She has since worked as a mercenary and assassin and feels a need to prove herself by killing Wolverine. Played by Kelly Hu, a mutant version of Lady Deathstrike (here called "Deathstryke"), without any of her back story, appeared as a brainwashed henchwoman of William Stryker in the 2003 film X-Men 2: X-Men United. She also re-appeared in X-Men: The Official Game, where she was revealed to be Silver Samurai's apprentice. In 2009, Lady Deathstrike was ranked as IGN's 78th Greatest Comic Book Villain of All Time.

In the following years, the girl was trained in the most deadly arts of Teras-Kasi by Lord Darkon, as well as many ancient Sith force techniques, growing to become an uncompromisingly efficient and vicious young woman. Intense, brutal conditioning and mental training regimen was also a mandatory part of her training, as Lord Darkon viewed weakness of any kind to be unacceptable. This made Deathstrike very resistant to mental manipulation, Force suggestion, and all forms of telepathic influence, an ability that served her well time and again in Lord Darkon's service, as well as a devastating shadow assassin and close-combat warrior. Deathstrike was the agent which secured the advanced Fury artefacts for the RTSE, giving it a needed technological advantage which proved decisive in the massive battle of the Akates System. Her successes impressed her Master enough to grant her command of the Blood Sanctum in that battle, as well as the entire RTSE Prime Fleet. In a position of command, she has proven proficient and insightful, but her impulsiveness and lack of command experience did cost the Prime Fleet a great deal in that battle, when she ordered most of the battlegroups of escorting Munja class fast-attack cruisers to intercept the incoming barrage of tactical missiles from the NEF fleet. While the missiles were stopped, the Munja cruisers were temporarily cut off from the rest of the fleet, and many fell prey to NEF Talon strike cruisers, leaving the Prime Fleet without most of its point-defence assets. Lady Deathstrike used her Battle Meditation ability to give her forces time to regroup, but the losses suffered as a result of her blunder were already heavy. During the battle, Ty294, the Gatekeeper's elite mercenary, managed to surreptitiously board the Blood Sanctum with an assault force, making his move as Deathstrike was preoccupied with her Battle Meditation. However, her experiences as an assassin taught her never to leave herself vulnerable, and her proficiency in using various types of decoys saved her life that day. She managed to turn the tables on the assault force, and they fled the Sanctum, suffering heavy casualties. Her animosity towards Ty294 became a hatred that day, as he chose to flee from their duel when Darkon's dissociated avatar empowered her, an act she perceived as cowardice. In her tenure within Kane's alternate reality, she again demonstrated her quality as an efficient, masochistic and vicious, yet dependable and loyal warrior, standing by her Master's side in an unsettling trans-dimensional adventure fraught with danger. During this sojourn, she even began to develop a grudging respect for Rattler, a Terran Confederation fighter pilot from the other side of the universe, after they fought out of their alternate dimension together, and he proved reasonably useful while providing aerial cover during the climactic battle with Kane, where her bloodlust and killer instincts proved an asset in the very difficult battle, fighting side by side with her master, and her master's mortal enemy. Her insight allowed her to deduce a way to escape the paralell dimension once and for all, while the paralell realities were seemigly merging together, as she stabbed herself with a lightsaber in order to end her existence in that dimension. Lord Darkon followed her example, and together they managed to escape the Uberweapon and return to RTSE space aboard her infiltrator ship, as the rest of the faction leaders were still engulfed in the battle with the mysterious alien-demons which were controling that trans-dimensional reality. As the RTSE began to rebuild its severely depleted forces after the inconclusive war, Lady Deathstrike continued to grow in power and ability alongside her Master, in preparation of the next conflict with the Gatekeeper and his minions. Although, the trans-dimensional aliens remain a largerly unknown element, and it is no longer certain that the Gatekeeper is the true enemy of the RTSE...

Yuriko teamed up with Daredevil to free her lover, Kiro, from her father's servitude, and to gain vengeance against her father for her scarring and the death of her two brothers. She guided Daredevil to Lord Dark Wind's private island in search of Bullseye. When Yuriko slew Lord Dark Wind (just as he was about to kill Daredevil), the devoted Kiro chose suicide to honor his master. Distraught, Yuriko belatedly embraced her father's ideals and sought to track down whoever dishonored him and restore Japan's honor. She adopted a costumed identity, as a samurai warrior. She attempted to rediscover her father's adamantium bonding process. Her trail led to Wolverine, whose skeleton had been bonded with adamantium, which she desired to retrieve for study. Deathstrike sought to kill him to right the wrong what she considered the theft of her father's theories and thus restore her family's honor, ignoring the fact that Wolverine had been forcibly enhanced with adamantium; however, Yuriko and her followers were defeated by Wolverine and Vindicator of Alpha Flight.
