If Bouapha picks it up, he gets robotic armor which allows him to shoot a stream of bullets forwards by pressing Fire, or fire four missiles by pressing the Special Weapon button. The armor is treated like a Special Weapon, so it will appear on the top right. It drains over time, and also drains more if you get hurt. When the weapon is fully drained, the Power Armor explodes and Bouapha returns to his normal state.
- Power armor are electrically powered assault armors only used by the most powerful organization of their time, which are the Majestic 12 in 2052 and the Knights Templar in 2072.

- Power armor is the peak of armored infantry technology, initially developed in the West Tek Research Facility laboratories. Now, only the most technologically advanced factions with ties to pre-War military or government, such as the Brotherhood of Steel or the Enclave, have access to them, and only the latter possesses the technology required to manufacture new power armor models, such as the advanced power armor Mk II. In Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, users must obtain Power Armor Training before using power armor.
- Power Suit or Power Armor are interchangeable terms for exoskeleton constructions which increase strength, speed, and resistance to damage. They may or may not include flight capabilities and or armaments. They range from mass-produced versions used by PD Power Suit Squads, the MCO, the Knights of Purity, ARC's special forces and Syndicate elite units to the custom-built creations of gadgeteers, devisors and science heroes (or villains). In appearance they are reminiscent of the armor worn in the late middle ages, being form fitting with elaborate articulation to allow for enhanced mobility combined with improved damage resistance. And like that armor, their weakest points are the joints.

The first version of power armor successfully deployed in combat was the T-45 model, which originally ran on small energy cells, burning through them at an alarming rate. In response, later versions were manufactured with built-in microfusion packs. The effectiveness of the T-45 power armor was overwhelming. It served a huge role in pushing back Chinese forces, allowing individual soldiers to take entire towns, protecting the wearers from everything from conventional fire to head on missile impacts. The most advanced pre-War model, T-51b power armor is fitted with a back-mounted TX-28 microfusion pack which generates 60,000 Watts to power the HiFlo hydraulic systems built into the frame of the suit. Made of the poly-laminate composite, the T-51b shell is lightweight and capable of absorbing over 2500 Joules of kinetic impact. The 10 micron silver ablative coating can reflect laser and radiation emissions without damage to the composite subsurface. T-51b power armor and later models also include a complete waste recycling system. In one of the conversations with Ricky in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Honest Hearts, it is revealed that the eyeslits of T-series power armor are bullet-proof. The Hēi Guǐ stealth armor kept the Chinese near the same level as the United States, but not by much. The armor's translation is "Black Ghost".

Power armor may also incorrectly refer to the creations of individuals such as Iron Star who manifest armor and use TK or related abilities to provide motive force, or remote controlled drones such as those used by the Golden Knight. They're not really power armor, but close enough for our purposes. Power frames are a different kettle of fish. The power frame utilized by Little Bee was an open enclosure that she rode within, with waldo-controlled manipulators. Little to no protection for the operator, designed for use in construction or related activities. Also not to be confused with power suits are the restraint harnesses utilized by Diz Aster and Olympia. Rather than increasing strength, these are designed to decrease the force applied. But don't tell Olympia, she thinks it is a power suit, and we'd like her to keep thinking that. Power Suits have a weak point: Power. They are very energy intensive, and traditional power sources either provide short operational periods or increase the mass of the suits such that they become small tanks. Numerous solutions have been tried, ranging from the broadcast power used by the Knights of Purity (which tether them to the vicinity of their drop ships) through gadgeteers' future tech and devisors' reality-twisting devises to energizers' self-powered units. The materials available for constructing the suits also cause trade-offs between dexterity, mobility, and damage resistance. Examples:
