  • The Megaton hammer is a huge hammer that weighs heavy on the heads of those it hits.
  • The Megaton Hammer is an extremely heavy hammer that Link can use. Learning to use it effectively could take some time, as its reach is somewhat short for a weapon. Its power and toughness, however, far exceed that of any normal sword. Its name is a pun of "mega ton".
  • The downside of defeating regular enemies is its speed - which is dramatically lowered compared to the sword. Apparently an ancestor of Darunia, the Fire Sage and Goron ruler, used the Megaton Hammer to seal Volvagia away, though Ganondorf unleashed the fire beast once more and planned to use it to gobble up all of the Gorons. When the threat of the monster arose once more, Link took it upon himself to find the Megaton Hammer and thwart it once more. In Soul Calibur II for the GameCube, a game in which Link appears as a playable guest character, one of his weapons is the Megaton Hammer.
  • While a powerful weapon in its own right, its primary fields of use are depressing heavily rusted switches, knocking away certain statues that impede his progress, flipping over certain enemies and destroying certain types of boulders. Interestingly, the hammer can also be used for some of the same purposes bombs are used for, such as uncovering entrances to Hidden Holes and destroying Door Mimics. Using the hammer on the ground will cause any nearby Tektites to flip over onto their backs, in a manner similar to using the POW Blocks in the original Mario Bros.
