  • High in the cold mountain air, a silver cat snarled. His whole group of cat had been decimated, only 10 remaining. The Tribe had easily beat them with help from those...reeking Clan cats. A small tortoiseshell with lightning streaks down her face came up behind him, "Stripe?" "What?" he sighed. His daughter came behind him, green eyes glinting. Stripes knew this had to be good. His daughter was a prime strategist and she had come up with amazing plans. They hadn't always worked but still. Stripes thought. His daughter wanted him to think hard and guess but he wasn't in the mood.

  • It was a quiet and peaceful night in the small town of Danville. Even though it was late, Phineas and Isabella Flynn were still awake. The happily married couple were cuddling closely in the warmth of their bed. Both of them were simply lying together, eyes half lidded, not talking, just simply enjoying being next to each other. Phineas craned his neck down and gently kissed his wife's forehead. "I'm going to get a glass of water, would you like anything?" He whispered into her ear. "Only for you to hurry back," Isabella replied, leaning in and kissed Phineas's lips.
  • The Burning Deck Bars like this one can be found all through the Corellian Sector. To say it's a rough place would be an understatement; the Burning Deck is a known hangout both of some of the best Corellian smugglers and pilots on Nar Shaddaa, and of some of the most notorious bounty hunters in the galaxy. It is a dark bar lit by a dull red light, with tables and booths scattered about in a seemingly random pattern. The bar itself is against one wall, and is scarred by many blastmarks and burns. In one corner, a three-person band consisting of a Rodian, a Hammerheaded Ithorian, and a Nikto play snappy tunes on exotic-looking instruments.

  • William envied hunters whose wives allowed them to decorate the family home with their trophies. He sometimes even envied hunters who didn't have wives to complain, like Teddy, who'd just sent him a photograph of his latest trophy, hanging in his living room. “Did you get the pictures?” Teddy asked when William called. “They're right here on my screen.” “Nice, huh?” “Not bad. A little sloppy with the cutting.” Teddy only laughed. “Yes, I'm not at your level yet. But I'm working on it. So, have you given any more thought to that hunting trip?” “Some.” “Okay,” he said. “Sure, I just … You said okay?”

Explaining only that he is a gatekeeper, the man explains that Simpson can enter the Elysian Fields. Simpson is appreciative, but disheartened to hear that there is no raccoon hunting there, nor are there any of his other usual pleasures. When he is told that Rip can't enter and will be taken elsewhere ("up the road"), he declines and angrily goes on down the "Eternity Road" rather than enter the gate without his beloved dog. Simpson states, "Any place that's too high-falutin' for Rip is too fancy for me." Later, after stopping to rest, Simpson and Rip are met by a young angel whose job is to find and bring them to Heaven. Simpson tells the angel about his experience at the first gate, commenting "Son, that'd be a helluva place without Rip!" The angel replies "Mr. Simpson, you ain't far wrong - that is Hell! Heaven's up yonder a piece," pointing up Eternity Road. When asked by Simpson why the gatekeeper at the gate to Hades wouldn't let him bring Rip inside with him, the angel explains that the reason Rip was not allowed in was because the dog would have been able to smell the brimstone and alert Simpson that something was wrong. The angel says, "You see, Mr. Simpson -- a man, well, he'll walk right into Hell with both eyes open. But even the Devil can't fool a dog!" The angel also tells Hyder that there will be a raccoon hunt in Heaven that night, "right after the square dance," and assures him that his wife, who will be coming shortly, will not be misled into entering Hell.

  • "The Hunt" is the twenty-third episode, and season finale, of Season Ten of Criminal Minds.
  • The inn was quiet, although at a time like this it was to be expected. It was only six in the evening, and Silenn was a small town. The fire still roared in the center, and nearby sat Drunst. Drunst finished his glass of water, and leant back. The two ambassadors should be here soon, hopefully some use, and then he could go with Abepecian and them to try and track down these Orcs. If he was lucky, some mercenaries or others would help. Two dark shadows moved through the sparsely populated streets of Silenn, both of them holding on tightly to their weapons as two sets of lilac and red eyes went from one side of the street to the other, searching for anything that might be intending to cause ill will. "Jabbress," one of the persons spoke, a drow male, as he drew back his dark hood, "The Inn is not far from here, we need not conceal our presences any longer." The other cloaked person laughed softly at the male's words before pulling the hood back just enough for a face to appear in the darkness. A drow female smiled grimly as the faint light of the stars shone down from above, drawing in a breath of the stale, animalistic scent of Silenn. "I do not think so, Antaonar," she spoke softly before continuing her fast pace, heading for the Inn seen in the distance, "These humans are not known to be hospitable of our kind. Keep your hood on until we can have a private moment with the man that the esteemed Matron Mother Drada sent us to meet." Slowly the male, Antaonar, nodded before pulling up his own hood once more and hurrying after his Lady, keeping behind her a few paces as he continued looking for any kinds of trouble near the two of them. He and his Lady had not traveled for as long as they had to be surprised by some lowly human, be they male or female, but Antaonar knew that there had to be another reason for them coming here. He knew that the esteemed Matron Mother had been quite dismayed by both his Lady and himself lately, a dismay that had continued to grow for the past few decades, but he would not dare try set words upon his Lady's thoughts. She knew the real reason why they were here and not back in Ilythiir to protect the Matron Mother, and if his Lady knew then there was no reason to doubt the words she spoke. As Antaonar continued his inner musings, the two drow reached the entrance to the Inn and quietly slipped inside the door, immediately welcomed by a warm hearth and a somewhat cheery atmosphere. "Jabbress?" he questioned softly, stepping closer to his Lady as the two of them scanned the room. Finally his Lady stopped her search around the room, her eyes locked upon the frame of a man with long, mussed, black hair. Drunst looked up as the two walked in. Slightly put off by their appearance, he hesitated for a moment, unsure whether it'd be polite to stand. In the end, he stood, and gestured towards the seats next to him. Best to play it safe and be as polite as he could for now. The female drow strode right past Drunst, not sparing him even a single glance as she sat down in the nearest chair and leaned back, striking a somewhat imposing form despite being covered in dirty, travel worn clothes. Her companion, Antaonar, opted to stand behind his Lady's chair instead of sitting himself, directing a rather fierce scowl in the direction of the human male still standing. "You are the human male we are supposed to meet with, yes?" the drow female asked curtly, her voice heavily accented, while pulling back her hood just enough for her facial features to be visible in the Inn's dingy light. "Yes, m'lady. May I say, it is an honour to meet you here," said Drunst, sitting down, opposite the Drow. "Are you sure your... companion wouldn't like to sit down?" he asked, slightly put off by their expressions. "Antaonar will decide on his own whether or not your presence is tolerable enough for him to sit," the drow female replied haughtily before brushing a hand over an imaginary crease in her dark cloak. The human in front of her was... of acceptable appearance despite the rather weary and travel worn look he had; if anything he'd make a passable battle slave should he ever decide to visit one of the subterranean cities. The female drow smirked as she looked him over, taking in every feature from his handsome features to the small, elaborate designs on his armor. "I am Ardulae of the esteemed drow House of Noqu'ath. I have been sent here by the Matron Mother Drada to secure my city's alliance with Silenn," the drow female, Ardulae, spoke curtly as she directed her gaze back on Drunst's eyes, "For your own sake I hope that this little quest of yours won't go on for too long. Antaonar and I have other matters to attend to in the nearby future." "Of course, I understand," replied Drunst, deciding he definitely didn't like the woman. He was pretty certain he wouldn't like the man either, but wasn't sure yet. What they meant by For your own sake he had no idea. Surely they wouldn't attack him, as that would be inviting war with not just Silenn, but most of the Kingdom as well. Right? "We plan to wait here a little longer, as the Chief Rider should joining us soon. If you would like any drinks or food, I will be happy to pay. However, if you feel you cannot spare your time," continued Drunst, hoping his sarcasm and annoyance couldn't be heard, "We would understand if you needed to leave." Immediately Antaonar stood straighter, his longsword halfway out of it's sheath before Ardulae stopped her guard by locking his sword arm in a fierce grip. "Antaonar!" "Jabbress! Izin uns'aa ulu sarn'elgg nindol rivvil whol ukt hawressae! (Mistress! Allow me to punish this human for his insolence!)" Antaonar snarled silently in drow, minding his tone as to not disturb the other patrons of the Inn. "Z'lonzic! Vost nindol a h'uena! (Enough! Cease this at once!)" Ardulae replied back heatedly in her mother tongue, her grip tightening around Antaonar's sword arm. "He insulted you, Jabbress! He belittled you by that disgraceful behavior!" "Antaonar!" Ardulae now growled before shooting Drunst a narrowed glare, "No more of this behavior! Alu. Usstan inbal inbalus z'lonzic d'dos whol uss isto. (Go. I have had enough of you for one night.)" Slowly Antaonar nodded before he stepped away from the table, letting his sword slide down in its sheath once more with a quiet click, before he headed back towards the entrance to the Inn. Ardulae then turned her body back to facing Drunst, placing a bored expression on her face, "I do apologize for that abhorrent behavior that my male showed. Please, do forgive him and accept this as a token of good will." Pulling a finely cut gem out of a small pouch, Ardulae offered it to Drunst, letting the small gem rest in the middle of her palm. "No, it's fine. I'm sorry if I inadvertently insulted you in any way," said Drunst, not wanting to provoke anything more, "But keep the gem, I insist." He'd grabbed hold of his sword when Antaonar had grabbed his, but not taken it out the sheath. Narrowing her lilac eyes, Ardulae leaned forward and grabbed Drunst's hand, forcibly placing the finely cut gem in it. "I think that you may have... misinterpreted my reasoning behind giving you this, rivvel," she said calmly, a slightly threatening undertone lying just below the surface of her voice, "I did not give you the gem as a token of peace... I gave it to you in order to seal the contract. As long as you hold that gem in your possession then I, and Antaonar as well, will be in your service. I'd advise you not to lose it," she finished curtly before leaning back in her own chair once more. "Let me get one thing clear now, Master Human," Ardulae said slowly as she let her eyes drift from one place to the other in the small Inn, "Drow are not like those fluttery, disgusting Elves that you probably know the most around here. We take what we want and we strike when it is needed. You wanted an alliance with us, now you need to be prepared for what is to come. My Matron Mother will not take kindly to this little adventure of yours going awry, not when an alliance between Silenn and Ilythiir hangs in the balance, which is why she sent us. Lead with resolve, for we drow will accept nothing else." A harsh look came over Drunst face, and his eyes hardened as he spoke, saying, "I'm no-one's master, gem or no gem. Masters are for slaves. If you take what you want and strike when it's needed, that doesn't sound like you want to help us. Now, ambassador," Drunst spat the word, "Since we're suffering from a slight orc problem and your... what is it? Jabbress? Whatever she is, she sent you two as ambassadors for an alliance of some sort, and we need your help. Clearly she either thought it'd be important, or she wants you gone, but you're here now, so you will help us." He held the gem up to the light, inspecting it, before putting it in a small satchel around his waist. "If that means I keep this gem 'til the orcs are all dead, so be it." "For someone born as into the human race you are quite astute," Ardulae mused wryly as she leaned forward, resting her chin in the palm of her hand as she over at Drunst, "But yes, we still need to address the matter at hand. These Orcs you speak of... what is it that you need done?" "We can track them to the mountains, but there they dis- Oh?" As he was speaking, a young man had walked next to him and tapped him on the shoulder. Drunst turned round to look at him. "Ah! Oliver, what is it?" "Abepecian just wanted to tell you he'd be busy but would come when he could. Said you could set off when you were ready." Drunst nodded, "Good lad. Keep training. Remember - use your feet when blocking to add strenth." Blushing, Oliver hurried away. "What was I saying? Oh, we track them to the mountains but then the tracks just disappear. Same place each time. We wanted help to track them and then to help kill them. We can't spare many soldiers." As Drunst was speaking a set of lilac eyes followed the boy, Oliver, as he disappeared into the crowd once more. Hmm, still little more than a boy, not even blooded yet... he'd make a poor soldier, Ardulae thought wryly once Drunst had finished speaking of the Orcs before turning her attention back to Drunst. "No tracks simply disappear, Captain," Ardulae said as she kept her eyes trained on Drunst's, "Either you missed wherever they have diverted from the path you took, or you are not as competent a tracker as you thought that you were. It is as easy as that." Ardulae's eyes flickered to the door of the Inn for a few moments before her gaze returned to Drunst, "Luckily for you, my set of skills lies within the realm of shadows. I can find anything as long as you give me a direction. Tell me where to begin and I promise that results shall appear within days." "There was a small farm just South of here that was attacked. I can take you there today or tomorrow." "South?" Ardulae repeated before she pushed the chair she was sitting in backwards and rose, "Then I will be departing immediately. Precious time is being spent right now, rivvel, time that we cannot lose if you wish to have this done quickly." And with those words Ardulae turned around without as much as a farewell and headed for the door, leaving a stupefied Drunst behind. Outside the street was quiet, most shops and stalls just closing for the night. A young man was having an argument with a stall holder and one person almost bumped into Ardulae as he scribbled something on a piece of paper, realizing and apologizing just in time as he hurried off. A few moments later, Drunst left the inn. Catching up with her, he asked, "Where's your-the soldier?" "Right here, rivvel," a venomous voice spat behind the captain of Silenn before appearing from the shadows of a nearby closed stand, "Jabbress, what are we to do now?" Ardulae looked on in amusement for a few moments as she watched Antaonar shoot Drunst poisonous glances before she changed her expression to a more serious one, "I will be departing at once to scout ahead. You will be staying here with our dear captain and help getting ready for this little expedition. Captain, when you are finished we will meet at the foot of the mountains you spoke of earlier, is that acceptable?" "Alright. To the East there's an oddly shaped overhang. It's quite easy to spot - looks like a star. I'll meet you there in an hour or two with as many guards as we can spare," said Drunst, wincing inside at having to stay with Antaonar. Ardulae nodded curtly at Drunst's information and then turned to grab her guard's arm, dragging Antaonar a few paces away from eavesdropping ears. "Jabbress?" he questioned softly, his face softening as he watched his Lady smile softly up at him. "Antaonar, ussta che (my love), please do not get into trouble with this human while I am away. I do not want to come back to a city bent on executing the both of us," Ardulae said softly as she placed her gloved hands on Antaonar's cheeks, a soft look overtaking her eyes as she looked up at her lover in the closest thing to adoration that a drow could come. "That human..." Antaonar began slowly, "He... he irks me in a way that not even the darthiir are able to. He is so... so ignorant!" "He is human, Antaonar. Their race has been ignorant since the dawn of their creation," Ardulae said and pulled Antaonar down to press her forehead against his, "But I need you to be in control this time, I need this to work so the balance will be restored back home in Ilythiir." "I... I understand, Jabbress," Antaonar said softly and stepped away from his Lady, a cocky smirk now adorning his dark lips, "I shall do as you command, Jabbress, and I promise that I shall not fail you!" "Good, jaluk," Ardulae replied before she turned around, heading out through the town and into the wilderness. As he watched his Lady disappear into the shadows of Silenn, Antaonar walked back to where Ardulae and he had left the Captain to stand. "It seems that we will have to work together for now... partner," Antaonar said slowly, spitting the last word as if it was something vile and disgusting, "I do hope that you are ready to begin the mission, yes?" Drunst took a deep breath, nodding, "Almost. Just need to get a few things ready. There's nothing you need, is there?" "No," Antaonar said curtly as he crossed his arms, looking up at the darkening sky as small droplets began falling, "Nothing at all..." "Alright," said Drunst, setting off for the Guard House. Antaonar followed closely behind Drunst as the two of them walked through Silenn, his eyes dashing from one place to the next for any possible signs of danger. The buildings of Silenn looked so... vulnerable in Antaonar's eyes, most of them completely made out of wood with a few stone-houses dotting the streets that Drunst and he took. For someone who was completely used to houses made out of the magically enhanced stone of the subterranean Arda, all of this was quite underwhelming for the drow, making his eyebrows scuffle together as weakness after weakness sprung up inside his mind. That the villagers on the surface had survived for as long as they had was frankly put, in Antaonar's mind, a minor miracle. A few minutes later, Drunst arrived at the Guard House. After fumbling with the key for a moment, he opened the door and went straight to a chest. Rummaging through it, he took out a horn and a hooded cloak before moving to a weapons rack and grabbing a bow and some arrows. Turning to Antaonar, he said, "Alright, I think we're ready to go now. Sorry about that, but just wanted to be prepared." Antaonar nodded without a single word, noiselessly turning around and walking out of the door as he tucked his hood closer in an attempt to refrain from being completely soaked by the drizzling rain. Running through the surprisingly even terrain, Ardulae kept close to the ground and used many of the natural outcroppings of rock and bushes to keep out of sight from any possible enemies out in the dark. She was far too close to the lands of Rivendell, far too close for comfort, and she desperately tried running even faster. What she didn't need right now would be a clashing with a few sentries from Rivendell, something that she didn't have the resources, nor time, to spend if she wanted to get to the ruined farm as soon as possible. In the distance she could already see what looked to be the burnt remains of a hut, and as she drew closer to her destination Ardulae began to spot several animal-corpses lying scattered around the compounds. Crudely made arrows, clearly of Orcish origin, sat in the surviving pillars and supporting beams, and whatever wood that hadn't perished in the raid was splattered with blood, human without a doubt. "Such crude creatures," Ardulae snorted as she assessed the area, kneeling down in the mud to get a look on the surrounding ground, "No wonder we stopped worshiping Morgoth and his vile creations..." The rain that pelted down from above made it harder for Ardulae to see anything, even with her enhanced vision during night time, and the drow assassin quickly headed into the cover of a few trees standing in the middle of what once had been a courtyard. "There's nothing left here," Ardulae muttered to herself as she leaned against the still-dry trunk of the tree, letting her eyes scan the ground around here in a last attempt to see if anything was to be salvaged from the sight. Then, when a beam of moonlight broke through the thick blanket of clouds that covered the night sky, Ardulae's lilac eyes fell upon a small, shimmering object lying half-buried in the mud. Her eyes narrowed as she bent down to pick it up, quickly wiping the mud and dry dirt off the small object to reveal a symbol that had the drow assassin nearly drop what was a small brooch to the ground. On the brooch was engraved a symbol that Ardulae knew all too well... the symbol of Ilythiir's Ruling House, House Noqu'ath... After around a quarter of an hour of walking in moody silence, Drunst held up his hand. "Stop," he said, simply, before pointing to a tree. Just visible through the rain was the outline of a human or elf there, flattened against the tree. The rain was slowly beginning to thin out, the constant moist instead being replaced by a coldness that crept all over the area. "Jabbress!" Antaonar breathed as he recognized the drow female leaning against the tree, hurrying to Ardulae's side at once. Ardulae's hood was down, revealing a long curtain of fine silvery white hair that stuck to her scalp due to the rain and a furious expression on her face. "You're here early," Ardulae said from her place beneath the tree as she looked at the two men, "But I suppose that is better than not showing up at all." The drow rolled her shoulders backwards before moving with Antaonar back to Drunst, "There was nothing unusual at the farm," she said, easing a lie into her words without as much as a flinch, "All left back there are dead animals and a burnt down cottage. Whoever arranged this made sure that the Orcs would leave nothing behind." "I didn't think there would be," said Drunst, taking his hood down once he was under the rock, "but it's good to be certain. The tracks will be washed away by know, but I can show you where they lead before." Ardulae nodded, slipping a hand down in a pocket where the brooch lay and clenching the object tightly. Mother, are you behind this? she mused mentally as she shot Antaonar a neutral look, Does Antaonar know about this? Drunst set off, heading up the mountain, eventually stopping after reaching a large river, the current rushing through the rocks and mud. "The tracks just stop here. Even if they did manage to cross the river, there are no tracks on the other side." "Antaonar, find a way to cross that river," Ardulae said softly as she knelt in the still-slippery mud, her gloved fingertips lightly tracing the ground as crimson eyes flickered from one place to another, while Antaonar gave a sharp nod and disappeared into the shadows that surrounded the trio, "Find us when it is done." "I believe that your Orcs have not simply vanished into thin air, dear Captain," Ardulae spoke with a grim smile as she looked across the river, "They have simply gone with the water, and if not that then they must have found a way to traverse this infernal creation of nature," she scowled as she eyed the raging waters in front of her with poisonous eyes. "They'd be washed away. At least some would have been drowned and washed up on the shores of lake Hendr, but we've found none," replied Drunst, before continuing, "Even if they had crossed, there would surely be some sign of them on the other side. There's a small waterfall - 10 or 15 meters high - downriver from here with no sign there." "I see," Ardulae replied calmly as she rose from the muddy ground, "Do you know of any caves nearby? My guess would be that there's something close to the waterfall." "I'm not sure," muttered Drunst, shaking his head, "Nothing I know of, but it's definitely possible. It might be best if we head back first though. Wolves and other beasts are more likely to come out at night. Besides, it can be easy to get lost in the dark and if you fall in the river..." Barely holding back a very unladylike snort, Ardulae glanced up at her companion, her vision obscured slightly by the thick strands of still damp silver hair that clung to her scalp. "Do you even know the first thing about drow, dear Captain?" she questioned, obviously amused as she patiently waited for an answer. Drunst blushed from embarrassment, before shrugging, muttering, "Well, you live in caves, and, well, you can see in the dark. Still. I could fall, and then you might get lost." "The first two things you spoke of are correct, somewhat, at least," Ardulae said as a smug grin spread on her face, "Not all of us live in caves if you must know; the city that I come from actually lies above the surface, though not many know it." The drow then turned to face Drunst, "I will not let any of us fall, to do so would be disgraceful. I will lead, you will direct. Should it happen that you fall to the ground then I will wait." "Very well. Follow me," said Drunst, putting his hood back up and setting off. Nodding sharply Ardulae silently followed the human Captain, slipping into the comforts of the darkness surrounding them. After thirteen minutes, they arrived at the waterfall, and raging torrent. There was a path down, with an old and moldy fence next to it. Drunst began to head down. Ardulae slipped in front of Drunst, her white hair clearly visible despite the two companions' nearly pitch black surroundings, and practically glided over the somewhat slippy terrain as she scouted on ahead. For a moment Drunst almost slipped, but he regained his balance in time. After a short time, they were at the bottom of the waterfall, with the water raging around them. "I don't know where a cave would be. if I'm honest. Possibly behind the waterfall, but then the orcs would have to get down somehow." Ardulae smirked as she began walking towards the banks of the river in front of the waterfall, ignoring Drunst's questioning looks she was receiving, before she waded out into the water, walking along the edge of the stony and muddy shore. The water was absolutely freezing, the searing sensation cutting straight through her heavily padded leather armor and making the leather stick uncomfortably against her skin. "This way, dear Captain!" Ardulae called as she continued waddling through the icy water and disappeared into the masses of water as she passed through the waterfall. Ardulae was right about the cave. As she passed through the waterfall, she saw the huddled figure of a woman there. As Ardulae entered she scrambled to her feet and grabbed a dagger from her waist. Waving it uncertainly in Ardulae's direction, she tried to shout but it came out as a whimper. "Wh-who are you? W-what do you want with me?" Ardulae stopped immediately, her eyes narrowing as the water trickled down her thoroughly soaked body, and instead moved towards the side of the cave that had appeared behind the waterfall. She said nothing to the shivering woman in front of her, instead following the walls of the hidden cave until she reached dry land. Heaving herself up from the icy water, Ardulae leant against the wall as she never took her eyes off the shivering woman far away from her, waiting for Drunst to come through the water as well. Drunst came through a few moments later, having taken off his hood and cloak. Spluttering, he saw the woman and grabbed a hold of his sword. As Ardulae came closer and climbed up, the woman pressed herself against the wall, clearly terrified for her life. "Who are you?" she repeated, her eyes darting from Drunst to the Drow in fear. "We're friends," called Drunst, over the noise of the waterfall. Ardulae snorted, "You might be. Do not rope me in with your weak females, rivvel." At those words Ardulae sat down on the rocky ground, melting into the darkness of the cave. The woman shuddered as Ardulae spoke, and looked to Drunst as though a plea for help. "Ambassador, this seems to be a matter for the law. Therefore, let me deal with it," snapped Drunst, before returning his gaze to the woman. She was wearing ragged and ripped clothes which seemed a little too big for her and her arms were thin sticks. "Can you put down your dagger?" asked Drunst, letting go of his sword and moving slowly towards her. Sinking to the floor, she dropped it next to her and looked up at Drunst through her dirty blonde hair. Ardulae's eyes burned with anger as she glared at Drunst's turned back, years of training automatically spotting several weaknesses where his armor didn't quite cover enough of his vulnerable neck, while her nature immediately demanded for the human male in front of her to learn his place, beneath her boot, until Ardulae mowed down the struggling feelings within her. "How dare you?!" she hissed softly in the darkness, her voice too quiet for Drunst's human ears to pick up the, "You imbecile!" She couldn't put this alliance at risk, not when it was barely strung together as of the recent events, and most certainly not when it seemed as if her own House was involved in this. The woman in front of them could tell them things, things that Drunst wouldn't have been able to find back at the farm, things... things that they needed so those troublesome Orcs could be silenced once and for all. Unaware of what Ardulae was whispering, Drunst knelt down beside the woman and asked, "What's wrong?" "H-him. He wants to kill m-me." "Who is he? Do you know where he is?" The woman looked down sadly and shook her head, muttering something about being drunk. "I can help, I promise." "M-my betrothed. My p-parents wanted me to marry h-him. H-h-he was rich and-nd..." Her voice trailed off before Drunst gave her an encouraging smile, telling her to keep going. "H-he... He wasn't good, h-he..." "You don't have to tell me. I understand," said Drunst, quietly and sadly. "I l-left him. Th-there was another man, a nice man," she smiled through her hair, despite the tears running down her face. Ardulae snorted, audibly, but ignored the seething glare that Drunst sent her way as she rose from the ground and once more stepped into the faint light that came in through the water. "I will be outside the cave, it absolutely reeks in here," she said coldly, sending the blonde woman a scalding look as she turned her back at the two humans and waddled out in the icy water once more before disappearing behind the curtain of water. Drunst gulped. He knew, or at least suspected, what had happened to the other man. Orcs had most likely killed him in one of the recent attacks. Wiping her eyes with her sleeve, she continued, "One night, Eryk, the f-first man, h-he got d-drunk an-an' he attacked h-him. K-k-killed h-him. S-said I-I-I w-was n-next," Staring with blank eyes at the waterfall, she said, "I ran. Ran back to the farm. He'd got there and killed them. And burnt the place down. So I hid." Drunst ran his hand through his hair, sighing. The farm. The first farm to be attacked. She thought it was him. Oh Gods, how do I explain this? "I don't know how to say this. Your farm wasn't attacked by your- tha- the man. Orcs have been attacking settlements, and that farm was the first. I promise you, I'll protect you. I can get you to Silenn. Oh, make sure not to annoy the Drow - the woman and her bodyguard. They've got some strange rules. Easily insulted. Haven't decided if I like them yet." The only reaction the woman gave was a sharp intake of breath, before she nodded shyly and headed to leave the cave, followed by Drunst after a few moments. Ever since his Lady had asked him to scout ahead, looking for some way to cross the river, Antaonar had been fairly sure that someone, or something, was watching his every move. He'd grown used to the feeling over the years as he had spent more time inside Ilythiir and the city's dreadful politics than out in the field with the rest of his men, but this time it was... different somehow. Eyes were watching him from every angle, shifting when he did, stopping when he did, yet Antaonar continued moving along the edge of the raging waters, his eyes flickering from one spot to the next as he tried finding somewhere they could cross. He continued moving along the banks of the river for almost half an hour, the prickling feeling of being watched never disappearing, before he stopped, having arrived in front of a large waterfall. He saw the shape of a human wearing heavy armor, armor he recognized as belonging to the human male he and his Lady had accompanied the entire night. The male, Drunst, his mind whispered to him, was taking off his cloak and hood while walking towards the waterfall. The same second that the human had disappeared behind the raging waters, Antaonar crept towards the waterfall and knelt by the banks, straining his eyes to see if he could spot anything move behind the curtain of water blocking his path. Antaonar didn't have to wait long before a much smaller, more delicate, form appeared from behind the waterfall: his Lady Ardulae. "Jabbress!" Antaonar spoke as he immediately straightened his posture, practically ripping off his own cloak to bring around his soaked Mistress when she reached the banks of the river. "Antaonar," she spoke curtly, her hands clenched tightly and her teeth bared, "Report your findings," she snapped as she practically ripped the cloak from her manservant's hands and wrapped it around her much smaller frame. "There were no signs along the river that suggested someone able to cross it, Jabbress," Antaonar spoke carefully, more than aware of the furious mood his Lady was in at the moment, "The Orcs have not crossed." Ardulae swore, loudly, at Antaonar's words before she rubbed the tips of her fingers against her forehead in annoyance. "We will find nothing here tonight," she growled as she turned her head back towards the waterfall, "I hope that damn male hasn't decided to rest is such a place as this." Both Ardulae and Antaonar looked up when the two humans exited the cave hidden behind the waterfall, their eyes glowing softly in the darkness around them as the moonlight lit up the area around them, before narrowing their eyes as they watched the shivering, thin woman clutch at Drunst's arm desperately while avoiding their piercing stares. "She will be coming with us then?" Ardulae spoke harshly as she eyed the human woman with barely concealed annoyance, before continuing on despite Drunst's lack of an answer, "And just how will we get this woman to safety then? What if a pack of Orcs, something else perhaps, attacks us? Neither Antaonar nor I have the abilities and time to waste on weak rivvil like her." "We should be safe just heading back to the town. If we are attacked, then at least that saves us the bother of finding the orcs. She shouldn't be too much trouble, anyway." The woman looked nervously at the two discussing, standing there awkwardly. "No trouble?" Ardulae spat as she rose from her spot on the ground beside Antaonar, narrowing her glowing eyes as anger flared up in her mind, "No trouble?!" "Jabbress, you shou—!" "Do you have any idea about what you will lead straight to us?!" Ardulae snapped as she stalked over to Drunst, ignoring how the shivering woman pulled back behind the Captain, "That female reeks of fear, it wouldn't surprise me if every Orc pack in this area should know our position by now!" Drunst's face locked, and he stared at Ardulae, not shouting, but stating, "Listen to me. She is going to go to Silenn, with me, right now. If she does attract those orcs, then at least she'll find them quicker than if we have to track them down. I don't know what you thought we were going to do when we found the orcs, but we'd have to fight them anyway." He turned to the woman, saying quietly, "Don't worry. I'll get you back safely." "You know nothing!" Ardulae snarled as she reached out and grabbed Drunst's front, dragging his face down to hers in a surprisingly strong grip, "You might take your precious little female back to safety, you might think that doing this one good deed will give your surface village the courage to sleep soundly for another night, but not ever assume that meeting the danger head on is much different up here from down below," she growled, eyes burning in the darkness as she stared straight at Drunst, "The words "Danger strikes when you least expect it to" are ingrained into the mind of every drow child, no matter the gender, and I would assume that you surfacers have something at least resembling those words." Silence ensued as the two sides regarded each other, Antaonar keeping a tight grip on his sword's handle the entire time as his eyes never left the drow and man standing a few feet away from him. "You may think that this is just a result of the Dark One's fall less than a year ago," Ardulae then continued as her grip on Drunst's front tightened, "But that is where you are wrong! Orcs does not organize like this, they do not think far enough ahead to know when the best time to raid is due. Someone is controlling them, someone intelligent, and that someone is humanoid!" "And if you think that I will let this woman, this innocent woman, die out here, alone and scared, then you are wrong too! I am not like that, and I don't care what you say. I don't care if in some cave miles away the weak would be left to fend for themselves, because right here, and right now, they're not. Those who can help others help those who can't help themselves. If she puts me in danger, so be it. You can do what you want," spat Drunst, "But if you ask me to leave someone behind, I need you to know that I would never leave someone in danger." He stood still, staring at Ardulae with disgust in his eyes. "She will be your responsibility, rivvil!" Ardulae spat as she abruptly let go of Drunst's front and twirled around on the spot, angrily marching back to her place beside Antaonar, "We leave immediately!" "Good," said Drunst shortly. They managed to return to Silenn without any trouble, for whatever reason. The walk had taken them about a quarter of an hour. The very moment that the group stepped inside Silenn's gates, both Antaonar and Ardulae disappeared into the shadows without as much as a word, leaving Drunst and the woman standing alone in the dark. The two drow snuck their way back to the Inn they had met Drunst in, meeting a rather bleary-eyed owner standing behind his desk. "One room," Ardulae grunted as she threw down a gold piece in front of the owner, her eyes glowing dangerously below the shadow of her loaned cloak, "Have a bath brought up immediately." "R-right, milady," the owner nodded shakily as he handed Ardulae a crudely made, brass key before he turned around and yelled for a maid to bring up a tub and warm water, "It will be on the top floor, first room to your right." "Antaonar," Ardulae simply spat before she turned around with a disgruntled expression on her face and headed for the stairs. Drunst looked at the woman sadly, realizing he didn't even know her name. "Come on, I'll get you a room in the Mended Lute. You can stay there until we find a more permanent place for you to stay." Drunst headed there, arriving a short time after the two drow. Drunst was up early the next day, rising before dawn to a quick breakfast of boiled egg. He hadn't spoken to either of the drow since their parting last night, but hoped he would see them in the inn. As the Captain continued his breakfast a lanky boy ran up to him with a small note in his hand and planted it in front of Drunst. "The Spider's Child sends her greetings and gives this to you, Captain of Man," the boy said before darting off once more. Wondering what Ardulae want to say to him - knowing that only she would use that strange wording - Drunst opened the note, reading... Raising his eyebrows, Drunst folded the paper and shoved it in his pocket. She hadn't said where to meet, so he assumed it would be in the inn again. Finishing the egg, he fished the paper out of his pocket again, flattening it out and grabbing a quill. After calling for some ink, he began to scribble some notes on the paper. Running his hands through his hair once again, Drunst looked over his scribblings. As Drunst continued his his musings over the written notes, Ardulae watched the boy she had given the note run out of the door while clutching a small fist around the coins he had been paid. She then turned to look as Antaonar mounted his loaned horse and approached the male drow. "Jabbress?" he questioned when she silently reached for a small pocket on the inside of her cloak and drew out a sealed envelope. "You will deliver this to the scout placed north of Ilythiiir, Antaonar," Ardulae spoke curtly as she looked up at her guard from below her dark hood, "No one else must read what I have written inside it, not even you." "You do not trust me," Antaonar nodded and refrained from grimacing, even if he knew that his Lady no doubt had seen his face twitch slightly. "I do, Antaonar... in many ways I trust you, mostly so as a brother-in-arms, but this... this bears ill tidings for Ilythiir if my thoughts are made into reality," Ardulae spoke softly before she rested a hand on his thigh, "Do not let any female near that letter. Give it to the scout. He is one of ours." "Of course, Jabbress," Antaonar nodded before he lashed the reins and dashed through the streets of Silenn as the sun made its descent up into the sky.
  • The Hunt is the ninth episode of the tenth season of Baywatch Hawaii.
  • Log Title: The Hunt Characters: Major Bludd, Eli Vanderpool, Lifeline Location: Rotterdam, The Netherlands Date: July 19, 2007 Summary: With the help of another Cobra operative, Major Bludd is able to continue to follow his target in Rotterdam. WARNING: The following log contains a scene of particular violence. Lifeline is, at the moment, undergoing a minor surgical procedure to tend to some residual infection from his stab wounds. A minor thing, but necessary so he will heal properly and not re-infect. Down the hallway from the operating room, a number of orderlies are preparing to transport the most controversial patient in St. Franciscus Hospital in Rotterdam. A number of armed guards stand outside the door as doctors enter to transfer Eli Vanderpool from his recovery bed to a wheelchair. Outside of the hospital, there's a flurry of activity. Numerous black SUV's with tinted windows are parked in a caravan outside the front doors of the hospital. Also present are numerous agents and Interpol personnel. Major Bludd sits behind the wheel of a green sedan which is parked in the car park near the exit to the main highway. He's donned a pair of wraparound sunglasses and is watching the front doors with his mirrors. The hospital entrance is quiet for a while. Then, there's a sudden flurry of activity as several Interpol agents begin filing out and taking up protective positions around the doors. A number of other people come out in a hurry, and begin entering the black SUV's. Major Bludd starts the car and continues to wait, still eyeing the entrance. Meanwhile, inside the hospital, coming up the freight elevator from the basement to the first floor, MI-5 Agent Grace Riggall is smiling proudly. Her first major bust! What an accomplishment. And this time she *isn't* dressed like a nurse. She glances down at her elevator companion. Eli Vanderpool seems remarkably calm and quiet, given the situation. Perhaps he's just resigned himself to his fate. He eyes her briefly, but says nothing. The elevator dings, and Riggall begins pushing Vanderpool out, down the main hallway toward the exit doors. Bludd puts in a cellphone call to his recently-acquired accomplices, hired this morning in a shadier part of town. "It's going," he says. "Get ready." Some of the SUV's depart, rolling away down Rotterdam's main thoroughfares. It's impossible to see who's inside of them, due to extremely dark window tinting. In amidst the hullaballoo of vehicles coming and going, an ambulance pulls up, lights flashing but no siren. The back doors open, but no patient or paramedics exit the vehicle. It simply sits. "This is Riggall, the prisoner is ready for transport," Grace announces into her radio. Vanderpool shivers, looking annoyed and uncomfortable. "The least you bastards could do is give me a blanket, I'm ill," he snarks. "I'll get that for you, sir," says a nearby nurse, mincing over to the wheelchair, leaning over, and draping a large comforter over Vanderpool. Riggall rolls her eyes, and shakes her head at the display of comfort. In her mind, this man has earned no comfort whatsoever. "Hurry up," she says impatiently. The nurse smiles sweetly, then quickly disappears down the hall. Vanderpool smiles slightly, curling up in his newly-acquired comforter. Major Bludd smiles as he sees the ambulance pull up. "Thank you, my little Wizardess," he murmurs, keeping his eyes on the emergency vehicle. Riggall resumes pushing the occupied wheelchair down the corridor. Vanderpool smiles at nothing in particular. From outside, one can see them emerge, and Grace Riggall wastes no time in hot-footing it over to the ambulance with her blanketed 'patient'. Had Bludd been distracted by the decoys, he very likely would have missed this taking place. In the rear of the ambulance, the ramp is already down for a quick load-up and getaway. "Remember, our target is the ambulance," Bludd says into his phone. "Just follow it, keep it in sight, until I tell you otherwise. Understand?" "Yeah, got it," a deep voice says over the line. "Quit worryin'. We'll do what we're bein' *paid* ta do." After Vanderpool is very rapidly loaded into the ambulance, the doors shut, and a couple more decoy SUV's depart before the ambulance finally rolls away from the curb. It turns onto the main thoroughfare, and from there, proceeds to the freeway. Major Bludd puts the car into reverse and backs out of the lot, calling to his accomplices as he does so. "It's moving," he says, slamming the car into drive and rolling out onto the road. "Headed for the freeway, like I figured. Get on it." "Aye, aye, cap'n," quips the deep voice over the phone. "Go," it says, presumably to the driver. The ambulance is travelling the average speed, so as not to draw undue attention by moving too fast or too slow. Eventually, the ambulance slows, and exits at what appears to be a private airfield. There's a guard gate beside the entrance to the airfield...presumably, the guard has to check credentials before he'll allow access. The ambulance stops at this checkpost. Bludd pulls off to the side of the road just before he reaches the airfield's driveway and puts his emergency flashers on. He directs the other car to his location, peering toward the checkpoint. While he awaits his accomplices, he scratches his beard, pondering his next move. The ambulance heads into the airfield, on the move toward a small, private jet. MI5 has spared no expense for getting this prisoner back to Britain. Fortunately for Bludd and his companions, the fueling up, boarding, and safety checks for the flight will take some time. In the meantime, the checkpoint guard sits there reading a magazine. This probably isn't the busiest airfield. All the better for government agencies to conduct their secret business. Bludd draws his sidearm and pops open the glovebox, withdrawing a suppressor and fitting it to the handgun. He lays the gun in his lap and grabs a map from the passenger's seat, dropping it over the weapon. As he spies the other car approaching from the highway, he switches off the flashers and pulls into the airstrip's driveway. "Wait by the side of the road," he instructs the others, "just like I did. I'll let you know when I'm ready for you." Meanwhile, back on the private jet, Vanderpool is wheeled up a handicapped ramp to accomodate him onto the plane. While this is going on, the plane is also getting fueled up for the flight back to Heathrow. "You've been quite cooperative thus far," Riggall tells Vanderpool. "Keep it up, and we'll allow you to remain uncuffed for the flight's duration. We'd really rather not have to cuff you, Mr. Vanderpool..." Vanderpool looks at Riggall evenly, and smirks slightly. Then, he adjusts his blanket, sighs, and gazes out the nearby window. The green sedan approaches the security checkpoint slowly, almost hesitantly. Out on the highway, the second car pulls off to the side just before the airstrip's driveway and puts its emergency flashers on. At the checkpoint, the guard puts down his magazine, and tilts his head toward the booth's window. "Spreekt u Nederlands?" he inquires. "Or English?" he adds. Bludd puts on a sheepish grin and looks up at the guard. "English," he says with a bit of a cringe. "Ah! Not a problem, sir," the guard says reassuringly in heavily accented English. "How may I help you this evening?" Bludd rubs the back of his neck. "Uh, look, I'm sorry," he says in an American accent, "but I got turned around on the road there," he jerks a thumb over his shoulder, "and I've no idea where I'm at." He grins a helpless grin at the guard. "I'm afraid I'm no good at reading maps." "Oh! Okay, well you see, this is a private airfield," the guard explains helpfully, pointing toward the map (and the hidden gun). "If you wish to return to the freeway, you must go back in this direction." The Netherlands is actually one of the friendlier countries to become lost in, it seems. Bludd frowns in confusion, lifting map and gun toward the guard. "Which way?" he asks, turning his head as if he's looking back at the road. The wraparound sunglasses hide the fact that he can't see much looking over his left shoulder due to his missing eye. "Back down this road, you simply follow it to the west until it joins with the freeway," answers the guard. He's no longer looking toward the map -- he's pointing back toward the road. Bludd grins broadly, pulls the map aside just far enough so he can shove the suppressed pistol's muzzle up against the guard's jaw and fire. * POP* Not at all a loud sound...it could have been made from a car rolling over an empty drink cup. In an instant, the guard falls over, extremely dead due to missing the contents of his skull -- which are now located in a brainy, gooey pile a few feet away. Other than the pile of brains, this particular kill is really very tidy. Amazingly, there's not a spot of blood on the guard's uniform. "Come on in, boys, I've opened the door for ya," Bludd calls over the cell to his accomplices. He drops the gun back into his lap, lays the map on top of it, and drives on past the checkpoint. The second car turns into the driveway and rolls toward the now-abandoned checkpoint. When Bludd and his accomplices head in, the road curves around until it reaches the airfield. It's pretty deserted, save for the MI5 jet, which seems to be undergoing a final external safety check. Major Bludd rounds the curve and hits the accelerator when he sees the jet. "It's time for ya ta earn yer money, lads," he calls. "You see any security, you keep 'em busy." He drives toward the jet's entry ramp. A couple of agents are near the ramp, getting ready to fold it up and get going, when they see the sedan approaching. "Halt, who goes there? Identify yourself!" calls the first one. Both agents draw their handguns. Major Bludd aims his vehicle at the pair of agents, slamming on the brakes and turning the wheel hard to send the sedan sliding toward them. As it comes to a stop, he grabs his handgun and leaps out the door, rolling to the ground. The second vehicle comes roaring around the curve, a man leaning out the passenger side window and firing at the agents with a handgun. The air is rife with the sharp cracks of gunfire and returning volleys. One agent falls to the ground, mortally wounded. The other takes cover under part of the ramp, reaching around to snap off a few shots at the second vehicle. In the meantime, up in the plane's cabin, Riggall looks out the window. "Cor, what's going on out there...? It's a bloody war zone!" As her attention is focused out the window, Riggall doesn't notice when Eli Vanderpool slowly reaches beneath his comfortable blanket, and wields the *other* gift bestowed upon him by his hospital friend...a Glock 30. He points it at the back of her head. "Indeed it is," says Vanderpool casually. The gun fires, and Riggall's lifeless body slumps to the floor. Vanderpool smirks, and calmly begins wheeling himself toward the back of the cabin. Major Bludd sprints up the loading ramp and into the jet. The second vehicle zooms past the green sedan and turns around sharply, its passenger still taking shots at the agent under the ramp. The passenger cabin is mostly deserted. The pilot and co-pilot have come out of the cockpit to see what all the fuss was about, and now they're preoccupied with leaning over the dead body of Riggall, looking frightened and confused. Eli Vanderpool is not immediately visible. Bludd dashes into the cabin, whipping off his shades and looking around the cabin. "Where is he?" he shouts. "Where is Eli Vanderpool?" The pilot and co-pilot stare over in fright at the gun-wielding man. Was this Riggall's murderer?? "W-we don't know!" The pilot stammers. "He was brought into the cabin, we heard shots fired, came out of the cockpit, and this is how things were!" Suddenly, the PA system crackles to life. "Are you looking for me, you one-eyed bastard?" asks a nasty, Dutch-accented voice. Bludd glares at the pilot, then stalks off toward the rear of the cabin. If the pilot hasn't seen Vanderpool, he must be at the back of the plane... He removes the suppressor from his Beretta and sticks it in his jacket pocket. He sneers as he hears Vanderpool's voice over the PA. "I should have figured the twins would send a flunky like you to come collect," Vanderpool chuckles. "Well, then, let's see what you've got. Bring it." The PA system shuts off with a click, and from the rear exit/lavatory area, there's the unmistakable sound of a gun's hammer being cocked. *CH-CHAK* (Who *is* this guy?) Bludd thinks, dropping into a crouch instinctively. He creeps toward the rear of the plane, keeping near the right side seats in case he needs to duck behind them for cover. It's extremely quiet in the rear part of the cabin. Bludd's able to get closer and closer to the back...and if he gets close enough to the back exit, he may actually see the side of a wheel. There's definitely a *wheelchair* back there. And probably one riled-up crippled Dutchman sitting in it, waiting for Bludd to make a move. Major Bludd drops to his belly and low-crawls the last few metres, withdrawing the suppressor from his jacket pocket with his left hand. When he spies the wheelchair, he gathers his knees underneath him, hurls the suppressor at where he hopes Vanderpool's head is, and launches himself at the chair, hoping to knock it and its passenger over. This sudden surprise tactic works remarkably well. Vanderpool's weakness is his shattered knees -- he just can't make it anywhere without the aid of the wheelchair. That said, however, he still has a strong command of his upper body, as well as the Glock. He fires off a shot dangerously close to Bludd's head, and it lodges into the wall as he lands on the floor with a soft thud. With an insane fury only seen in Klaus Kinski movies, he grapples with Bludd, and tries to get his gun trained at his head. Bludd grabs at Vanderpool's gun hand, trying to keep it pointed *away* from his head. Meanwhile, he attempts to kneel atop the other man's chest, using his body weight to further hinder his movements. There's not much Vanderpool can do with his legs, he figures, but everybody needs to breathe. Vanderpool's eyes get round like saucers as Bludd applies pressure to his chest, and he gasps disturbingly. "Nnghh..." Apparently, this is a very good way to kill a cardiac patient, because it's causing him quite a bit of distress. "You send me to hell, I take you with me," he promises. Bludd grabs the Glock in Vanderpool's hand, grinning down at him as he lowers his own weapon toward the other man. "Oh yeah?" he asks, sneering. "How you gonna do that?" "...." This gets a surprised look from Vanderpool, who apparently didn't figure in getting his gun taken from him into the plan. After a momentary surprise, he makes a furious lunge for the Glock. Major Bludd tosses the Glock down the aisle, where it spins and settles under one of the seats. He presses the nose of his Beretta against Vanderpool's throat, just beneath the jawline. "You know," he says, "if you tell me where you hid all the Twins' dough, I might think twice about capping you right here and now." "You're full of shit," Vanderpool sneers, glaring crazily at Bludd. "Whether I tell you or not, you are still going to kill me. But I will tell you this much...I didn't 'hide' *any* of the money. Money is not for hiding...it's for spending." "Aww," Bludd croons, shifting his weight on top of Vanderpool ever-so-slightly, "what'd ya buy? A trip to Disneyland?" "Bought you a new eye," Vanderpool snaps back, making a pained face as his chest is compressed even more. Bludd laughs, shakes his head at the man beneath him. "You got a sense o' humour," he says. "Wasn't expectin' that." He peers curiously at Vanderpool. "Do I ... *know* you from someplace?" Vanderpool does look...vaguely familiar, from some place. "Perhaps we met when I was still under the employ of Extensive Enterprises," he muses, his breathing labored. "You called me a 'one-eyed bastard', yet you'd never seen me ..." Bludd frowns. "Who are you, *really*?" "Sure I did, when you got on the plane," Vanderpool points out. "I looked down the aisle, and there you were." He smiles slightly. "Who I am really is a secret that will die with me." "Mebbe I'll keep ya alive for a while," Bludd drawls. "Mebbe I'll just ... *play* with ya awhile." As if for emphasis, he shifts his weight again. Vanderpool begins to get agitated, and his face reddens as he tries to push Bludd off of him. Unfortunately, many things conspire against him at once: a heart weakened by several surgeries, blood pressure through the roof, and an awkward angle on the floor with his chest being compressed all contribute to what comes next. "You can't play...when you...don't know the game..." he spits out angrily. With a weak sputter and a gasp, he flails in a weaker fashion, and then suddenly...dies. Eli Vanderpool didn't even need to be shot. He succumbed to a massive myocardial infarction. "Well, shit," Bludd mutters in mild surprise, getting to his feet. "Now I'll never know who this bastard was." He gives the body a nudge with his toe. "Hell, I hate mysteries."

They want to leave and get away from the Tribe? Whose fault is that?" Stripes thought. His daughter wanted him to think hard and guess but he wasn't in the mood. "Tell me." he commanded. Lightning's tail fell unhappily but she said, "The Clans mouse brain!" Stripes breathed out, "Of course!" Then he stopped, "Only 3 cats of the Clans managed to drive us from our dens when we fought, remember?" Lightning smiled, "But that is why you have me." she said in a sweet voice. "And I have a plan....."

Vorerst. So, have you given any more thought to that hunting trip?” “Some.” “I've done my research. It's kosher. Zero risk. Zero responsibility. We pay our money, show up and hunt. A real English hunt. Horses, hounds, the whole works. Like nothing we've ever done before.” That was the kicker, the reason William was even considering it. Novelty. There'd been a time when he'd counted the days between his hunting trips. Not any more. He was bored. “Okay,” he said. Teddy paused so long William prodded, “You there?” “Sure, I just … You said okay?” “Yeah. Go ahead. Set it up.” Teddy babbled away after that, making plans. William half listened as he admired Teddy's trophy – a necklace hanging from a picture frame – before flipping back to the ones he liked best, those of the woman herself, lying dead on her apartment floor. William stood in the middle of the forest clearing and stamped his feet. “Little chilly, huh?” Teddy said, blowing into his hands. William shrugged. Teddy glanced over. “You aren't worried, are you? It's risk-free, like I said. We're just along for the ride.” That wasn't the problem. The forest … it just wasn't what he'd expected. When Teddy first suggested this excursion, William's pulse had quickened. Like most of his kind, he was an urban hunter. Born and raised in the city. Stalked his prey through back alleys. Took them down in abandoned buildings. There was, however, an allure to the forest. The domain of hunters like Dayton Rogers and Ivan Milat and the Larsens. Raw and feral, primitive and wild. Except … this was a little more wild than William liked. Around them, gnarled trees shot up and slammed together overhead, blocking the moon and stars. The wind didn't bluster and blow like city wind. Here it whispered and moaned and shrieked. And it smelled like death. Not good death – bright coppery blood and fear. This was dank, dark death. Rot and decay. He glanced at Teddy. “Are you sure –?” The bay of a hound cut him off. Hooves pounded along the hard path. The hounds appeared first. Six beagles, noses to the ground, long ears dragging. Four horses followed. Ordinary-looking horses with ordinary-looking riders – guys between 30 and 50, wearing hunting jackets and jeans and boots. Just regular guys. Except they weren't regular at all. William could tell by the way their eyes took in everything and gave away nothing. Hunters, like them. “Sorry we're late,” said the bearded man in front. “Had some trouble with the fox.” A fifth horse stepped into the clearing. The rider led a sixth. A bound woman lay draped over the saddle. When he yanked the rope, she tumbled to the ground. A leather mask obscured her face, but William could see her eyes, rolling in terror. “Looks good,” Teddy said. “Young. Strong. Healthy. Scared.” The men chuckled, and the leader motioned for William to mount. “Where's mine?” Teddy asked. “Coming.” William swung onto his horse, remembering how from summers at his grandmother's farm. As his boots found the stirrups, he caught a flicker, like fire, to the left, and he looked over, startled, but it was only a lantern held by a rider. “Release the fox,” the leader said. The man holding her rope yanked again and, with a snap, her bound hands and feet came free. She pushed to all fours and started to run, still hunched over, so blinded by the mask that she headed for Teddy, who laughed and backed up. As she ran, her skin seemed to blacken, as if swallowed by the shadows. William gave his head a shake and blinked. When he opened his eyes, the girl was gone. In her place was a massive black dog, running straight for Teddy. As the beast sprang, Teddy wheeled and ran. The hounds ran too – not beagles now, but huge black dogs with blazing red eyes, tearing after Teddy so fast their paws never seemed to touch the ground. The leader shouted, “Ride!” and William turned to see five figures in black cloaks, hoods pulled up. Beneath them, their steeds had become great ebony horses with manes and hooves of flame. The Wild Hunt. William heard his grandmother's voice from all those years ago, when she'd seen what he'd done to the barn cats. “The riders will come for you, boy. Mark my words. The Wild Hunt will come.” William's horse plunged after its brethren. He tried to stop it. Tried to scramble off. But he was trapped, watching his friend run headlong through the forest as the hounds pursued, the riders pursued, he pursued. As they rode, more hunters joined, coming from all sides, silent wraiths atop fiery steeds. Ahead, the hounds bellowed and roared, jaws snapping so loud William could hear them. Teddy ran, but he did not run far. The beasts took him down. William tried to look away, but he couldn't move his head, couldn't shut his eyes. He was forced to watch as the hounds tore his friend to pieces. When he couldn't turn his horse around, he tried to dismount, but the stirrups snapped like traps, iron teeth chomping into his feet. As he screamed, the reins leaped up, like snakes, wrapping around his hands, tightening until the leather was embedded in his flesh. The leader's empty cowl turned toward him. “Ride!” As the group shot forward, William's steed joined them, with a blaze of fire that seared him to the bone and bound him to his mount, and he understood what his grandmother meant. The riders had come for him and now he would hunt … forever.

Kap Aldar sits in one of the corner booths, his eyes fixed nervously on the door, an unfinished drink on the table before him. He notices the arrival of the bounty hunter and mutters, "Swamp gas. Knew it'd happen, sooner or later." He slides out of the booth, looking for a path through the crowd, trying to bypass Fett. Boba Fett takes several steps into the bar. If he's seen Aldar, he gives no indication. Kap Aldar is currently skulking through the crowd, making his way toward the door and bypassing Boba Fett. Boba Fett continues on toward the bar, which he leans against and pounds a fist on once, to gain the bartender's attention. A rather large Gamorrean bumps into Meebo, as one tries to exit and the other enters. The rodian flinches back his good arm, as the drowling alien bumps into Meebo's slinged arm. Some blood oozes from the bandage. "Hey you, watch where ya go'en." Kap Aldar spots Meebo as well, turning his back in a sort of solo dance move and then ducks around the Rodian, heading for the door. The bartender turns a scowl toward Fett, but his face quickly changes when he recognizes the bounty hunter. "Um. What kin I do fer ya, sir?" "Aldar," Fett says to the bartender. "Seen him lately?" Meebo moves just to the side of doorway, after noticing Boba Fett at the bar. A female waitress dances by the rodian with a tray of drinks, Meebo scoops one up. He then turns back to watch Fett. The bartender nods. "Yeah, he's here," he says, looking around the bar slowly. "Or...well, he WAS here. Justa few minutes ago I saw 'im. Musta just left." Boba Fett turns without another word and heads for the door. If he notices Meebo, he gives no sign. You head into Bel Iblis Avenue . As he goes, he glances back from time to time to keep tabs on the hunters. Reaching the intersection, he draws his Blastech pistol from its holster, then ducks into the night. Boba Fett continues to search the crowd for a moment, and then heads for one of the nearby shops. You head into Armor Shop . He then moves to one side, to duck between two nearby shops, trying to blend into the shadows. Meebo stops dead in tracks. He curses, calling himself a fool, to lose track of his opponent. Kap Aldar pokes his head out, looking left and right, then tries heading back across to Bel Iblis Avenue West, still trying to evade his pursuers. A landspeeder whirs past, obscuring Kap Aldar's flight across the thoroughfare. Meebo stops, and does a 360 degree scan. Still nothing, no Aldar or Fett. Boba Fett moves quickly and silently between two alleyways, and stops to scan the crowd. He loses sight of Aldar behind the speeder and pauses again. He looks to the left, then to the right. And then he makes his way toward the lift. Boba Fett spies Aldar, and ducks into the shadows between the pawn shop and the armor shop. Kap Aldar takes one last look around, then pockets the commlink and steps onto the lift. Boba Fett moves toward the lift quickly after Aldar is gone. You step onto a lift headed for another level. Overhead rise several great dark towers, above which can be seen many ships flying through the upper atmosphere. Below the platform, the speeder traffic of Nar Shaddaa zips steadily by, and the vast cityscape descends, level by level, to unguessable depths toward the hidden surface below. A narrow skyway reaches out toward another platform in the distance. There is also a lift nearby leading upward into one of the great spires looming over you. There is enough room on the bridge for several people to walk abreast, but most people on it seem to hold tightly to the railings to either side. Beneath you, through the metal grilling that forms the floor of the bridge, you can see speeders and other craft zipping by in steady streams, some close enough for you to see the occupants, others far below, appearing only as glowing specks. He's so distracted trying to keep his attention on the hunters that he fails to notice the Devaronian he bumps into with his right shoulder. The Devaronian grabs Kap by the shoulders, jerks him and then pushes the smuggler so he's half over the railing. "Watch your step," the Devaronian hisses, then shoves Kap onward. Boba Fett looks around for Aldar but for the moment has lost sight of him. He continues across the skyway slowly. The Rodian slips into a crowded merchant area. At a brief moment, he had Fett spotted, but after bumping into a droid, Boba is lost. Skyway You are standing on a narrow steel bridge that, from the look of it, has seen better days. Boba Fett remains concealed by the crowds as he moves cautiously along the skyway. Meebo positions himself behind a merchant stand, he continues to scan the area. As he reaches the western end of the skyway, Kap holsters his pistol, then grabs the railing and begins a spider crawl with his fingers, keeping a grip on the skyway's edge. His legs dangle above the glittering black Nar Shaddaa abyss. He hangs there, looks down briefly, curses a whisper into the chill whipping wind, and then waits. Just Meebo's luck - he *noticed* Kap going over the rail. Boba Fett misses Aldar's maneuver and continues along the bridge, his masked face sweeping left and right. Meebo catches Kap's jump, and now sees him hanging on the skyway rail. Glancing quickly at his injured arm, he knows he won't be daring the same feat. Caustiously, he moves up to the next merchant stand, about 10 paces a head. He also draws his blaster. Boba Fett stops on the center of the skyway. He turns and looks back toward the East Platform, annoyed that his quarry seems to have disappeared. Kap Aldar doesn't notice Meebo. He just hangs from the skyway, trying not to move too much, conserving his strength. Kap Aldar keeps a secure hold on the bridge. Sweat trickles from his forehead. The Rodian sees his opportunity. A hover car passes by, and Meebo jumps to the other side of it, trying to cut off Kap's and Fett's line of sight. As the car heads towards the skyway bridge, Meebo stops following it. Meebo ducks behind a pillar that supports the bridge. Boba Fett begins to walk back toward the East Platform when he notices Meebo ducking to one side. He hesitates for a moment. Kap Aldar still doesn't see Meebo, but he *does* see an oncoming airspeeder zooming to pass under the skyway - with maybe a foot of clearance, leaving far too much of Kap exposed for his comfort. He tries to swing up under the skyway, hoping to lace a leg around one of the support girders. Meebo flicks the switch to his blaster to stun. He trains his blaster on Kam and wheezes. "Mister Alder, this blastica's aimed right on ya." His snout twitches, "Make it easy on yerself, come with me. I assure ya, I'll be easier on ya then Boba Fett!" Oh, that just didn't work out well at all. The speeder's lights shine on him, and the driver slows enough so the impact isn't fatal, but not enough to keep from WHOOMPHING! right into Kap's abdomen and folding him over the hood, whirring away from the skyway with the smuggler dazed, battered and draped across the front hull. Boba Fett watches Meebo for a moment, and then curses and looks beneath the bridge, just in time to see Aldar hit by the speeder. He immediately ignites his jetpack and takes off after the speeder. Meebo tucks his blaster at his side to conceal it. The rodian flags down a passing by hovercar. The car stops and Meebo jumps in, pointing to the speeder Kap sprawled to, he grunts. "Follow that speeder!" The wookiee in the speeder harrrronks! and shoves Meebo out onto the bridge, flat on his snout. Kap Aldar shakes his head, dazed and groggy, then takes an accounting of where he is: Hood. Airspeeder. Slumped, just inches from tumbling into the abyss. He glances wearily toward the airspeed driver, a Klatoonian who seems rather peeved by his new passenger. Kap doesn't seem too thrilled, either, reaching for the pistol holstered at his side. As he tries to draw, the Klatoonian notices and banks the speeder, trying to fling Kap off. Boba Fett sets the jetpack to full burn, trying to close the distance between Aldar, the speeder, and himself. Kap Aldar forgets about the pistol, for now, and just settles for hugging the hood of the airspeeder. He smiles weakly at the driver and jerks his head toward the spaceport. "If you could, just...uh...GET ME TO MY SHIP!" Meebo curses, as Fett and Aldar are many meters away. The Klatooinian sneers at Kap and then swerves his airspeeder around the other way, aiming for the skyway. "No!" Kap yells. "Wrong way! Wrong way!" Boba Fett raises his wrist as he approaches the speeder. A quick flexing movement, and his whipcord lashes out toward Aldar. Meebo notices speeder changing it's course. Calculating it's turn, Meebo realizes it's headed towards the bridge, which he is standing on. He moves back to the same pilar he was hiding behind earlier. Kap Aldar sees Boba Fett swooping in from behind, but doesn't really have anywhere to run and hide, so he tries to do the next best thing: Scrabble up onto the hood and into the airspeeder proper. As Kap tries to crawl across the hood, the whipcord swickswacks around his wrists, binding him, and he goes hurtling off the airspeeder as he's held in place while it whirs on. Boba Fett reverses thrust with the jetpack, his arm pulled downward as Aldar drags beneath him, joined to his gauntlet by the whipcord. He flies back toward the skyway. Meebo shakes his head. "Damn." And quickly gets up from his position behind the pilar. "Fett!" Kap yells upward, wincing as his ribs twinge with agony from where the speeder slammed him earlier. "Let's talk! We can deal!" Meebo brings his blaster to side, keeping an eye on where Fett lands. Boba Fett swings Aldar onto the skyway roughly and sets down a few feet from him. "I don't deal." Rani is walking up the skyway, her hood and cloak pulled tightly about her. She stops upon hearing a ruckus and looks up. She frowns and stays near the railing, but smiles when she hears the name 'Fett' Coming down hard on his side, hands still bound, Kap tries to jerk his arms down to protect his ribs. Meebo shoves the blaster in the holster, knowing he lost. His effort results in Kap doing a pretty good job of protecting his ribs, but at the same time it causes Boba Fett to stagger toward the edge of the skyway. The bounty hunter avoids going over, just the same. Boba Fett raises his other arm, his gauntlet blaster primed. "Easy or hard, Aldar?" "I got friends," Aldar growls. Rani approaches quietly towards the confrontation, watching and listening. Meebo seeing it's not exactly over yet, he moves onto the bridge. The Rodian's wiry hand beside his holsters blaster at all times. The sound coming from behind Fett's mask might be laughter. "If they're as pathetic as you, they shouldn't be a problem. On your feet. Algo the Hutt wants to talk to you." Meebo draws his blaster, "Come with me, I wanna learn about yer friends." "Algo?" Kap scurries up to his knees, bound hands clasping together in pleading to Boba Fett. "No! Not Algo! You know what he'll do to me?" He doesn't seem to give a fig about the Rodian at the moment. Rani's voice slips into the conversation as she pulls her hood slightly back. She's still some yards away. These are the days she is happy she takes occasional vacations from her miserable Borgo Prime rock. "And how much is Algo paying you to talk to him, Boba Fett?" Boba Fett swivels his head to face Meebo, and raises his gauntlet blaster to track the Rodian. "You've got to be kidding," he says, ignoring both Rani and Aldar for the moment. Meebo trains his blaster on no one in particular. He just holds it up in the general direction of Fett, Rani and Kap. He steps forward a few paces. Kap Aldar is a man facing likely execution at the hands of Algo the Hutt. Seeing Fett distracted by a foe, he does what any self-respecting doomed man would do: He lunges up and forward, trying to knock Fett off his feet. Rani's pale eyes look past Boba Fett and Aldar to regard the Rodian, "Looks like you have competition, Boba Fett." She seems slightly amused by all of this and just stays near the railing. Kap Aldar slams into Boba Fett and finds an unyielding armored wall, despite the distraction. He stumbles sideways, deflected by the armor, and his eyes widen as the abyss beyond the railing nears. The bound quarry goes staggering into the railing, tips and begins to plunge toward the abyss. Boba Fett is unmoved by Aldar's attack, but turns his attention away from Meebo as his quarry tumbles over the edge. He plants his feet and grasps the whipcord with both hands, pulling hard against the corellian's weight. Meebo wheezes, "Fett to worried about me, instead of yer bounty.." He taks a few steps foward, not worring about Kap falling. "No we both gonna loose!" THWANG! Like a fish on the end of a line, Kap Aldar dangles beneath the skyway, his raw wrists still bound by the whipcord. He sways lightly under the bridge until two speeders go zipping past. He has to swivel right to avoid one, and draws up his knees to avoid the second. Rani peers over the rail at the man dangling and whistles amused under her voice. Boba Fett maintains his footing and his hold on Aldar, and begins slowly to retract the whipcord. "Rodian, I'm going to bring my target in. You failed. Run away and hope I never find you...and stay off Tatooine." "I'm telling you, Fett!" Aldar growls between clenched teeth as he's reeled back up toward the skyway. "I can make you a very rich man! Name your price!" Meebo wheezes, "Ya but you almost lost him, don't hide the fact Fett." Wheezes, "Tatooine, can't we talk about this." Meebo pleas all this time, while Fett is wrestling with the cord. Rani just watches like someone at an arena, leaning a bit on the railing. Boba Fett stops retracting the whipcord, and lashes the end around one of the structural supports of the skyway, leaving Aldar hanging a few feet below the bridge. Detaching the cord from his gauntlet, he turns toward Meebo, and draws his EE-3 blaster rifle. "No." Meebo simply puts his blaster away, and walks across the skyway. Kap Aldar dangles beneath the skyway, jerking his legs up and swiveling desperately as airspeeders zip past. Boba Fett watches Meebo leave, his EE-3 still trained on the Rodian. He speaks for the first time, however, to Rani. "Twi'lek," he says. "What's it to you what I'm paid?" Rani slips her hood further off, "Oh come now, Boba Feet. I know its been years since you've been to Borgo Prime, but you could at least give a lady a welcome." She looks over the railing a bit, "The Hutt must want this one pretty bad." Boba Fett slings his rifle back over his back. "Algo wants him," he says, "but he also suited my purposes with the Rodian. Job from Jabba. Does your syndicate have interest in him?" Rani arches a brow and smiles broadly, "No no ... I would have put the word around by now. I just don't like Algo very much." She peers over again, "Who is he? I haven't seen him on Borgo." Boba Fett walks over to grasp the whipcord and begin hauling Aldar back to the bridge. "Kap Aldar. Smuggler, gambler, the usual sort. Ran up a few too many unpaid debts." VAROOOOOM! Another speeder zips beneath Kap. The soles of his shoes squeak along the roof. "FETT!" He's dragged briefly, then the speeder is gone and he swings back the other way. Rani tsktsks in an sarcastic way, "You'd think they'd learn that we keep our books well organized." She smiles as the man is nearly killed by another speeder, "Poor Kap Aldar. He's right ... Algo doesn't ask many questions before he guts someone." Boba Fett pulls Aldar up several more feet and then reaches down to grab him by his shirt. "Quiet you, or I'll let you drop," comes his mechanically filtered voice. To Rani he says, "Not my problem what happens once I drop him off." Kap Aldar sighs, his shoulders slumping as Fett reminds him of his fate. He remains suspended against the skyway, staring up at the masked bounty hunter. "I don't want Algo hurtin' me, Fett." Rani smiles towards Kap, "I really doubt Fett is going to pay attention to your whimpering, son. A contract is a contract after all and Fett listens to money." Boba Fett hauls Aldar up onto the bridge by his shirt. "Like I said, not my problem. Algo didn't specify he wanted you alive, so shut up." "Then kill me!" Aldar urges between clenched teeth. "If it don't matter, alive or dead, then make it dead!" "I caught you alive," comes Fett's response. "You get delivered alive." He turns to look at Rani. "You have any business for me? Or was this just a chance meeting?" Rani smiles a bit at the bounty hunter, "Just a chance meeting, Fett. I had to get away from Borgo for a little while. But do come and visit soon. I am sure when I get back there will be any number of brazen lambs for the slaughter." A soft, almoster maternal looks is given to the 'brazen lamb' in Fett's hands now. Kap Aldar sags against the railing of the bridge, head hanging low. "I don't have much time for social calls," Fett says. "You need me, you know how to get word to me." He grabs Aldar by the shirt again and shoves him forward down the skyway. "Come on, you." "Give my best to Algo, Kap Aldar." She smiles ... less maternally, as she heads off down the skyway the other way. Ahhh ... vacation. Kap Aldar staggers ahead of Fett, hands bound in front of himself.

He laughed softly and slipped out from under the covers of their bed. The cooler air bit at his skin as he stood to his full 6'1 height. He slipped on a pair of boxers and his house coat, before making way down to the first floor. At the bottom of the stairs Phineas paused slightly. He looked around is house and felt a sense of pride. Even with being the Einstein of his time and a multi-millionaire he still chose to live in a small suburban house hold like the one he and his best friend Ferb lived in as children. It was going to be the perfect place to raise their little girl. Putting the feeling aside he turned left into his kitchen. Without a sound, five men appeared for the shadows of his living room. Each of them was dressed head to toe in black and armed with guns. They moved as silently as they appeared to the doorway into the kitchen. The leader of them crouched by the door frame. He motioned to one of his companions who took out a pistol with a silencer attached to it. With a final nod, the man with the pistol rushed into the kitchen fallowed by the others and found the room empty. Confusion swept through all of them, until a dull thud sounded behind them. They spun around to see one of their team members on the floor, dead from the kitchen knife buried in the back of his skull. The lights in the kitchen suddenly shut off and the four remaining men were plunged into darkness. They scrambled to pull on their night vision goggles, but once they were all activated there was only three left in the room. There was a soft crack and suddenly their missing companion was thrown through the doorway at their feet with an obvious broken neck. "Defensive circle," The leader whispered, but the second he turned his back he heard the muffled scream of one of his other teammates and when he turned around he only managed to see his feet disappearing into the living room. The last two scrambled after him, only to find that their companion and his attacker had vanished into the darkness. Panic welled up in the leader. In less than two minutes more than half his team was gone. He turned back to his last remaining teammate, only to find out that he was completely alone. His panic levels increased as he pulled out his own pistol from his holster and desperately checked all around him. When he couldn't find anything he decided to cut his losses and searched for the front door. Finally he spotted the door, illuminated by the small window beside it made it, and made a mad dash for it. Just as his fingers grazed the door knob he suddenly felt a thin metal cord wrap around his throat. His hands shot to his neck and tried to pull it off, but it was too small and sliced into his skin. Within half a minute his struggles ceased and his killer let the lifeless body drop to the ground. Out from the shadows stepped Phineas, the bloody metal wire still clutched in his hand. He stared down at the body for a few seconds, before he reached over and flicked the light switch beside the door which bathed the room in light. Phineas sighed; the blood had already started to trickle down the man's neck and onto the floor under him. Good thing he died on the small tiled area in front of the door or he would be stuck cleaning the carpet again. He simply pulled the man's shirt up slightly, bunching it around the neck to stop any excess blood from dripping out and carried the body down to the basement. A couple minutes later he had all of the bodies down with the first and casually started stripping all of the men of their weapons and stealth equipment. A quick look at all of the pieces told Phineas that they were all quality pieces, so he placed all of them on a nearby work bench. Phineas hummed a little tune to himself as he hit a concealed button under the bench and watched the concrete slabs of floor silently lift up. After that, he began throwing the bodies into the small chamber of black metal. "I should really clean this out one day; it used to be chrome when I first installed it." He mused to himself while he pressed the button again and the slabs lowered back to the floor. Phineas's ears caught the faintest whooshing sound as the incinerator quickly reduced the bodies to ashes. "Now comes the boring part." Phineas rummaged through some of the boxes pilled around the room; before he found the one he was looking for and pulled an exact replica of the knife he used to kill the first man. He stashed the gear he took off of the others into another box and left the basement. Coming back upstairs he cleaned up the bloody messes and placed the replacement knife in the drawer. The red head yawned tiredly, getting the glass of water he had originally came for. He chugged the glass all in one go then headed up the stairs to his bedroom. On the way there he passed by the door to his daughter's room. Quietly, he opened the door and slipped inside to see his baby girl. He couldn't help smiling down at his daughter sleeping soundly in her crib. Gently reaching picking her up he cradled the baby in his arm, rocking her side to side. "Don't worry baby girl, daddy will always keep you safe." He kissed her head and set her back down. Phineas closed the door and quickly walked back into his own room. Isabella woke up when she felt her husband sliding back into the bed, having fallen asleep while he was gone. "What took you so long? Did you get the water from Niagara Falls?" She asked, though she wouldn't have doubted possibility that he had. "No," he chuckled, "Just solved a little problem, I'm sorry I kept you waiting." He shed his attire and slid back into the bed with her. "That's ok," she nuzzled her head into his chest, feeling his form press up against hers again. "Good night, Phineas," He hummed as he closed his eyes. "Good night, love,"
