A Bolian's heart is located on the right side of their body. Their blood is vivid blue in color, suggesting the presence of hemocyanin. However, it is known that the Bolian blood is highly different from that of other species, particularly Vulcans, to the point that blood transfusion between a Vulcan and a Bolian is impossible. Besides, there have been several hints that the Bolians' internal fluids are rather odd, and possibly corrosive. Sexual relationship with Bolians is harmful for Human health. Also, during a power shortage on the spaceship Voyager, it was stated that the malfunctioning toilets would be a real problem, especially because there were Bolians on board.
