  • The Hoplite was a Federation shuttlecraft that was assigned to the USS Carthage. The shuttle was named for the hoplite, a foot soldier of the military from ancient Greece and Carthage. (ST - The Lost Era novel: The Art of the Impossible)
  • Hoplite is Leinad's Bisharp. He is commonly used in conjunction with Belial in Double Battles, and with both Belial and Antares in Triple Battles.
  • Hoplites are in Demon's Souls.
  • Hoplite Titans are centaur-like warriors possessing the body and legs of a lion. These armored warriors, though relatively weak while alone, gain power when working together as an army. They are closely related to the lion-like gladiator Titan, Bellona.
  • Their golden armour gives them unequaled defense, while their spears provide a strong offense. —In-Game Description, Etrian Odyssey III The Hoplite is a defensive class from Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City. They are the party's defense specialists. Like the Protector from previous games, the Hoplite (known as Phalanx in Japan) boasts a formidable defense and an array of skills to keep the party from taking too much damage. They can wear Heavy Armor and use Spears and Shields to great effect and possess skills to draw enemy focus or take damage for another party member.
  • A Hoplite (Hopilite) is a unique unit available to the Greek player in later Civilization games.
  • An enemy that appears to be a skeletal corpse adorned in standard Greek armor, and with two swords for weapons. They attack Kratos by charging at him, and delivering strong strikes with their dual swords. Kratos encounters these enemies in Asphodel, Tartarus, and the Elysium Fields. They can also be found climbing on walls, and attempt to grapple Kratos and throw him off. Kratos can damage them by grabbing them and giving them a strong headbutt. After doing enough damage, he can kill them by throwing to the ground, and beheading them with his blades. There are similar enemies called Hoplite Archers which aid the standard Hoplites by attacking at a distance.
  • Derived from the Greek word hoplon, which is an item of armor or equipment, hoplite can be roughly translated as "armored man". In the Hermetic sense, a hoplite is a powerful magus within the Order of Hermes that serves as an enforcer of the Hermetic Code. When a Wizards' March has been called for, it is the Hoplites of the Order who pursue and execute the offending wizard. Although not an official title, if a magus earns a reputation for assisting Quaesitores in the execution of their duties, he will generally become known as a hoplite.
  • Heavy footsoldiers that fight with spears in a mass formation. * They are found in Peloria Source: Entekosiad, Glorious ReAscent
  • Hunter-Killers are further-upgraded supersoldiers. They are of basically humanoid physiology, but always appear encased in form-fitting suits of black armor. They seem to have unnaturally long arms and characteristic wing-like protrusions on the back, although either or both may be features of their armor. Their armor incorporates both a jetpack and a cloaking device, both of which are Eastasian technology. Their armament consists of a laser gun and a pair of missile launchers built into their "wings". In missions, the Hunter-Killer will occasionally carry a different two-handed main weapon, such as a minigun, plasma gun, tank rifle or flamethrower, but due to their in-built secondary armament, they will never use missile launchers as main weapons. Some will use two one-handed nano-blades
  • Hoplites were citizen-soldiers of Ancient Greek city-states who were primarily armed with spears and shields. Their main tactic was the phalanx formation. They were primarily free citizens—propertied farmers and artisans—who were able to afford the bronze armor suit and weapons (estimated at a third to a half of its able-bodied adult male population). Hoplites generally received basic military training.

In 700 BC, a military innovation called the phalanx formation was introduced. This new tactic proved to be a success during the Battle of Marathon in 490 BC and the Battle of Plataea in 479 BC, when the Greeks defeated the Persians. The Persian archers and light troops who had fought in the Battle of Marathon failed when their bows were too weak and incapable of penetrating the Greek shields and armour, and their own armour and shields could not stand up to the longer spears and swords of the Greeks. The word "hoplite" (Greek: hoplitēs; pl. hoplitai) derives from "hoplon" (, plural hopla ), the type of the shield used by the soldiers, although, as a word, "hopla" could also denote the weapons held or even full armament. In later usage, the term hoplite is used to denote any armored infantry such as the Swiss mercenaries during the Burgundian Wars (1474–1477).

Some will use two one-handed nano-blades or a bath'let. Elite Hunter-Killers frequently use disintegrator ray and are the only HK's encountered with this weapon. In skirmish, laser-armed Hunter-Killers always upgrade to a disintegrator when promoted. They also have a submachine gun and a nanoblade integrated into the wrists of their suits, but will only use those if disarmed and at close range. Hunter-Killers are immune to many methods of incapacitation and hazards that would be lethal to ordinary infantry are often entirely ineffective against them. Radiation fails to have any effect on them (while it still does reduced damage to the Supersoldier), as does poison gas. They cannot be stunned and neither flinch in pain nor panic, so they will never flee from combat once engaged, unless called back by their commander. They cannot be mind-controlled, but do take (greatly reduced) mind damage. EMP and hacking are effective against them, entirely disabling them while the effect lasts, although on elite promotion, they are immune even against that. Fire-based weapons, lethal against most humanoid opponents, inflict reduced damage, as it does with all power armor, equal to the damage inflicted on the asbestos-clad flamethrower himself. Hunter-Killers are the most dangerous human opponents Class: Ninja, Dark Lord
