. The blades only stopped for a brief moment however, and were quickly sent in the opposite directions that they came from. Meanwhile, from inside the village, The Uzushiokage was made aware of the disturbance, and prepared himself to face it. "Osamu!, we have company." He said as he quickly made his way outside. "It hasn't been very long since the attack on Kumo, it's most likely the Jashinists. As much as I despise killing, these monsters likely won't give me a choice." Nisashi utilized his skill in bioelectricity to augment his reflexes just in case someone had made it past his barrier. "On it" Said Osamu was he his Byakugan transitioned to his Tenseigan, while the same time, spotting all of the weapons, due to the suddeny increase of mass within the are, something Osamu was quite familiar with. Without raising an eye brow, the blue eyed shinobi vanquished every weapon and explosion Nisashi suspended in mid air, erasing them from the fabric of reality via breakdown the the very matter they were composed of. "It's definitely the Jashinist." Osamu replied as he could see a red haired man standing in a house not far from their location within the village. "Nisashi, I'm taking this away from the village." Osamu said could see his surroundings clearly, three-hundred-sixty degrees, out to an untold distance. Using his immense mental capabilities, he shifted the location of the man he identified as Shenron right outside the building Nisashi just exited. From Shenron's standpoint, he would of saw a faint red ring flash before he was outside, in front of Nisashi and Osamu. The self proclaimed "God of Fuinjutsu..." Osamu said as he fortified his bodies cells and coated himself in a unique barrier for added defense. Opening his hand, he materialized a unique weapon within his hands, eighteen-feet in length. Forging fire chakra within the confines of his lungs, Osamu exhales an enhanced, massive fire ball that left a lingering trail of fire in its wake as it traveled rapidly towards the shinobi standing before him. He then levitated within the air afterwards. Nisashi seemed to show almost no reaction as Shenron began his assault, even beginning to laugh as the man charged off. "He really does not give us enough credit does he?" Nisashi thought to himself. Shenron would quickly notice that every person he seemingly killed simply poofed. Nisashi knew very well that no one in his village would be safe if they remained, but Nisashi himself refused to back down from the evils of the world. To protect his people and relocated them, leaving various clones altered or just differently dressed around the village to make it seem as though all was normal. Nisashi's hair took on a greenish hue as he became one with the Earth itself. "Besides if everyone were still here..." Nisashi said raising his foot. "I couldn't have possibly fought you seriously!" With that he slammed his foot down, and calling on the strength of his current state, he stomped the ground. This stomp carried enough force behind it to generate a massive shockwave with the force to flatten the entire village, with Nisashi at the epicenter. "May as well clear things out before we get started, it was all bound to be destroyed in this fight anyway." Nisashi thought as dust and rubble filled the area. Having observed his opponent clearly, Osamu took note of his rather swift response time to his statement. Being a hybrid of two clans, both of which were and still are, highly advanced, Osamu possessed a unique physiology. His eyes for one, even in their unenhanced form, could see objects with extreme clarity and granted him untold perception, perception that allowed him to react at speed equivalent of his mother. From his standpoint, Shenron's movements were at a standstill, allowing him to observe them in the utmost fashion, vastly superior to the ocular prowess granted by the Sharingan Uchiha were even known for. With that being said, he saw Shenron unsheath his blade before slicing the fireball in half and re-sheathing his blade. One thing the shinobi didn't take into account was the enhanced fire, which would induce several affects because his sword made contact with the fire itself. Due to Osamu enhancing his fire with Cosmic Energy, it became Cosmic Fire, allowing it to outright reduce anything Osamu chose, to ashes instantaneously. Because he couldn't utilize the energy, he couldn't sense it by any means, and sheathing his blade, Shenron spread the flames within the sheath holding the sword. Watching Nisashi activate his Earth Embodiment Technique, Osamu also manipulated the cosmic energy within the fire to spread throughout Shenron's clothing and being. By the time Shenron observed Nisashi entering his form, Osamu willed the cosmic fire to expand rapidly towards Shenron's being as the flames consumed his entire sword, sheath and part of his clothing. "Underestimate? You have another thing coming..." Osamu stated as he focused several miles up. "Talk about what? We don't negotiate with rouge-ninja or terrorist..." Osamu stated as he looked at the man. "What could you possibly have to talk about after invading this village?" Osamu stated as a five foot circle around him was seemingly unaffected by Shenron changing his surroundings. Two spirits only visible to the eyes of the Divine Sorcerer, would appear behind him, watching over the conversation. "This is a side of Shenny-kun we don't get to see often. He's actually tolerating that brat's tone." the elegant maiden spoke gliding next to the God of Death. "I don't see why he just doesn't take their souls, he hasn't gotten me a decent meal recently and I'm getting annoyed." "Osamu... Do you need me to deal with him?" Multiple voices said within the confines of Osamu's mind. "No, I'd rather not have you deal with him, or else it could cause an unwanted shift in this world." he replied with a thought to the seemingly rampant voice inside his head. "Well frankly, I don't give a damn who you are or what you want. You obviously don't know who I am, nor that Kaminoshi is my father. If you had any sense whatsoever, you'd be cautious of threatening the son of Death himself." Osamu spoke, undetered and unmoved by Shenron's suttle worlds and taunts. Nisashi put a hand on Osamu's shoulder and slowly shook his head. "We'll listen to what he has to say." Nisashi said, nearing the seat prepared for him. "Though if it's all the same to you, I'll make my own seat." Exerting his control over the Earth he made a pretty simple cylinder of stone, with a circular face large enough for him to sit in a stance reminiscent of meditation. "I will defend this village when they do come" Osamu spoke clearly, intending to protect the village with his life on the line. Our village will be repaired before they come. "How many shinobi do they plan on sending?" Osamu asked the man. "Is that all you have to say?" Said Nisashi with a tone of confidence unusual for him. "I was just preparing for a battle with a god, an invasion by people like them won't be enough to shake us now." Nisashi's tone returned to normal before uttering one last phrase. "Nothing they could do could compare to the battle I was expecting today." "Powers in numbers may be true, but numbers mean little in the face of determination and persistence" Osamu stated. "I specialize in multiple forms of combat, so little will deter me from my objective. Protecting the Jinchuriki we harbor, as well as protecting any remaining tailed beast, among the protection our our people will be our priority..." Osamu stated, planning out a strategy for the upcoming attack. "Besides it's not as if only the two of us would be here." Nisashi stated. "I simply sent the shinobi of the village away with the villagers. They simply would have gotten in the way in our fight with you. If need be they would be returned." Nisashi stretched his back out a bit and leaned forward. "What was the purpose of your attack? A man like yourself would never stoop so low as wanton destruction, unless you just got really bored." Nisashi never truly forgot the man, but had mentally written him off as a potential friend or ally quite some time ago. "So, then you wish to help us?" Nisashi said, before sighing. "You have a really weird way on making your presence known." Nisashi felt as though Shenron has forgotten who he was. "You know I don't really care what you've done in your past, or what you do currently." Nisashi leaned forward a bit. "You know damn well I would have listened to what you had to say immediately, if you arrived peacefully, and revealed yourself sooner." Analyzing the situation, Osamu cut to the chase. "Nisashi, I'll go with whatever decision you make." Osamu stated as he looked at Nisashi before cutting his eyes back to the man. Nisashi did not have to think about it long. He knew Shenron was criminal, murderer, and cared for little other than himself. However, in Nisashi's mind he was still an ally, and he hoped that Shenron felt the same way. "Very well, we'll work with you, what exactly did you have in mind?"

Anyone who has come in through the portcullis beyond would find the going slow for the traffic of people bringing their burdens out to a waiting carriage. Doreen Lomasa, garbed in a day dress, is just leaving her own chamber. From the outside, a muffled grunt is heard as a guard yanks on the heavy brass handle of the door to the court yard. It emits a sharp crack as it swings open into the cold. A small puff of vapour billows out along the ground, lit by the light from the chandeliers. The sky outside is a smooth gradient of blue, going from dark to light at the horizon. It is perfectly clear. Shuffling into the doorway, a young man murmurs thanks to the guard. He wears a blue cloak, the cowl thrown over his head, under which plumes coming from his mouth can be seen. He steps over the threshold, and into the warmth of the indoors, and with a stiff hand pulls his cowl back. It is the youngest son, Lanar. His hair is slightly shaggy and in disarray, and his face is baggy and tired. A pack is clung over his shoulder, the strap of which bites into the fabric of his attire. He pauses for a moment, bewildered by the bustle, and narrows his eyes at his sister, appraising her for a moment, before widening them again. "Sister?" He says. Doreen Lomasa is moving at no leisurely pace, and even once her steps cease, her velocity carries her another a half-foot forward. She stares at her brother, brows quirked. There are several messages to be read in her face, and not one of them is 'welcome'. "Welcome," she says, kindly enough. "You can tell her 'no'." Lanar clasps a thumb under the strap of his pack and lifts it over his shoulder. It drops onto the floor with a dull thud. His face is still deadset, but he walks forward, anyhow, looking his sister up and down. He frowns for a moment, not comprehending. "T-tell who?" Doreen Lomasa does the same for Lanar, her eyes taking the measure of him in a glance. "Mmm. You look terrible. Mother didn't send you? Shall I have someone pick that up?" She cocks her head towards the pack. "I'm so sorry--you really do look tired, but if we're to talk, you'll have to follow me. I've got things to do. Otherwise, I will set you up with a chamber and a bed, but I will be gone in a few hours." Lanar Lomasa's eyes flicker sideways at the line of servants trooping back and forth. "No apology needed, sister." He says, turning around and scooping up his pack. "Who are yo-" He stands back up. "Why do you drive the household so at this hour? It is murder out there. Why the urgency?" Doreen Lomasa is off down the hallway again, speaking so that only someone keeping up with her could hear, "I'm leaving. You really have exquisitely bad timing. This is only the second time I've left since I got here, and that must have been half a year ago." She's headed for the kitchens. She glances sideways towards a passing servant. "I do not 'travel light'." She says those last words disdainfully, as though they meant something common or in bad taste. Lanar Lomasa grimaces as he shuffles after her, dragging his pack along the ground. Eventually, as they pass a pillar, he gives up and throws it against the pillar, before catching up with her. He works off his gloves as he says, not without a hint of exasperation, "Doreen, what /are/ you talking about? Who's left you th-" He stops, and doesn't continue. "Arturo was here. I'm going to get Anys. And to get away from that horrid Wraye Mikin, who will be out here any minute, mark my words. Who left me what?" Doreen glances back at the sound of the crashing pack, and taps a boy passing with an oversized chest. "Drop that, get that, take it out of the way," she says, pointing. "Do not." Lanar countermands, patting the boy on the shoulder. "I'll attend to it myself." He turns back and follows her, whilst tucking his gloves into his belt. "Your daughter. At Orana's glade. What about her? I saw her yesterday." He chews his lips as he mumbles, "Wraye...wraye..." He asks: "Who's Wraye Mikin?" Doreen Lomasa stops in her tracks a second time. "Orana's Glade?" she asks, dumbstruck, brushing off the questions. "Not the Castle--" She places a hand on her hip and bites down on her lip. Lanar stops with her and leans on one leg toward her. "Not the Castle." He says. "Now, if you would care to enlightening me?" Doreen Lomasa frowns. "Anys was supposed to be at the Castle of the Hours," she says grousily. "It was where I was bound, and Light, but Arturo would have let me go all the way there thinking she was there." A pause while she digests some of her irritation. "Wraye Mikin is a new cousin of ours--the girl swore to Mother that she'd convince me to pay a visit, and she's been most cursedly persistent. I am in a hurry because I meant to leave yestermorn, but was delayed, and wish to make good time today. I suppose if I had left before, it would all have been a waste." Lanar Lomasa rubs his chin with a grubby palm, whilst listening. "...Ah." He says hesitantly. "So you have no idea where your daughter is. You know she's broken her ankle, don't you?" Doreen Lomasa says, "You know that too, do you? Was /everyone/ informed before me?" Then, without any pause, she asks, "Can a pup be taken from its mother at two weeks, do you think?" "Can a pup be tak-?!" Lanar asks, halfway between confusion and a sneer. "Might I just clarify this: your daughter has taken leave without your permission?!" Doreen Lomasa says, "Oh yes. Ran off about a month ago, and Art dropped by only yesterday to imply that it was my fault, and so is the broken ankle, somehow as well. Now I'm going to bring her a pup, I think, because...well, you can't beat a girl with a broken ankle, can you? So I might as well give her something to quell her when I drag her back here." She beckons and moves into the kitchen. River Turn Keep Dining Hall An airy chamber with floor-to-ceiling windows, a long polished biinwood table surrounded by twenty-four chairs beneath a glittering crystal chandelier, and an open kitchen preparation area with an L-shaped counter, where the estate's servants work in full view of the guests. Lanar's brow furrows, and he purses his lips in incredulity. He follows her through. He sighs. "I must say, she recognised me before I did her. The last time I really saw her was when she was still an infant. Are things difficult between you two?" The dining hall is a good deal quieter than the hallway, and the few people who are already breaking their fasts at the long table are subdued by exhaustion. Their weariness must be infectious; tiredly, Doreen says, "I can hardly convey to you the understatement of that question in the time I have. Why are you here, Lanar?" She squints at the open kitchen, and looks displeased for what she finds, or does not find. Some of servants at the table look up at Lanar confusedly. He inhales deeply, and sidles over to a steaming hunk of bread, sitting by the fire. "I had to get out of Orana's glade. Turned twenty the other day. I'm not particularly fond of my mother, either, you know." He replies, bending over the loaf and tearing off a piece. "Although, as I gather, most people have been heading in the opposite direction." He pops a piece into his mouth and chews. "Well," says Doreen. "Happy birthday. Another year. Engaged yet? You don't have to answer--that's a jest. Though, if you do care to answer, we're both rather curious..." She looks around for the nearest commandable person, and decides on a girl leaning up against the wall. "Fetch Master Slope," Doreen bids. The girl does not respond, and presently it becomes apparent that she is asleep on her feet. Doreen goes to shake her gently by the shoulders, and repeat her command. "Driving them hard as ever. You seem well." Lanar says. "No, I'm not engaged. Three years now I've been well, still holed up at the glade. Partly why I've decided to come back. How long has it been? Four years, five years?" Doreen, who has nowhere to go until the cook arrives, stays still. "Four years, six months," she says breezily, crossing her arms. "How does Anys look?" Lanar nods, with the twitchiness of someone who has not rested. "She looks well. She's grown so much. I'd only seen her, once, since she was an infant, last year at Father's funeral." He sniffs. "She had company: a young man, what was his name? Oh, yes: Sion Kahar. Trying to teach her to mount a horse with a broken ankle." He pauses. "So you're going down to fetch her?" "A Kahar? A horse? She'll break her other ankle. /I/ should break her other ankle--maybe she'll stay put for five minutes. Did she mention me?" Doreen sniffs. "Yes. I'd offer to bring you along, but you don't look up to it, and we'll be back soon, if the Light shines well and warm." Lanar shrugs and snorts, turning a piece of bread over in his hand. "As it ever does on our family." He says. "I spent seven years in bed. Sleep is not something I'm going to find myself in deficit anytime soon. I'll go if you go, although I wonder whether you should let her come back of her own accord." Doreen Lomasa says, "I'm glad I'm not the only one who wonders." Just then, the plump, green-eyed cook enters and she turns to him. "Your bitch, the one who whelped, where is she?" Burgan Slope blinks, trying to understand through his sleepy haze, and starts, at length, to protest that the pups are too young to leave the mother. Doreen just rubs her temples and asks again, voice tighter. Resigned, the cook points her towards a corner of the hall where a nest of rushes and old rags has collected. Lanar throws the remnants of the loaf onto the table, and walks over to the pile where the pups are. As he does so, he says, "I don't want to intrude on your family affairs, but I might have some insight into how your daughter feels." He nods at Slope, and interjects quickly, "Hello again, Burgan." Before continuing. "If you really want her back, I might act as intermediary. It's just a suggestion, nothing more." Doreen follows Lanar over to the corner. A mutt, neither big nor dainty, lifts her head, pulls back her lips, and growls. "Will you call her off?" she says, and it is unclear whether she is speaking to Slope or her brother. Then, more directedly, she says, "What does she feel?" Lanar Lomasa peers at the mutt, and crouches down to get a better look at dog, apparently unfazed. "I wouldn't know. We only spoke briefly." He looks up. "Why would Arturo lie to you?" Doreen says impatiently, "He thinks he's doing her a favor by keeping me from her. Insight. You said you had some insight." "/Might have/." Lanar says, insistently, looking back at the dog, which is still growling. "I don't know how much Mother made it clear, but we have not had an easy time together." "What? I cannot follow so much at once--will you give me the insight that you might or might not have?" Doreen reaches a hand for the dog, who snaps at her. "Slope!" she squeals, backing off. "This dog probably has fleas, and so will her pups," she complains. "Lady Mikin's dog just whelped too. Pretty things, and far more fit to be taken to the table, which I'm quite sure Anys is going to try...but they're only a few days old, and surer to die on the way than these." She looks as though she's not paying much attention to what Lanar has to say. "That's insight as in empathy." Lanar replies, tiredly, his head jerking back as the dog snaps. He tries putting a hand out for the dog to sniff. "I wouldn't know. I am partial to mutts. Hardier, smarter." He looks up, "In any case, I wouldn't risk alienating or aggravating her." Master Slope advances to help, but the dog is already quietening herself, extending her black nose to sniff at Lanar. "I'd prefer clean and compact, but this will have to do," says Doreen. "Can you get her off of them?" From time to time, a pup squirms visibly beneath the dog, or lets out a small, piping cry. Some have open eyes; others doze fitfully. "Perhaps that might be what Arturo was hinting at." Lanar proceeds to run his hand up the dog's snout and pet its head. "You might do better to let her blow off a little steam before coming back. How old is she now? Fifteen? Sixteen?" Doreen Lomasa looks at Lanar queerly. "Blow off--what are you talking about? My daughter is not a pot. She is a girl. Thirteen." "Thirteen." Lanar says, dropping his hand away from the bitch. "Well. How do you intend to go about making her stay? How do you think Mother feels about this, bearing in mind that she's living with her?" Lanar hrms slowly, and bites his lower lip. "I'm not so sure you would want to get the pup away this soon." He says. "I don't think it would give Anys the right message if you handed her a pup, near death because of untimely removal from its mother, as a conciliatory gesture." He stands up and wipes his hand on his cloak. "Do you?" He adds. "And don't ask me about Mother. Your guess is as good as mine." Doreen Lomasa glances back towards the doorway, thinking. "Perhaps Lady Mikin's dog...I could take one of those pups and put it to this one's teat, to keep it alive when she leaves the keep with her dog." She looks back to her brother. "She never mentions you in her letters." Lanar Lomasa sniffs. "No." He says. "I presume she was sparing you the ugly details. Although quite how she could ever cast herself in a positive light if she were to relate goings on is beyond me. Anyhow: Anys. You're set on fetching her yourself? I might make a good intermediary. I have no allegiances, remember." Doreen Lomasa blinks. "Intermediary? I haven't seen her for a month. There are enough people between us already--I have no wish to enlist another." Lanar Lomasa nods. "So it's decided, is it? Tell me, how do you intend to keep her here, assuming you bring her back?" Doreen Lomasa clucks her tongue and turns away from the dog, who sinks back down. "I'm not sure. Perhaps I will stay there a time. Oh, it's getting late! Are you coming?" Lanar Lomasa shakes his head. "If there's no point, I shan't bother riding all the way back so soon. I need to finish setting myself up here, first. Speaking of which, which room may I use?" Doreen Lomasa tugs on her cuffs and leans out to kiss Lanar quickly on the cheek, should he permit it. Then she is hurring for the door, passing Slope and Lanar both. "Ask the castellan, Master Rift. I think the third one down the hall from here, on the right, is free, but ask one of the chambermaids. I really must go now!" Lanar Lomasa has a quizzical look on his face as she leans in to kiss, but allows her to do so, anyway. "Suit yourself. A mother's prerogative is a mother's prerogative." He says, shrugging. He turns to watch her leave. As she reaches the door, he says. "It's good to see you again."
