  • Mutant is an alternate form of a character in Multiplayer that appears in the Island Escape multiplayer challenge of Size Matters. When exposed to the nuclear chemicals for too long, the character will transform into a Mutant beast that becomes an enemy and also respawns. You can create an infinite amount of mutants by allowing the radioactivity of the power cells transform you.
  • Mutant - tryb gry w Unreal Tournament 2004, przemieniający deathmatch w zabawę w stylu "jeden przeciw wszystkim".
  • Mutant is the name given by Tom to describe certain damaged freaks who call The Best Show on WFMU.
  • The mutant's flesh is mutilated and torn in places, and some limbs appear deformed. They also seem bent over and sometimes obese. Mutants come in two variants: one with reddish-brown skin, and one with whitish-brown skin. Both have different attacks; the reddish-brown type will punch the player twice, while the whitish-brown type will slap the player with both hands at the same time.
  • Mutants are human beings born with a genetic anomaly that grants them super human powers. It is thought that this is the next stage of human evolution. Their status is highly controversial and those who are mutants often face hatred and prejudice from normal humans. The scientific name is often been called Homo Superior, though this was mostly stated by those who believed in mutant dominance.
  • A Mutant is a creature found in 2300 A.D. in Chrono Trigger. They have the ability to steal heal from Crono and his party.
  • A mutant is someone who suffers from a biological mutation that changes them on a genetic level. The chemicals responsible for causing mutations are mutagens, with most being carcinogenic (cancerous) in nature. Fictional mutants tend to have mutations that go far beyond what is typically seen in biological mutants, and often result in the mutated life form exhibiting superhuman abilities or qualities.
  • Mutants fall under the specifications of having mundane earthly origins, but have undergone some sort of biological change from its mundane counterparts by accidental or incidental interaction with the previously mentioned sources. They should be differentiated from hybrids and other inter-species breeding or biological experimentation by Mythos agents. The following are creatures that can be identified as mutants:
  • The Mutants were a gang established in an anarchic Gotham City lead by an individual called the Mutant Leader.
  • Mutants are an artificial type of Mysterious Beings created through genetic modification.
  • File:Q2.png In Quake II, the Mutant is a large, grey creature that only uses melee attacks. It can pounce and slash you. It is notable for being one of only three known examples of native Stroggos fauna (the other being the Barracuda Shark, and the Gekk, found in The Reckoning) to have survived the global industrialization programs of the Strogg, which have heavily polluted so much of Stroggos. Mutants only appear in the Prison and Mine hubs.

  • Large numbers of Mutants had been born on Earth following various atomic and biological wars. Prior to 2099, mutants had been banned from Mega-City One. In the same year, Judge Joe Dredd had believed they had been banned as they hated 'ordinary people because they themselves were warped'.
  • A mutant is a human being who is born with genetic modifications that allow for abilities not possessed by regular humans. Although mutant powers vary greatly, the most common mutant powers are: telepathy, flight, the ability to project energy, an accelerated healing factor, and enhanced strength, agility or senses.
  • In some cases, mutants were created through genetic engineering, radiation or the dark side of the Force, most notably Sith alchemy and magic. Subjects were often remade into mutants to be more brutal, more cunning, and, in some cases, more intelligent, such as Wilk, a wolf from the forest moon of Endor who was able to understand and speak Galactic Basic. In other cases, individuals of a wide range of species were born mutants most notably Triclops and the Keeramak.
  • Mutants are civilians mutated by Chemo's chemical residue.
  • Mutant is a Swedish Blackened death metal band from Haparanda, formed in 1998. The members of the band are Peter Lake and Henrik Ohlsson.
  • The Mutant is an enemy encountered only one, in the game Modern Warfare 4, but only in a delusion by Soap MacTaivsh being heavily radiated at the time. They can take nearly ten times as much damage as a normal enemy can, and can kill in three slashes of their hands, and move at a sprinting speed at all times.
  • Ther term Mutant is a sort of catch-all for any who are abnormal. Many of these are are new to the world of Solia, created by Emilia Astrovitch. They come in all shapes and sizes and are a sub-race to their main race. (For example Ariel Faux is a mutant as well as an Unaril.) They are gained by doing something out of the ordinary such as drinking a potion or eating thigns that really shouldn't be put in your mouth.
  • Mutants were created as a result of genetic experimentation by Dr. M. He primarily used them as form of defense for his Kaine Island fortress, in addition to his arsenal of turrets, missiles and spotlights. There were six known types of mutants, each of them being hybrids of two or more animals. While some were smaller and behaved like typical guards, others were much larger and more difficult to defeat. Dr M's Lab Fixed.jpg
  • Dans le jeu, un mutant est un monstre particulier, pas une classe de monstres.
  • Whilst mutants have been spotted before 2052, the mutants still seem to have originated from the U-Genix company, successor to The Brotherhood of Ultra Science and owned by Jacob Crow, still crazed by his search for immortality. U-Genix mutants are extremely similar to the TimeSplitters that Jacob Crow eventually creates in 2243. The reason mutants may have ended up before 2052 could be because Crow needed a place to hide his hideous experiments, and the past would have been the perfect hiding place.
  • Mutants, also known as Homo superiors, are individuals who possess a genetic trait called the "X-Gene" that allows them to naturally develop superhuman powers and abilities and sometimes affecting their appearance.
  • The Mutant is an enemy that appears in Site 16 in 2300 AD. It is unknown what it once was before its mutation, now it prey on any creatures that tries to pass though its territory. Being the strongest enemy you'll face up to this point, you'll need to use your most powerful Techs to make short work of it.
  • Mutant is a 1982 American Cult Classic science fiction/horror film directed by Allan Holzman and starring Jesse Vint and Dawn Dunlap.
  • Mutant was the captain of the crew Pillagers of Viridian and king of the flag Pillagers of Seven seas. He sails the Viridian Ocean.
  • Most heroes of mutant origin will begin their adventures in Paragon City by contacting GIFT, an organization that specializes in working with heroes of mutant origin. Heroes of mutant origin will have either Antonio Nash in Atlas Park or Prince Kiros Nandelu in Galaxy City as their initial contact, depending on which zone he or she selects as his or her beginning zone. Origin does not affect the initial contact of villains.
  • If you get touched by this enemy, you die, in addition, in the Helecopter Pack levels, they throw rocks at you. The sound the Mutants make, "Nya Nya Nya" is considered one of the most memorable sounds of Dark Castle.
  • A mutant is a human born with a genetic condition that grants them an extra-normal ability not possessed by mainstream humanity. This condition is caused by a gene complex known as the "X-factor." Although mutant powers vary greatly, telepathy, personal flight, the ability to project energy and enhanced strength, agility or senses are common mutant powers. Most typically, mutant powers manifest during puberty and, for some mutants, several years of self-discipline are needed before they can control their powers.

  • Survivors of the nuclear holocaust were forced to seek shelter in the ruins of cities contaminated with atomic radiation. The exposure to this radiation caused severe genetic defects – defects which were passed down through the generations, forcing select groups of mankind to evolve into a new subspecies of mutant. Two-thousand years later, many of these mutant descendents began to develop advanced telepathic abilities. Whether these mental endowments were borne as a side-effect of their mutation is still a matter of speculation.

  • When the Warpgates of the Old Slann collapsed and Chaos entered the world, it imbued Humanity with a vibrant spirit and a desire for change and advancement. While most of the race benefited from the effects of Chaos, there were those who were corrupted mentally and physically so that new races of creatures developed: the Chaos Beastmen and other, more hideous beings. However, the vast majority remained identifiably Human and thrived. The Beastmen were cast out or killed and The Empire grew. But the influence of Chaos has never left Humanity and each year more mutations appear within the race.
  • The Empire is far from the Chaos Wastes. Most of its citizens wouldn’t dream of risking their souls through the worship of the Chaos Gods. However, mutant children are occasionally born, and some adults find themselves becoming altered in later life, even in centres of civilisation such as Altdorf.[2a] The authorities of the Empire take a hard line on mutants. Ancient edicts deem them tainted by Chaos and therefore enemies to be destroyed, no matter how rational or benign a particular mutant might appear.[2a]
  • What defines a mutant is the meta-gene complex, also called the (MGC). This is a collection of 18 changes scattered over a number of chromosomes. Most people who have the meta-gene complex (at the last survey this was about 1/6th of the population) aren't "mutants". That requires activating the complex. Nobody knows how that happens. The whole concept of a "mutant" is, therefore, rather fuzzy. It's solid enough for the mass media and politicians, but once you get beyond the rabble rousers it becomes less and less precise.
  • All mutants have a genetic mutation called an X-Gene that causes their bodies to develop abilities that regular humans, homo sapiens, are unable to. The majority of mutants develop these abilities, which vary from person to person, usually upon puberty, though there are some mutants who display powers and/or physical mutations from birth, or in their twenties. Some mutants even display abilities from within the womb and posthumously, like Professor Charles Xavier and Jean Grey, respectively.
  • The bases of DNA are represented by letters, such as A, E, I, and O. The letter U is found in RNA, and sometimes its complementary base, Y. These letters typically appear in a very specific order to properly code for a functional protein. However, a change may sometimes occur by one of the aforementioned methods, leading to the gene coding for something else entirely. There are three basic types of mutations, with examples of how they might occur in humans:
  • The idea of a mutant is a common trope in comic books and science fiction. The new phenotypes that appear in fictional mutations generally go far beyond what is typically seen in biological mutants, and often result in the mutated life form exhibiting superhuman abilities or qualities.
  • On August 21, 1987 at a suburban hospital in Sacramento, California, Leslie Finch gave birth to her first child--a small boy. It is a given that the doctor followed procedure, though he may have been surprised at the baby's initial appearance. After the routine smack on the buttocks, the doctor ceased to exist. So did the baby's mother, the nurses, and most of the east wing. In a fiery explosion the small baby evinced the first publicly recorded release of mutant abilities. Several hundred patients and staff were killed or injured in the blast, but rescue crews discovered a small, blue-skinned baby, seemingly unharmed but deteriorating rapidly, amidst tons of charred rubble. The baby survived for three more hours, his skin nearly unbreakable by normal means and thus preventing the necessar
  • Mutant was a word used to describe any individual that has experienced mutation, regardless of what species the individual is. Usually a mutant has special abilities. For humans, it can be difficult to distinguish mutants from metahumans, but there are small physiological differences. The Super-Apes are a race of Gorillas that might also be considered mutants, since they are the product of what appears to be evolution. Another example of mutants was the Man-Wolf.
  • Mutants are people who are genetically gifted with a specific magical ability. Mutants are sometimes called Naturals and are in some way blood-related to a Mystic. hey have the potential to become a magic user but instead of being magic users and having mystical energy flow through them, it fuses to their very genetic structure in conception and creates a unique gene. This gene is mystical in nature, and holds all the mystical energy the person possesses in that one gene. The gene activates under extreme stress, regardless of age, and the ability manifested is the ability the mutant possesses from hence forth.
  • A Mutant is an individual, organism, or new genetic character arising or resulting from an instance of mutation, which is a sudden structural change within the DNA of a gene or chromosome of an organism resulting in the creation of a new character or trait not found in the parental type.
  • The fact that Mutants wear green uniforms suggest they could originally have been captured U.S. Army soldiers before being subjected to the gruesome zombification process. This might explain, why they have been known to kill Nazi guards for their vengeance. The concept of the mutants is based off of nazi experiments in humans. In fact, when B.J. is turned in one by Dr. Schabbs' syringes, his hair color is not affected and he is still blond, while all mutants are black-haired in opposite to all blonde hair guards in the game, suggesting the usage of non-Aryan people.
  • The mutants were mainly scavengers, relying heavily on the things the New New Yorkers flush down the toilet. They were led by Mayor Raoul. They had a well established village, with a seemingly vibrant economy as evidenced by the existence of stores and restaurants reminiscent of 20th century corporate chains. They had quite a few young people in the village, and the local teacher was Dwayne. Unfortunately the school was destroyed after a motorized sewer race between Leela and Moose went out of control.
  • Mutants (also known as Homo Superiors) are people who posses the X-Gene and developed superhuman powers, traits, and abilities. These powers range from physical to psychic or psionic based. The mutant gene can also cause physical traits and characteristics no humans possess, commonly having the skin or eyes more animal-like than human. Any such attributes are not always controlled by the mutant in question, as some cannot control their powers properly or at all, especially if their mutation affects their appearance. The mutant gene usually manifests at puberty, often at times of great stress, while some mutants, like Sabertooth and Wolverine, could develop it beforehand if they also experience such levels of stress. According to Pyro (from the second film), it's been discovered that males
  • The folk of Innsmouth were powerful sorcerers. They were former humans, but due to their dark magic rituals and worship of old ones (such as Cthulhu) they had transformed into fish-like creatures. At some point they withdrew along with Whateley Manor into the World of Daventry. Wilbur Whateley was also believed to have been a mutant, but not of the fish-like variety. At least one fish mutant ended up in The Swamp of Tamir where it feeds on the frogs and other creatures of the bogs.
  • The mutant will improve at the end of nearly every battle. While the player can influence how the mutant improves, it is mostly random. And while the mutant nearly always gets more powerful, it is also possible to lose very powerful abilities. For this reason, if the player have any mutants in the party, they must save the game after every fight, unless they lose a good ability, in which case they should reset the game and reload by using the Soft reset to resets the game quickly.

They were former humans, but due to their dark magic rituals and worship of old ones (such as Cthulhu) they had transformed into fish-like creatures. At some point they withdrew along with Whateley Manor into the World of Daventry. Most ran into the sea and disappeared immediately upon arriving in Tamir perhaps heading for R'lyea. They spoke little; they left no tales. The ones who stayed on land gurgled what little information that had been passed down, and then locked themselves inside the mansion. They disappeared from sight, and soon the eerie glows and rays which stabbed from the house at night vanished also. In time the hauntings began. Wilbur Whateley was also believed to have been a mutant, but not of the fish-like variety. At least one fish mutant ended up in The Swamp of Tamir where it feeds on the frogs and other creatures of the bogs.

By the late 40th century, a coalition of mutants established a settlement for themselves in the ruins of St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City. They had acquired a weapon of mass destruction – a surviving relic from Humanity’s downfall. This was a Doomsday device known as the Alpha-Omega Bomb. Declaring the weapon as the "Divine Bomb", the Alpha-Omega Bomb represented not only a unifying characteristic of their lifestyle, but of their origins as well. They believed that God spoke to them through the weapon. They placed the missile, as well as its accompanying launch controls, at the nave of their altar in the cathedral. On most occasions, the subterranean denizens of New York wore latex masks and wigs which concealed their physical mutations, but during liturgical services and Mass, it was customary to remove their masks while proclaiming in unison, "I reveal my Inmost Self unto my God." All elements of mutant culture revolved around devotion towards their religion. Followers wore stark, white, full-bodied uniforms, the design of which was patterned after the protective radiation suits worn by their ancestors. Even children were expected to behave in accordance to the tenets of their faith. A popular children's nursery rhyme, though seemingly innocent, invoked images of the nuclear horror that befell mankind centuries past. Image:Mutant musician.jpg Ring-a-ring o'neutrons, A pocketful of positrons, A fission! A fission! We all fall down. The mutants were reclusive isolationists who shied away from the world above them. However, in 3978, a time-lost astronaut named George Taylor stumbled upon their underground society. The leaders used their mental powers to interrogate him at length, from which they learned that a society of evolved apes had developed a community outside the ruins of New York City. After extracting as much information as they could from Taylor, they imprisoned him in one of their many dungeon cells. On occasion, the reigning council from Ape City would send Gorilla scouts into the region (which they referred to as the Forbidden Zone), in search of evidence of human occupation. To protect themselves from inquiry, the mutants used their telepathic powers to create massive illusions depicting scenes of graphic violence. In some cases they would craft the image of a great wall of flame; in others they would produce visions of apes being crucified and tortured. On one circumstance, they allowed a gorilla scout to enter the underground tunnels, where they placed him under an intense telepathic interrogation. Recognizing the aggressive prejudices of the apes, they decided that apes were a threat to their existence and took elaborate measures to conceal themselves from further inspection. A short time later, another astronaut named John Brent and a mute human named Nova followed Taylor's trail into the Forbidden Zone. The mutants captured them, and used the same mental torture techniques against Brent and Nova that they had used upon Taylor. They even manipulated Brent into turning on Nova, forcing him to choke her nearly to the point of death. After gleaning any information of value from him, they placed Brent into the same cell as Colonel Taylor. A guard named Ongaro watched over the prisoners and used his mental powers to make them fight against one another. In keeping with the structure of their own Holy doctrine, Ongaro iterated the fact that they do not actually kill their enemies, but rather, they force their enemies to kill each other. Brent and Taylor managed to break free of the mind control however, and killed Ongaro while escaping from their cell. At the same time, a gorilla military leader named General Ursus led an invasion party into the Forbidden City to route out and exterminate all human occupants. They found the mutant’s cathedral and proceeded to execute as many mutants as they could find. Mendez and Caspay along with an unknown female mutant were shot down in cold blood, while Albina preferred to end her own life rather than suffer the fury of a military onslaught. Moments after the last of the mutant leaders had been executed, George Taylor, dying from a gunshot wound, fell upon the launch controls of the Alpha-Omega Bomb. The device was activated and the resulting explosion destroyed the entire world and killed any surviving mutants that weren't executed by Ursus' Gorilla soldiers.

Mutation can also entail a minor to radical alteration in physical appearance from the normal human- wings, gills, a tail, fur, altered skin color, etc. Mutant powers can grow and increase as the mutant grows and develops. Some powers remain latent until activated by severe stress, or remain unnoticed throughout the person's lifetime, while others are apparent immediately from birth. Some individuals have a secondary mutation which activates in adulthood. For some mutants, several years of self-discipline are needed before they can control their powers, while others never gain full control of their powers. Mutants may be born to human or mutant parents, though the odds of a mutant birth are much better for the latter. Likewise, it is rare but possible for mutant parents to have human children, termed "baseline" by characters within the Marvel Universe. Some baseline humans are genetically predisposed towards having mutant descendants such as the Guthrie family (see Cannonball, Husk, and Icarus). Mutant children born to mutant parent(s) will not necessarily have the same power(s) as their parent(s), nor will they necessarily have the same power(s) as any mutant siblings they may have; however, examples of children with the same power(s) as their parents and/or siblings are not uncommon. There is, however, a chance that mutants may not even be able to reproduce a child at all. The Hayes (Runaways), telepathic mutant doctors, were unsure their mutant heritage could even produce a child; it did, however, take them several years to finally have a child: Molly Hayes.
  • The Empire is far from the Chaos Wastes. Most of its citizens wouldn’t dream of risking their souls through the worship of the Chaos Gods. However, mutant children are occasionally born, and some adults find themselves becoming altered in later life, even in centres of civilisation such as Altdorf.[2a] Scholars provide a number of possible reasons for these occurrences. Morrslieb, the smaller of the world’s two moons, is alleged to consist wholly of warpstone. The light of the moon is said to cause mutation in those who dally too long beneath it. Warpstone dust is sometimes blown in on strong northerly winds and shards of it fall from the night sky as meteorites. People say that wizards who cast spells too recklessly risk mutation, and that trafficking with Daemons or the Undead is a sure fire path to mutation. Many believe that mutation can result from sinful behaviour and impious desires.[2a] The authorities of the Empire take a hard line on mutants. Ancient edicts deem them tainted by Chaos and therefore enemies to be destroyed, no matter how rational or benign a particular mutant might appear.[2a] Imperially sanctioned Witch Hunters and members of the Knightly Orders track down and kill mutants with the same pitiless zeal they show sorcerers and daemons. Nobles and town councils levy bounties on mutants as aggressively as they do on outlaws and goblins.[2a] Folk in the Empire regard mutants as physically disgusting and morally abhorrent. Whenever a mutant amongst them is exposed, many people gather in droves to witness its execution. The preferred way to put a mutant to death is to burn it at the stake, a spectacle sure to delight a crowd. Witch Hunters who uncover a number of mutants in one area have been known to hold them prisoner for weeks before their execution. News of such a mass burning can draw crowds from miles around, and works wonders for a Witch Hunter’s reputation.[2a]
  • The mutant's flesh is mutilated and torn in places, and some limbs appear deformed.
To view a list of all Mutants click . __TOC__
  • Mutant –
  • The bases of DNA are represented by letters, such as A, E, I, and O. The letter U is found in RNA, and sometimes its complementary base, Y. These letters typically appear in a very specific order to properly code for a functional protein. However, a change may sometimes occur by one of the aforementioned methods, leading to the gene coding for something else entirely. There are three basic types of mutations, with examples of how they might occur in humans: * Insertion - A body part is added. For example, a human may be born with additional ears and a tail. * Deletion - A body part goes missing. For example, a human may be born missing an anus. * Substitution - A body part becomes something different. For example, the sequence XX may become XY, causing a human's vagina to become a penis instead, producing a mutant. Roughly half of the population is affected by this mutation. However, whether XX or XY is the mutant variant is a topic still under fierce debate. Not all mutations lead to observable differences in the resulting amino acid sequence. For instance, substituting an A for another A still leads to the codon AAA. Mutations in the DNA of a corpse tend not to produce any effects, either (unless a zombie is created).
In the cities and villages of The Empire, children are occasionally born with severe mutations which set them apart from the rest of Humanity. Many of these children are so badly mutated that they are unable to live when they enter the world, while others are so repulsively abnormal that they are killed at birth. Many parents, however, are unable to bring themselves to dispose of their offspring in such a cold-blooded way and hide or abandon them in the forests where they fall prey to wild beasts or ravaging Chaos Beastmen. But not all abandoned mutant children die. Some are taken in and raised by the Beastmen, who recognise kindred spirits in the young mutants and others are discovered by fellow mutants who raise them in the secret camps. Consequently, there are many mutants living under the dark eaves of the forests. These creatures live a bestial existence, barely competing with the other animals and monsters that share the forests with them. The Chaos taint is not always obvious at birth, however. Often it develops slowly, only becoming present in adolescence or even later. Numbers of Humans grow up reviling Chaos only to discover that they themselves are among its victims. Of these, a few manage to conceal their mutations and live normal lives, but most flee to the forests. There a strong and intelligent mutant can gain supremacy over fellow mutants and occasionally even Beastmen. Some mutants join the growing ranks of Chaos Warriors, who fester in the heartlands of The Empire, preparing to sweep it away in an orgy of violence and burning. Yet not all mutants are outcasts, for there are those who disguise their mutations with great skill and even hold positions of responsibility and power within The Empire. These mutants may loathe the society around them and strive to bring it down by aiding the forces of Chaos. Often, these groups are closely-knit and conceal mutants of several generations standing, those without obvious signs going about society as normal, while those with obvious mutations are kept from sight or hidden in the woods with others of their kind.
  • A Mutant is an individual, organism, or new genetic character arising or resulting from an instance of mutation, which is a sudden structural change within the DNA of a gene or chromosome of an organism resulting in the creation of a new character or trait not found in the parental type. In some cases, mutants were created through genetic engineering, radiation or the dark side of the Force, most notably Sith alchemy and magic. Subjects were often remade into mutants to be more brutal, more cunning, and, in some cases, more intelligent. In other cases, individuals of a wide range of species were born mutants most notably Triclops and the Keeramak.
The baby survived for three more hours, his skin nearly unbreakable by normal means and thus preventing the necessary medical attention. There was an uproar in the public. The baby was an alien, some said, or the Devil incarnate. Even Christ reborn. Scientists labored relentlessly to find an answer, and eventually Dr. Charles Xavier, an American geneticist, discovered the X-factor gene. At first the public was skeptical. Public opinion was soon swayed, however, as more and more individuals stepped forward and revealed superhuman powers of greater or lesser magnitude, or were discovered under the new scrutiny of a nation. Emily Thorinson of Dayton, Ohio could change the color of any plant she touched. She had been winning awards for her yellow and blue roses for years. Charles Keating could lift his Harley Davidson motorcycle over his head with one hand. Xian Chow of Beijing sneezed in a restaurant and shattered windows for nearly a mile in all directions. Suddenly the world had to deal with a brand new situation - the mutant phenomenon. U.S. government records indicate that some evidence of the x-factor existed prior to The Finch Baby in 1987, and later research indicated that the x-factor may have existed as early as the 19th century, but nothing had ever been proven and the exact cause of it's activation is unknown to this day, though speculation leads modern science to ambient radiation caused by the detonation of nuclear weapons. The origin of the x-factor itself remains a mystery, though several projects exist specifically researching the topic. The Human Genome Project, by far the best funded and staffed of the projects, has determined that it is as often as not psionic in nature, meaning that a person's power or powers are either directly tied in with the mind, or seem to have some basis in their psyche. Even physical mutations have been related to an individuals mental state of mind, or even their current thoughts at the time of the change. Subconscious stimuli and psychological states at times of x-factor activation are being considered as both catalyst and x-factor programmer. The circumstances causing the activation may also have a bearing on what alterations in an individual take place. With the notable lack of hard data, however, further research is warranted, and everything from prehistoric genetic tampering to cosmic radiation is being investigated as a source for the x-factor's recent activity. In all cases, however, the x-factor is fundamentally uniform in structure. Also, no individual without the gene has ever demonstrated powers. If one does not possess the gene at all, one will not gain superpowers ever. Many of the early mutants were gathered up for tests, persuaded one way or another to contribute to scientific research. Many of these individuals, though later released, spoke of mistreatment, physical and psychological abuse, and in some cases, death at the hands of their "doctors". Nothing was proved, but it wasn't too far fetched, all things considered, and people began to embrace the metahuman population as a "needy cause". Some of the names heard in the news, however, were never heard from again. By 1993 several more incidents of mutant births were recorded, but scientists had discovered a screening process to ensure the child's safe arrival into the world. The advent of Project: Lifeline was instrumental in finally bringing the reality home to the average citizen. Founded by Dr. Robert Mayer, Project: Lifeline was set up to be the foremost medical facility in dealing with mutants. Powers rarely manifested at birth, but the Project enables doctors to determine if the x-factor is present in unborn fetuses, and takes steps to ensure a safe birth as well as pre- and post-natal care of the infant. By the end of the decade mutants were being discovered or born on an almost daily basis. Virtually all demographic denominations were affected, though notably affluent countries experienced a higher presence of mutants than, for example, Third World countries. The nineties were a time of great social upheaval and tension for mutants. The world was having a difficult time adjusting to the rise of mutants in it's midst. Organizations were formed for the advocacy of mutant rights, such as Project: Lifeline, and even MetaFriends--a national support group for mutants and their friends and family--as well as SANE (Superhumans And Normals as Equals). Other groups rose up to condemn mutants as being "freaks of nature", and a potential danger to humanity in general. SLAM (Stronger Limits Against Metacriminals) was one of the first and is possibly the best organized and reasonable of these groups. The Friends of Humanity (FoH) are one of the most vocal and notable of these organizations, and exist in one form or another even today. The FoH is known for their aggressive stance against mutants, going so far as to picket the houses of known mutants. Thus far, violence and hate crimes that can be tied to them have been held at a minimum though suspicions run high when such a crime is committed. A splinter group, however, used private sector funding to move underground, becoming a paramilitary organization with vast resources, eventually emerging in early 2000 as Genocide. Their views are public and violent, and they hold that only through genetic cleansing can the human race save itself. They have extensive international political and economic support, though rarely is there open support for the group. Nations across the globe reacted in a variety of ways. Some adopted an open-arms policy, believing the mutants to be the blessed of God. Others believed them to be some sort of planted threat, either by neighboring countries, aliens, or an as yet undetermined foe. A few countries instigated a "collection" of known and suspected mutants, utilizing them in research, national protection, or slave labor with little regard for human rights. Many mutants were captured, or enslaved, or killed outright. In recent years there has been a certain amount of restructuring in regards to their stance on mutants, but Third World mutants still face oppressive governments. Amnesty International began working to free some of these mutants in the mid-nineties, thus giving the mutant population a certain amount of credibility. The new millenium has seen the beginnings of a new era for humanity, as human and mutant learn to live in relative harmony. The number of mutants born remained miniscule, and alpha to gamma level mutants even fewer. Currently is estimated that from one in 25,000 to one in 10,000 persons are mutants (numbers depend on the area, mutants tend to congregate in cities). An estimated 20,000 mutants live in the United States, and 250,000 to 500,000 worldwide (and some studies place the number at twice that). It is a small minority, but a dangerous and vocal one. Those born with the dormant x-Factor are steadily increasing. It can be estimated that one in every 20,000 humans born in the 1980s may carry the x-Factor. As numbers increase contact between those with the x-factor gene becomes closer. It appears that out of the numbers of those born with the x-Factor during the 1980s, around half of those actually manifest some sort of superhuman ability at puberty. This 'new generation' of Homo sapiens mutatis tends to be much more powerful than their predecessors. Many of them have access to powers and abilities that would have previously been regarded as 'alpha' level. The ability to fly, generate high levels of energy, invulnerability--this is what makes an alpha, and these are the individuals who become superheroes and supervillains.
This is a list of the skills that a Mutant can learn. See enemy abilities for more specific information about each individual abilities.
In the episode "The Mutants Are Revolting", with the help of Fry, Bender, and Leela, the mutants revolt and obtain freedom in New New York.
  • Dans le jeu, un mutant est un monstre particulier, pas une classe de monstres.

A few examples are the Mutant Door Mat, Wind Up Mutant Jetsam, Mutant Lupe Plushie, Mutant Tchea, Mutant Lamp and Mutant Doughnut.
It should be noted that while there is no "mutant test", it is possible to genetically test to see if the meta-gene complex is active. While there are people with an active complex who don't have super powers, all mutants with measurable abilities have an active complex.
According to Pyro (from the second film), it's been discovered that males (human or mutant) carry the mutant gene and pass it on. As such, female mutants can't pass the gene to their offspring.
  • The fact that Mutants wear green uniforms suggest they could originally have been captured U.S. Army soldiers before being subjected to the gruesome zombification process. This might explain, why they have been known to kill Nazi guards for their vengeance. Mutants have guns surgically integrated into their chests, making them literal killing machines. While only armed with an automatic Pistol, they are easily one of the most deadliest enemies in the game. Mutants can fire instantly instead of having to wind up for firing like Guards and Officers do, and they fire continuously instead of in single shots. Compounding this difficulty, Mutants are completely silent - meaning they do not announce their presence to the player as do the more conventional enemies except through their gunshots, and their only vocalization is their death scream. On higher difficulties, being ambushed by a Mutant or two can drain heavy amounts of the player's health, if not outright kill. Upon death, like other gun-toting enemies, a Mutant drops an ammo clip containing 4 bullets. The Übermutant, an improved Mutant, appears in Spear of Destiny. In the Mac Family, the Mutant gives 400 scoring points instead of 700. In the mission packs for Spear of Destiny, the mutants are replaced with Bats.
  • Mutant was a word used to describe any individual that has experienced mutation, regardless of what species the individual is. Usually a mutant has special abilities. For humans, it can be difficult to distinguish mutants from metahumans, but there are small physiological differences. For example, a mutant was considered the product of evolution; whereas metahumans were born with a meta-gene, and didn't usually get any super powers unless they were exposed to some sort of trauma. For example, the Flash, who is definitely a metahuman, was struck by lightning and bathed in chemicals before his meta-gene was "jump-started," giving him super speed. Doctor Cranum believed that by the 10,020th century, all humans would be mutants, and will have evolved to the point where they have remarkable mental powers. Although it should be noted that by that time, mutants by the 20th century definition would no longer be considered as such, since that would be the norm by then. The Super-Apes are a race of Gorillas that might also be considered mutants, since they are the product of what appears to be evolution. Another example of mutants was the Man-Wolf.
  • The idea of a mutant is a common trope in comic books and science fiction. The new phenotypes that appear in fictional mutations generally go far beyond what is typically seen in biological mutants, and often result in the mutated life form exhibiting superhuman abilities or qualities. Within the realm of TMNT, the term "mutant" is almost exclusively used to describe any being who has been affected by mutagen, rather than any naturally occurring mutations. Mutagen can mutate a being in numerous ways, ranging from animals taking on human traits (such as The Ninja Turtles and Splinter) to humans taking on animal traits (such as Bebop and Rocksteady), to either taking on the traits of other objects (such as Muckman) or simply growing in size and strength (such as the Super Shredder). The 1987 TV series stated that whatever was being mutated would take on the traits of the last living thing it touched. This is not stated in any other series, and would seem contradictory in many cases. The Mutagen exposure is the same in the 2012 series. According to a Kraang operative in Pulverizer Returns!, the Mutagen's effects are unpredictable. It was also shown that if anyone is exposed to Mutagen and hasn't come in contact with anything animal or plant-related, they will end up turning into a mutant blob. The Mutagen is shown to not mutate anyone who has some Kraang DNA in them.
