With a deep, pure love for Pokémon, a fondness for Pokémon battles and a yearning for a life of adventure, Michael starts his journey when he meets Professor Oak and is handed his own Pokémon. From there on, Michael sets out to travel across the Kanto region, collecting every kind of Pokémon he sees to fill his Pokédex for Professor Oak, as well as take on the eight Kanto Gym Leaders for their badges, in order to make it to Indigo Plateau and become the Champion of the Pokémon League. He also routinely faces off against his own younger brothers and rivals, Shane and Aries; with Shane's goals being similar to Michael's, and Aries' goals differing slightly in that he wishes to become a Pokémon breeder. Along the way, he runs into the evil Team Rocket, whom Michael opposes due to their inhumane treatment of Pokémon. Currently, little info beyond this is purposefully withheld by the author in an attempt to keep readers in suspense, and so what happens to Michael beyond all this is unknown.
