  • Defense Drones are drones used by the team that is deployed on Asteroid X57 for security purposes. The drones are scattered all over the asteroid, defending positions. They are armed with a Mass Accelerator Machine Gun. During the mission to stop the batarian extremists, Shepard and the squad encounter these defense drones that have been reprogrammed by the batarians, or activated by the facility's engineers to stop the takeover of the asteroid.
  • The Defense Drone is a robot that is located on SkyTown, Elysia and is the second boss fought there, after the Steamlord. Samus is ambushed by this mechanoid when she tries to acquire the Boost Ball. This trap was likely set up by the Elysians (to test those who wish to obtain the Boost Ball) or Ghor.
  • Aschen Defense drones are small, unassuming black domes attached to the walls of strategically important rooms. Several moments are required for the drones to energize; once they are charged they launch needle-pricking energy bolts at a high rate of fire against aggressors, leaving small puncture marks on the body of individuals.

Text
  • The Defense Drone is used to secure key areas within SkyTown. The externally mounted antennas are tied into the unit's optic array. By destroying all of the antennas, the optic array will overload and be vulnerable for a short period. The machine's Control Unit is also vulnerable, but must be exposed to be targeted. Its armor is immune to small-arms fire.

Several moments are required for the drones to energize; once they are charged they launch needle-pricking energy bolts at a high rate of fire against aggressors, leaving small puncture marks on the body of individuals. The weapon's shots are relatively weak and take multiple shots to kill or disable a target, but they are highly accurate. The defense drones are easily susceptible to Goa'uld weaponry including zats, which disable them with the electric pulse, and staff weapons, which blow them apart. (SG1: "2010")

Samus is ambushed by this mechanoid when she tries to acquire the Boost Ball. This trap was likely set up by the Elysians (to test those who wish to obtain the Boost Ball) or Ghor.
