His known moves are Shadow Ball, King's Shield, Sacred Sword, and Shadow Sneak. He's naturally Quiet and thoroughly cunning. His ability is Stance Change.
- During its training, and mentioned by Thert in the Hoenn Arc. Buizel was revealed to have evolved into a Floatzel.
- Crustle was caught by Emerald when it was blocking an exit out of Seaside Cave. His known moves are X-Scissor, Rock Wrecker, Shell Smash, and Earthquake.
- As Sandile, he was very lonely before meeting Emerald. He later met him in the Desert Resort when he was training. His known moves are Crunch, Dig, Iron Tail, and Aerial Ace. As said before, He's Lonely, but likes to fight, and his ability is Moxie.
- Emerald received an egg from a Breeder as thanks for helping her with the berry planting and for saving her from Team Galactic along with Thert, Summer, and Charlotte. As a Gible, she was used to battle against a Team Galactic Grunt's Golbat and was able to curb stomp the battle with an Iron Head and a Dragon Rage. She evolved into Gabite during a Gym battle against Maylene's Lucario and defeated it with her new move, Dig. She evolved into Garchomp so she and Charlotte's Flareon can win against a Team Galactic horde. Her known moves are Earthquake, Dragon Claw, Iron Head, and Stealth Rock. She's very Jolly and somewhat of a clown. Her ability is Rough Skin.
- His known moves are Fiery Dance, Quiver Dance, Bug Buzz, and Giga Drain. He is Modest, very finicky, and his ability is Flame Body.

He also helped a sick one named Moomoo, who Emerald also received. The other two are nicknamed Bessie and Daisy. They each have different marks behind their ears in order to be better distinguished.

- Emerald received Torchic from Professor as thanks for rescuing him from the Poochyena trio. He evolved into Combusken in a battle against a Team Magma Grunt's Poochyena and won using Double Kick. He later evolved into Blaziken during Emerald's 5th Gym battle against Norman's Slaking and was able to burn it with his newly learned move Blaze Kick despite losing; thus allowed Shelgon to defeat it with a Dragon Claw. His moves are Blaze Kick, High Jump Kick, Stone Edge, and Protect. He has an Adamant nature and is proud of his power. His ability is Blaze in his base form and has Speed Boost in his Mega-Evolved form.
- Emerald received Vivi as a special Pokemon from Professor Bianca prior to Emerald's Start To A Bumpy Road. She wasn't used very often for Emerald's Gym Battles because he was busy helping her with her fear issues. She evolved into Espeon to help save Emerald from his demise by Ghetsis' Toxicroak and defeated it with a powerful Confusion attack. Her known moves are Psychic, Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam, and Grass Knot. She has a Timid nature and is highly alert to sounds. Her ability is Magic Bounce.

- Braviary was caught in Route 4 on Monday while Emerald was on his way to Nimbasa City. He fought against Elesa's Zebstrika , Clay's Krokorok, etc. His known moves are Aerial Ace, Superpower, Roost, and Hone Claws. Despite his Docile personality, he likes to thrash about and has Defiant for his ability.
- Audino was caught in a patch of grass near the Virbank Complex. She was used as a tracker to help find the two Neo Team Plasma Grunts with her sensitive ears. Her known moves are Heal Pulse, Thunder Wave, Simple Beam, and Flamethrower. She is Relaxed, likes to relax, and her ability is Regenerator.
- His known moves are Bulk Up, Knock Off, Stone Edge, and Drain Punch. He is Adamant, has a sturdy body, and his ability is Sheer Force.
- Chansey came along with Emerald due to her thirst for adventure and wanting to heal Pokemon during her travels with Emerald as well. With a powerful bond formed after an incident with Team Rocket and touched by Emerald's resolve to never abandon her, she evolved into Blissey. She may not look like it, but she's incredibly strong. Her known moves are Wish, Heal Bell, Seismic Toss, and Toxic. She is Bold and highly persistent and her ability is Natural Cure.
- Draconis was a Dragonite that Emerald caught in a Hidden Grotto in Route 18. Her known moves are Dragon Pulse, Extreme Speed, Iron Head, and Thunderbolt. She is known to have a Mild nature, has a sturdy body, and her ability is Multiscale.
- As a Trapinch, she was caught in around the Reversal Mountain entrance. Her known moves are Earth Power, Steel Wing, Dragon Claw, and Stone Edge. She's Hasty, but often dozes off, and her ability is Levitate.
- Originally caught as a Litwick in Celestial Tower. During Emerald's battle against Ghetsis, Chandelure was able to beat Ghetsis' Cofagrigus and Seismitoad with one hit each.His known moves are Shadow Ball, Will-O-Wisp, Flamethrower, and Energy Ball. He is Rash and is a little quick tempered. His ability is Flame Body.
- Emerald caught Gyarados when it was rampaging all around Lake of Rage. He refused to listen to Emerald's commands and was the reason why he lost to Pryce in his 7th Johto Gym battle. But after seeing his other Pokemon easily sweeping Archer's Pokemon the second time they battled, he started acknowledging Emerald's skills, strategy, and determination as a Trainer. His known moves are Waterfall, Dragon Dance, Earthquake, and Ice Fang. He is Adamant and is quick tempered. His ability is Intimidate.
- Her known moves are Night Daze, Flamethrower, U-Turn, and Sludge Bomb. She is Naive, very mischievous, and her ability is Illusion.
- Emerald caught Riolu back in Floccesy Ranch while on his way to find the Breeder's Herdier. Riolu was used against Cheren's Lillipup and won against it with a Counter attack. He later evolved into Lucario in a future episode. His known moves are Aura Sphere, Ice Punch, Bone Rush, and Flash Cannon. He is Bashful, is capable of taking hits, and has the ability Steadfast.
- Emerald's 4th caught Pokemon in the Virbank Complex along with Growlithe as an Elekid. He evolved into Electabuzz later on in the future. He was used against Drayden's Flygon and was able to win despite the type disadvantage. He evolved into Electivire during his battle against Marlon's Wailord by taking advantage of his own and its speed. His known moves are Thunder Punch, Brick Break, Ice Punch, and Earthquake. He is Hardy, likes to run, and his current ability is Motor Drive.
- Emerald caught Hydra as a Zweilous while he was traveling in Victory Road. He evolved during his battle with Catilin but their battle was cancelled due to Hydra going on a rampage; However, Emerald, Hydra, and his Pokemon team reconciled after the incident. His known moves are Dragon Pulse, Earth Power, Flash Cannon, and Dark Pulse. He is Rash, somewhat vain, and has the ability Levitate.
- Samurott was originally an Oshawott and Emerald's first Pokemon overall to get caught. He was used in the first Gym battle against Cheren's Patrat and won. He evolved into Dewott during his battle against Roxie's Whirlipede using his skills against Whirlipede's speed. He later evolved into Samurott after his victory against Zinzolin's Cryogonal. His known moves are Razor Shell, Megahorn, Swords Dance, Aqua Jet. His ability is Torrent. He is Adamant and is strong willed.
