  • Smitty is a character who appears for a few episodes of the Majin Buu Saga. He hangs around with the madman Van Zant. In the uncut, a scene is shown where Van Zant gets Smitty to shoot an old man. Smitty hesitates to kill him, but after he does he finds it fun to kill people. After killing many innocents, they attacked Majin Buu and blew up his house. Then Mr. Satan beat them up, knocking Smitty off the edge of the hill before pummeling Van Zant. Smitty watched the battle between Majin Buu and Evil Buu, his tall thin gray counterpart, but when Evil Buu ate Majin Buu and turned into Super Buu, he noticed Smitty, who desperately tried to run. Buu turned into liquid and went down Smitty's throat, making him expand until he exploded. Most of the details of this scene were cut from the edited version, including a scene in the uncut where Smitty shoots Buu, making several holes in him, which heal up. Smitty suffers the worst death in all of Dragonball Z. From Dragon Ball Wiki, a Wikia wiki.

Van Zant forced him to shoot an old man, and he discovered he liked killing innocent people, so they terrorized cities and shot people, until they decided to go after Majin Boo so that they could have all the victims to themselves. Smitty and Van Zant blew up Boo's house, but Mr. Satan attacked Smitty, knocking him off the hill they were on and knocking him out. After Van Zant's death, Smitty witnessed the battle between Boo and Pure Evil Majin Boo. When Pure Evil Boo ate Fat Boo and turned into Evil Majin Boo, he went after Smitty. The gunman shot him, but the holes in him healed up. Evil Boo turned to liquid form and went down Smitty's throat, making him expand until he exploded. Due to the brutal nature of his death scene, a great deal of it was cut from the American version shown on television. All we see is Evil Boo heading for Smitty's mouth, then Satan watching, then it shows the explosion, making clear Smitty was destroyed. Because of his crimes, Smitty was one of Boo's victims to not be revived from the Namekian Dragon Balls since the wish asked that the really evil ones be exempt from revival.

However, Hank is able to cover up for Smitty's poor groundskeeping by convincing Lucky to race his truck on the field against his fellow rednecks. The field is ruled unfit for play and Smitty is not at fault due to the trucks destroying the field. Subsequent to this, Smitty retires and receives a bonus to his pension due to the incredible work the town believes he performed during the season. Smitty is not seen again in the series.

Throughout the ordeal, Smitty continued to film the action, broadcasting Delirious' terrified response to the darkness and his sidekick's fury at him. Later, the technician ordered Smitty to get away from the wall so that Theo and Mr Diggum's family could burrow through the rock. As he did so, he continued to film Delirious' change in mood, angering the other team member further. Out in the Emerald Hill Zone following their escape, Smitty once again turned his attention to Delirious, just in time to see him get gagged by his finally-snapped sound professional.
