  • One of the Players' more long-term plans was to eliminate Winston Churchill before World War II. However, their efforts to assassinate him in the Boer War were averted by the Sixth Doctor and Peri Brown, the Second Doctor saved Churchill from being captured and sent to Germany during World War I- the same effort resulting in Churchill being declared off-limits for some time as too much attention had been drawn to others' interest in him- and the Sixth Doctor and Peri again assisted Churchill in 1936 in preventing Edward VIII from dismissing the government in favour of a new parliament allied with Adolf Hitler. Because every character, including the player is made of sprites, a player can't see the other player's real weapon. The player's sprite looks like a green armored space marine, holding an assault rifle and wearing a helmet.

Players create characters to enter the world created by the Storyteller. Some games give more specific roles to players, such as the Shadowguide in Wraith: The Oblivion. In Troupe Play, each player controls multiple characters.

The base tile is the first tile that is a basic tile that shows how your player looks like initially. After this, move on to the Animations tab. The Animations tab may look daunting at first, but it is actually pretty easy to understand. Here, you can add other tiles of your player facing in different directions, walking, etc. To add a tile, click the empty box next to an animation like face north or step west 1 and either click the CHOOSE TILE button at the bottom of the screen or type in a tile name. The next tab available for Player actors is Character Behavior. This tab allows one to choose how his or her player actually behaves in their game. Movement speed and movement in certain directions do not work right now, so ignore these features. You can choose a shot actor that you want your player to use. After choosing a tile, you can add sound effects, adjust shot rate (how many shots the player can have on the map at once), shot range (how far your shot goes), shot damage against player (if you want to let the player kill itself), and shot damage against NPCs or items (lets you kill enemies). Below that is touch damage, which is damage that the player does to enemies when you touch them during a game. Players belong in Active Layer.

  • Player is the minor character of Rugrats that he is voiced by Scott Menville.
  • The term player generally refers to any individual who 1.actively trains, trades, swaps, or catches Pokémon in the RPG, or 2.actively participate in Chatroom or Trainer's Corner discussions. Some people use player only to refer to those individuals who engage in the former activities.
  • Since the game is played from a first person perspective, a player does not see his or her sprite on the main portion of the screen, except for a hand or two when certain weapons are selected or used. Because every character, including the player is made of sprites, a player can't see the other player's real weapon. The player's sprite looks like a green armored space marine, holding an assault rifle and wearing a helmet. In Doom and Doom II, the player stands for an unnamed battle-hardened marine sent to Mars for a violent response against an irresponsible commander (see Doom's protagonist), while in other Doom engine based games it is a particular character fitting the corresponding background story. In the Doom games, the player's face is shown on the status bar, where it reflects the character's health (becoming progressively bloodier as the player's health falls) and reacts to events such as being attacked, stepping on a damaging floor, or finding a weapon or power-up. The player moves in response to the keyboard, mouse or joystick at either walking speed or running speed. The forward/backward speeds are somewhat higher than the sideways speed; these movements can be combined advantageously via straferunning. The maximum turning speed with the mouse may be adjusted by the user, although it may trigger a bug in the menu system if set very high. The player is the fastest character in the game. You can outrun all the other characters in Doom. In a multiplayer game, the other players appear as marines in differently colored uniforms and armor. In the Doom games the colors are green, indigo (gray), brown, and red, although various source ports permit more choices of color, and sometimes more than four players in a game. The sprites for a player are rendered in a green suit; to draw another player, the rendering engine remaps the shades of green to shades of the corresponding color. A player spawns with 100% health, a pistol, and 50 bullets. The fists may also be used as a weapon. In Hexen, on the other hand, the player's attributes depend on the chosen character class. When killed, the player's neck splits open, and gives a horrifying shriek before collapsing and gurgling on his own blood. When respawning after being killed, all acquired items (such as armor, non-default weapons, ammo, power-ups, and keys) are lost. In deathmatch mode, one exception is made to this, as players always spawn with all the keys. In order to be playable in single player mode, a level must have a player 1 start thing. Adding start things for players 2 through 4, typically located close by, will enable cooperative play. Deathmatch start positions are usually located far from each other, and one is chosen at random each time a player spawns. The absence of player starts will cause a single player or cooperative game to crash, and a deathmatch game to exit with an error message.

If one or some players accomplish the mission, it counts as a victory for all players - they lose consciousness until the next day, when they must face a new mission. Players are erased in the same conditions an alive person would die (not necessarily within combat) or if they do not accomplish the mission within the assigned time limit. The mission delivered on the last day of the week is always to defeat the Game Master of the week. All Players must bear: * A Player pin that distinguishes them as players, enabling them to "scan" the minds of non-players, among other effects. * Their cell phone, in which they receive missions via SMS (the in-game menu is designed like a menu from a cellphone). If this mission has a time limit, their right palms are painfully imprinted with a timer when they finish reading the mission requirements. This timer vanishes if they complete the mission. They also are given a small set of other pins at the start of the game so they can use them in battle. Players do not have any special powers beyond the ones that pins and the Pact give them. As a consequence, they cannot travel to other planes, with the exception of certain Realground areas emblazoned with a red Reaper decal. Most pins cannot be used out of battle (with exception of the Player Pin and Psychokinesis, and most players can only use a small set of pins, being limited to Shockwave or Psychokinesis (in the case of Beat and Shiki). Neku shows to be an utter exception, being able to use virtually every collectible pin in the game. Still, the rule preventing him to use pins out of battle holds for him. The exect nature of the Psychokinesi seems to very from player to player for example: Neku and Shiki can both use Psychokinesis but only Shiki can animate objects while Neku can only move them from one place to another. Beat can use his skateboard to augment his Shockwave ability even though Neku can use Shockwave, he cannot perform the tricks that Beat does because he does not have a skateboard. Joshua can cause random street items to fall from the sky. He can do this in the game because he is not really a player. Players who have not done this Pact or whose companion has been erased are thus unable to use psychs until they find a new partner and pact with him/her, having seven minutes to do so. They are also exposed to attacks from all Noises (the Pact normally defends them from Noise they do not intend to attack). They must fight in pairs, with each member at a different "zones" in the same space; they only can sense the "zone" they are in (see Fusion attack for the exception to this rule). The reason for this is that the vast majority of Noises are able to live in both zones simultaneously, with each manifestation free to move independently from the other. Both manifestations share the same health, so when a Noise is erased in a zone, it disappears from the other one as well. Same applies to both players. Performance of a pair is increased accordingly to the synchronization between their actions. (See Light Puck.) Players are ranked at the end of every game, and they may be erased, accepted within the Reapers or Angels (this only happens with the absolute best of them), or reincarnated, according to their performance.
  • A player is a person who plays the Qpawn simulation. They have a wide range of ages, professions, and backgrounds. They take control of a Leader of a nation and direct his or her actions in an attempt to further their political goals and ambitions. A player is generally known by his leader's name, but it is acknowledged that the leader is not actually the person. This person, or player, is known in record keeping by a username known as a "passport." This passport allows Qpawn Personnel to keep track of that person's progress in the simulation, to know what nation that person has played before, and to know whether that player is qualified for changing nations and/or advancement.

He or she is also usually charged with the creation of their character's game-mechanical traits and character sheet, and can also indulge in the pleasure of spending earned experience and other resources as they see fit. Some games give more specific roles to players, such as the Shadowguide in Wraith: The Oblivion. In Troupe Play, each player controls multiple characters.

(PROSE: Players) In an attempt to create new potential for more games, the Players attempted to arrange for Napoleon Bonaparte to win the Napoleonic Wars, the Countess having devised a plan to expand Napoleon's empire further and then allow it to collapse, his former subjects reverting to their original, smaller kingdoms and going to war with each other once again, allowing the Players to take control of the resulting small countries and direct their actions personally. These plans were thwarted by the Second Doctor, although his new companion Serena died in the process when she sacrificed herself to save the Duke of Wellington from an assassination attempt prior to the Battle of Waterloo. (PROSE: World Game) Deciding that the time had come for an Endgame so that they could move on to other worlds, the Players attempted to start World War III in 1951 by plunging America and Russia into nuclear war; play would only end when one side annihilated the other. The Players used agents to influence the mind of Harry S. Truman in the White House, but were prevented when the Eighth Doctor informed the Secret Service of their plan. In Russia, the Countess seduced Josef Stalin, and whispered in into his ear whilst he slept that China and America were aiming nuclear missiles at his cities. The Doctor convinced her to abort her game as she saw more potential to play further games on Earth, the Countess subsequently assisting him in stopping other Players' efforts to fully brainwash Truman.
