  • A sailor, seaman, mariner, or seafarer was a person who navigated water-borne vessels or assists in their operation or maintenance. The term can apply to pirates, professional mariners, military personnel, and recreational sailors as well as a plethora of other uses. Etymologically, the name preserves the memory of the time when ships were commonly powered by sails, but it applies to the personnel of all vessels, whatever their mode of locomotion.
  • Sailor was a sailor who appeared in the episode, Dead Man Talking (episode).
  • Popeye is widely regarded as a prototypical sailor; tough, rough, and fond of going on adventures across the seven seas. As well, his exploits as a U. S. Navy sailor have been featured in several animated cartoons since the 1940s.
  • Sailors were Ga-Matoran who sailed through the waters of their region with skill and speed. They also did the job of making Flax and Rope from String. The Ga-Matoran of Metru Nui were the only ones who were not completely dependent on the Le-Matoran Chute System, as they used their boats as another form of transportation.
  • Sailor is a type of Trainer Class introduced in Generation I. They are men wearing a sailor's uniform, flexing their muscles. They are found commonly near bodies of water, such as ports or lighthouses. They mostly use Water- type Pokémon, but have been known to use Fighting-type Pokémon like the Machop family and Poliwrath and even the Normal-type Raticate.
  • Sailors and other dock workers can be found around the harbor in Betancuria South in Part One, and a sailor can be seen around Westwood in Part Two. Any women found wandering around by themselves in or near the harbor may be approached by workers looking for sex. A nearby empty dockhouse is an ideal place for servicing them. Interaction with the sailors, specifically the dark skinned sailor, is required for Lesson 5. See Miniquests: Harbor and Whore for more information.

  • The Sailor was first released in 1965.
  • Sailors are another type of citizen in Port Kapul and Port Kurualm(Elona+). They are virtually the same as any other citizen except they have a different sprite model. In combat, they move close to target and use melee attack.
  • The Sailor is a Minifigure that was released in 2011 as a part of 8804 Minifigures Series 4. He wears a sailor cap with an anchor on it (which is a new mould), a sailor uniform, and plain white pants. His face has its right eye open and its left eye shut to look in the telescope.
  • Sailor is one of the roleplaying subclasses in Elder Tale.
  • A sailor was any individual who worked aboard, or derived entertainment from, ocean-going sailing vessels. The water world of Spira had many sailors among its residents who enjoyed sailing their yachts. The term "sailor" was also used to describe a crewmember of a wind rider on the planet Sevarcos II who was in charge of operating the sail.

  • Sailors currently on duty, in the ocean, are much different than the sailors who are on duty, in bars. These sailors regularly do rigorous work, such as maintaining the ship, swabbing decks, adjusting instruments, grasping telescopes, filling torpedo tubes, and firing test rounds. Many sailors get very ripped, and very sweaty, doing all of this work in the company of other men. Surprisingly, every sailor is straight as an arrow, and would never consider having sexual relationships with their fellow crewmen. Many sailors spend years away from home, patrolling the seas or providing support for troops that are stationed in countries that are somewhat near to water -- which, with the advent of modern technology in the past three-hundred or so years, is everywhere.
  • These relics have been stolen by the Evil Wizard's forces and he asks the King's knights to retrieve them for him, so he can help by carrying them to the next continent, where the Evil Wizard's castle awaits.
  • The Sailors are an aquatic, crustacean-like species from Orion's Arm. They are known for the fact that they are natural, biological sailboats.
  • These people worked on a Japanese merchant ship carrying cargo. The ship was attacked by pirates, and eventually destroyed by the Amadeus Syndicate (using the Bura Gariae and the Sea Satan). Most of them ran for their lives, others tried to hide, or even jump overboard. However, many of them were taken prisoner.
  • A very simple costume. A white shirt, black pants and shoes, sailor's collar (it can be easily maid from blue fabric with attached white strips), sailor's cap and toy binoculars.
  • The Sailor outfit is an outfit worn by some of Arkadij Jegorov's Crew. However, Agent 47 doesn't remember sailors in his flashbacks.
  • The Sailor was a man who jumped in to the song that Bart and Milhouse were singing, Springfield, Springfield, singing "New York, New York." Bart then tells him that New York is that way and points him in a way to which the sailor replies, "Thanks."
  • The term "Yankee traders" referred to American sailors of the 18th and 19th centuries who traveled Earth's oceans "in search of mercantile and territorial opportunity." 24th century Federation scholars compared the Ferengi to these ancient seafarers. (TNG: "The Last Outpost" ) In an alternative 1944, Alicia Travers assumed that Jonathan Archer was a sailor because she associated his Enterprise NX-01 mission patch with the USS Enterprise(CV-6). (ENT: "Storm Front") Nog described his cousin Gant as "just another sailor on the Great River." (DS9: "Treachery, Faith and the Great River")
  • Sailor is a profession in the Warcraft RPG. The term "sailor" generically refers to those who sail the seas of Azeroth and their practices range from benign to despicable. Humans are well known for their sailing prowess, but many races have proficiency on the waters of Azeroth. Sailor and crewman are a neutral terms, whereas buccaneer, freebooter, and pirate tend to have negative connotations.
  • You sailed on a seagoing vessel for years. In that time, you faced down mighty storms, monsters of the deep, and those who wanted to sink your craft to the bottomless depths. Your first love is the distant line of the horizon, but the time has come to try your hand at something new. Discuss the nature of the ship you previously sailed with your Dungeon Master. Was it a merchant ship, a naval vessel, a ship of discovery, or a pirate ship? How famous (or infamous) is it? Is it widely traveled? Is it still sailing, or is it missing and presumed lost with all hands? What were your duties on board—boatswain, captain, navigator, cook, or some other position? Who were the captain and first mate? Did you leave your ship on good terms with your fellows, or on the run?

Description from LEGO.com
  • The brave and trusty Sailor can always be counted on in a nautical emergency. He can tie knots like nobody’s business, spot a lighthouse through his spyglass from a hundred leagues’ distance in the middle of a storm, and hoist a mainsail or batten down the hatches in no time flat. The Sailor has spent his whole life at sea, and he knows every tide and fathom like the back of his hand. He just doesn’t feel like himself if he’s not out on a sailing ship, feeling the deck roll beneath his feet and hearing the gulls squawking overhead. Freedom, adventure and the great wide sea: that’s the life for him!

Humans are well known for their sailing prowess, but many races have proficiency on the waters of Azeroth. The basic sailor, sometimes called a crewman, performs all the basic duties aboard ship that usually don't involve cooking food or maintaining machines aboard. The head cook on a ship is usually called the galley chief. The engineer maintains machines and mechanisms. The leaders of most sailors and the boats they serve on are called captains. The more skilled among them are usually called mates and navigators who serve their captain and act as the captain's lieutenants. The second in command is usually called "first mate". Often ships carry soldiers called marines who specialize in battle at sea or from a ship. Marines may or may not have specific sailing skills. Sailor and crewman are a neutral terms, whereas buccaneer, freebooter, and pirate tend to have negative connotations.
