  • Boulder is just that--a boulder. They fall from chutes in Drill Man's stage at regular intervals if Mega Man gets within range. Mega Man can destroy the boulders, which sometimes leave behind power-ups. The chutes themselves cannot be destroyed. Boulders inflict moderate damage, but really become a nuisance once they hit the ground and break into pieces. However, if Mega Man destroys all of these pieces (usually with a charge shot), they can yield multiple power-ups at once, which comes in handy for refilling life / weapon energy. Standing under the chutes with a charged Pharaoh Shot is a safe and easy way to farm pickups.

  • Boulders are recurring obstacles in The Legend of Zelda series. They are simply large rocks that fall from a higher point and follow a random movement pattern. While they, as non-sentient beings, cannot attack as such, they can damage Link by landing on top of him or rolling into him. There is no way to defeat Boulders, and they must simply be averted. Boulders are continually found near mountains.

  • Peel was a fan of the album 'Ripping Christ' and seemed to have discovered the album one year after its official release in America. Tracks from it featured on his shows in early 2002. However he refused to play the track 'Kick The Pregnant' because of the name, despite liking the music. Peel would mention this controversial track in media interviews in 2002, an example coming on the TV programme Room 101 in conversation with host Paul Merton:
  • His home was reached by the Skarloey Railway, who then preceded to build a quarry on the cliff-side below it. Rusty was suspicious of it and thought that it may have been watching him. Later, the drilling into the mountain by Thumper caused vibrations that shook Boulder loose from his perch and sent him onto the tracks, creating a path of destruction along the Skarloey Railway, finally terminating by destroying the standard gauge sheds. After this, Sir Topham Hatt closed the quarry and had Boulder moved to a new mountain, close by the yards. It still stands there to this day.

Rusty was suspicious of it, and thought that it may have been watching him. Later, the drilling into the mountain by Thumper caused vibrations that shook Boulder loose from his perch and sent him on a path of destruction along the Skarloey Railway, finally terminating by destroying the standard gauge sheds. After this, the Fat Controller closed the quarry and had Boulder moved to a new mountain, near Boulder's old one. It still stands there to this day.
  • Boulder is the bodyguard of Sabine in Fable III. When Sabine speaks to the Hero about the Dweller Camp, he references Boulder, stating that the Dwellers are simple folk. Boulder replies only in the form of grunts meaning he may not be very intelligent, he doesn't like to speak much, or he is unable to talk. As Sabine's bodyguard, Boulder accompanied his master into Bowerstone during the revolution, helping him destroy the gates that barred entrance into other districts of the city. He also saved his master at least once during the conflict, alerting the distracted Sabine to a nearby grenade.

If you move onto a square containing a boulder, you will try to push it to the next square in line. Pushing boulders exercises the player's strength, and can be used as a "gym" to make a weak character stronger.

  • He is a true ShadowClan cat.
  • He wanted me to give up my freedom and join his Clanmates! I nearly clawed off his fur. I didn't need a leader or a Clan. But he kept talking, and some of the things he said made sense.
  • "That's right. You could have killed us, but you chose not to. If that's what it means to live by your warrior code—that, and the fact you feed yourselves, and find your own shelter—then we want to be part of it."
  • This is it. Now, remember what I told you. The cat we're going to meet holds command over many cats. You must treat him with respect.

If you move onto a square containing a boulder, you will try to push it to the next square in line. If this fails, you will be unable to enter the square, unless your inventory is almost empty (except for gold). Pushing boulders exercises the player's strength, and can be used as a "gym" to make a weak character stronger. Non-phasing monsters cannot enter a square containing a boulder, except for giants. Giants may stand over and pick up boulders and throw them. A boulder thrown at you ends up on your square, and you may move off it as normal, but cannot re-enter the square without pushing the boulder out of the way. If polymorphed into a giant, you can do the same. Boulders block line of sight. Monsters cannot attack through boulders, but you can use missile weapons, wands, and spells to attack through them. Wands of striking or spells of force bolt will shatter boulders, but other wands and spells (specifically the wand of digging) will pass over them with no effect on the boulder. Boulders can be used to block corridors, doorways and pits. Boulders are especially useful for crossing water: push them into water and they will create new dry land for you to walk (9/10 chance). If the boulder sinks without a trace, just try again with another boulder. Boulders are sometimes found in traps, where there is a hidden switch that triggers a rolling boulder, that may crush the player. They can also be summoned by using a scroll of earth. To get past a boulder, the player may break it into stones with a pickaxe, wand of striking or force bolt. It is also possible to take off all armor, drop enough (most) items from the inventory, and squeeze past it. A spell of stone to flesh turns a boulder into a huge chunk of meat, which is a normal item with none of the boulder's unique properties. Many players choose to change the symbol for boulders to make them more noticeable, particularly during Sokoban. 0 (zero) is a popular choice. Boulders are often used to protect stashes by pushing one on top of the stash or even many boulders around it as a fort.

The City of Boulder has created an Urban Wildlife Management Plan which sets policies for managing and protecting urban wildlife.[1] Also, the city's parks department has a Conservation Team which monitors parks (including wetlands, lakes, etc) to protect ecosystems.[2] From time to time, parks and hiking trails are closed to conserve or restore ecosystems.[3] Traditionally, Boulder has avoided the use of chemical pesticides W for controlling the insect population. However, with the threat of West Nile Virus W, the city began an integrative plan to control the mosquito population in 2003 that includes chemical pesticides. Residents can opt-out of the program by contacting the city and asking that their areas not be sprayed.[4] Under Boulder law, extermination of prairie dogs W requires a permit. [5] Also in 2005, the city experimented with using goats for weed control in environmentally sensitive areas. Goats naturally consume diffuse knapweed and Canada thistle, and although the program was not as effective as it was hoped, goats will still be considered in the future weed control projects.[6] Cycling USA - see separate article Cycling Boulder Boulder is surrounded by more than 36,000 acres (149 km²) of recreational open space, conservation easements, and nature preserves. There are ample opportunities for hiking, biking, running, and rock climbing. Many of the trails start at the edge of the city, while others are a short drive away. The trails vary in difficulty: some are quite easy while there are some that are technically challenging. A trail map is available online or from a variety of local retailers. The City of Boulder Open Space website is a great resource for information about outdoor activities and volunteer opportunities. World-class rock climbing is found in nearby Eldorado Canyon, near the small unincorporated community of Eldorado Springs, six miles south of Boulder. Eldorado Canyon is a wonder of natural beauty, but it is most famous for its hundreds of world-renowned rock climbing routes. There are also high quality climbing routes available in the city open space, including climbing routes of varying difficulty on the Flatirons W themselves. Boulder Canyon, directly west of downtown Boulder, also has many good routes. All three of these areas are affected by seasonal closures for wildlife. [7] [8], [9] Boulder is home to the Ultimate Players Association W (UPA), the governing body for the sport of Ultimate in the United States. The UPA is a player-run not-for-profit organization, founded in 1979, with over 27,300 members and hundreds of volunteers. Mass Transit - Boulder has an extensive bus system operated by the Regional Transportation District (RTD). The HOP, SKIP, JUMP, BOUND, DASH and STAMPEDE routes run throughout the city and connect to nearby communities on a frequent basis, with departures every ten minutes during peak hours, Monday-Friday. Other routes, such as the 201, 203, 204, 205, 206, 208, 209 and 225 depart every 15 to 30 minutes. Regional routes, traveling between nearby cities such as Longmont (BOLT, J), Golden (GS), and Denver (B/BX/DM/HX/S/T), as well as Denver International Airport (AB), are also available. There are over 100 scheduled buses that run between Boulder and Denver on weekdays. Boulder will be connected to downtown Denver with a BRT or Bus Rapid Transit route along US-36. This is being funded by FasTracks and construction is expected to begin in 2009 and to be completed in 2016. A commuter rail route is set to run through Boulder to Longmont, with the station being on the intersection of 30th and Pearl Streets. Route, schedule and fare information is available on the RTD Web site at , or by calling their Telephone Information Center at 303-299-6000. Real time arrival information for the HOP route is available at . Google also offers a transit trip planner for the Boulder-Denver region at Beginning in 2014, commuter rail will travel between Longmont, Boulder and Denver, with stops in major communities along the way. This commuter rail line is funded by FasTracks, a transit improvement plan funded by a 0.4% increase in the sales tax throughout the Denver metro area. RTD, the developer of FasTracks, and the City of Boulder are planning a transit-oriented development near Pearl and 33rd Streets to accommodate a Boulder Fastracks station. The development will feature the relocated Boulder Railroad Depot, which may be returned to a transit-related use. Growth management - Government preservation of open space around Boulder began with the Congress of the United States W approving the allocation of 1,800 acres (7.3 km²) of mountain backdrop/watershed extending from South Boulder Creek to Sunshine Canyon in 1899. Since then, Boulder has adopted a policy of controlled urban expansion. In 1959, city voters approved the "Blue Line" city-charter amendment which restricted city water service to altitudes below 5750 feet, in an effort to protect the mountain backdrop from development. In 1967, city voters approved a dedicated sales tax for the acquisition of open space in an effort to contain urban sprawl. In 1970, Boulder created a "comprehensive plan" that would dictate future zoning, transportation, and urban-planning decisions. Hoping to preserve residents' views of the mountains, in 1972, the city enacted an ordinance limiting the height of newly constructed buildings. A Historic-Preservation Code was passed in 1974, and a residential-growth management ordinance (the Danish Plan) in 1976. [10] [11] * City of Boulder website

As an apology, the military funded a program to create a self-sustaining research dome, capable of withstanding a nuclear attack. This "city of the future" was to be a prototype for settlements on the moon and other planets. Then the war with China began. The USA annexed Canada. Boulder became a hotbed of political activity, as most of the scientists were naturally suspect of the military, and they, their families, and friends staged public protests about the situation, which got much of the city population up in arms. Some of the protests turned into riots, and the riot police were called in to suppress the riots. That squelched it but left everyone at a low simmer. When reports of plague outbreaks in Denver surfaced, many in Boulder feared that an exodus from that city would come here and infect them; they fled north. When the bombs fell, Cheyenne Mountain (a military facility, home of NORAD) was a primary target. A huge section of the mountains became a great radioactive smoking crater. Coupled with attacks on Denver and the Rocky Mountain Arsenal, Boulder became the center of a triangle of hellish death.

  • Boulder is a giant boulder who lives high in the mountains of Sodor. His home was reached by the Skarloey Railway, who then preceded to build a quarry on the cliffside below it. Boulder is perfectly round, and has moss clinging to him in some places. A mysterious face sometimes appears on him. His persona is described as proud and silent. It is assumed that Boulder's face was utilised from Gordon's face.
