  • The Jailer is a monster who guards the Black Knight jail deep in the Taverley dungeon. After he is killed he drops a key that unlocks the cell. Once inside the cell players can obtain the dusty key which is required for accessing the dungeon further. This step is completed during the Hero's Quest.
  • The Jailer is in the Black Knight's Headquarters in Taverley Dungeon and must be killed if one wants to go deeper into the dungeon. For example, in the Scorpion Catcher and in the Heroes' Quest, you need to kill the Jailer, pick up the jail key he drops, open the jail door with the key and get the Dusty key from Velrak the Explorer. You can do this several times to get more Dusty keys. Or you can just do the drop trick. Although the player only needs one key and can pick up another Dusty key further into Taverley Dungeon. Players with level 70 or higher Agility, however, can obtain this key by using the agility shortcut near the entrance to the dungeon. The shortcut goes to the blue dragon area.

  • Jailer is a fast moving monster themed after a prison, created to serve Wrand by using his Chain Jail to capture martial artists and athletes whose anger of being held captive would suit their needs. Though defeated by Red Dino Charge Ranger and Green Dino Charge Ranger with the Dino Charge Cycles to counter his speed, Jailer is enlarged before being destroyed by Dino Slasher Megazord.

He was a powerful firebender, though his main attacks were basic fire blasts and lines of fire. Eventually, he was defeated by Aang when the young airbender ran around him repeatedly, only attacking when the jailer took it upon himself to rest.

  • Jails and dungeons are never pleasant places and even short stays can have a detrimental effect on people. Jailers have to live in these places and it shows. They are seldom pleasant to look at and they have a good chance of carrying a variety of diseases and parasites, although they seldom succumb to disease themselves. Jailers generally have no sense of justice or pity and are seldom swayed by pleas or speeches. The thing that talks most clearly to them is money, for theirs is seldom a well-paid profession. Jailers quickly become inured to the suffering they see all around them and many are brutal or even sadistic; a great many jailers are alcoholics.
  • Jailer is the 104th level in Chip's Challenge 1. Jailer is not famed for the structure of the level, which is a pretty simple four-directional level with bouncing pink balls, but for the possible occurrences of the Transparency Glitch that can occur while playing it. (See the article for more information; this page will concern the route only.) Use the green key to open the west green lock, then play counterclockwise and take the first two chips, and then open the south green lock. Wait [1], take the red and blue keys, open the north green lock, and then take the yellow key and open the east green lock. As the ball comes out, sneak in to collect the two chips, play into the corridor below and take the chips from this circle (Chip can go either direction depending on where the walker is heading), and then Chip can play counter-clockwise all the way around the level the rest of the way through until he ends in the exit, only pausing when exiting the third walker room.
